I was reading up on how it was built in 1912 in the Italian renaissance style, not that dissimilar to the Greco-Roman style with its ivory pillars. It's so beautiful, it felt like I was in a museum rather than a library. As I walked through the passageways, I wondered who had walked here back in those days? Men? Women? Were women even allowed inside places of learning back then? Once again, I dragged my brother along for use of his library card as I am only visiting during my mother's surgical recovery and checked out a few books. They do have a vast selection compared to other libraries I have seen. Including DVD's, music, even video games!!! Never thought I'd see that in a library. My library back home gives no such visual inspirations and has media but it's limited to just DVD's and music so I was very impressed with what I saw here. I asked about a particular author whose works I wanted to check out and while it wasn't at that location, I was told that it could be delivered, so great service there. If I lived here, I'd probably frequent this library all the time. The building being so extraordinary is just icing on the cake.

All the…read morelibrary staff are very professional and usually there will be someone on staff knowledgeable about your concerns. The environment is calm and peaceful, with sealed glass group activity rooms for which to carry on without distraction to patrons. The restrooms are male - female separated by 30 feet, well ventilated, paper supplied and clean. The computing stations are powered by up to date Dell Inspiron small computing networked hardware. Wifi is sluggish though rated at gigabit speed, with average password security; however, the hardline backbone network is fast with very little downtime. Printer services are expensive and require mild technical expertise and paper stock is not premium either. Parking is adequate with an allowable overflow into the adjacent strip mall. I enjoy this place.

What a great library!…read more It's a newer building, modern architecture and very flowing. They've got a peaceful adult reading room upstairs and quite a few computers. The location of the library is great too- right in East Longmeadow center. There's a Starbucks right in the plaza Their children's room and programs are WONDERFUL. Miss Jennie and the other librarians are so helpful and creative! They've got tons of holiday programs, the summer reading program, and always are involved in the community. I highly recommend this library!

Flippin awesome this is my go to place for books, magazines, movies... even puzzles (they even have…read morethe fancy shmancy 3D ones). I know I know if you live in a big city Agawam's library may not impress but this is a little New England town people. Definitely the best library I've ever frequented. Books/Videos/online services: My favorite thing about this library is the fact that they are linked with a ton of other local libraries so even if they don't have your book they can get it from one of the neighboring libraries. They even have great shows you can get on DVD like Sopranos, the Wire, The Walking Dead, etc... not to mention most of the new releases that are available on Redbox. They also give you updates to your email when your books arrive and when they're due. You can also extend your books online. Ok people I realize that all libraries probably due it these days but hey its the 1st time I've ever used these features. Books upon books, right when you walk through the door they have a pretty awesome wooden parquet floor, community room to your right, art adorning the walls by local artists and a section for new arrivals. To the left is a very comprehensive kids section with computers, a children activity room, and a little play area for toddlers. The rest of the library is dedicated to the all of the other books, video's and magazines. They even have backpacks prepacked for book clubs how cool is that. I also love listening to books on tape for long road trips and they have a pretty great selection ( Cracker whaaattt). Staff: Always very helpful with finding a book, resetting your pin for the umpteenth time, and checking out an obscene amount of items. They also have a Keurig machine with K cups galore and if you ask nicely they may even help you make a cup(they even have hot chocolate.) Overall Impression: This place is outstanding especially considering the population of Agawam is ~ 29,000. Check this place out

Gosh, I love this town. The building is a little off the road with a tiny little sign outside of it. Just look for the big white beautiful building. There is adequate parking. As you walk into the building, there is a video and book drop off on your left. As you walk in the first set of door, there's a box top drop on your right. Great way to donate those things! The lady at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. We were able to sign up for his first library card. Since he's not old enough to sign, the card was made under my account. You just need proof of residency. There are so many things to do here. There is a program for everyday of the month where there are events based on the age of your child. The building has two floors with a stair and elevator access. There are numerous comfortable chairs, gerbils to watch, fish in tanks, lots of computers and super quiet areas to study. The decor and building are absolutely beautiful. The most beautiful library I have ever seen. Looking forward to being an active member in this community and bringing out son to the different events. Books are good for three weeks and videos are good for one week before they've one overdue. You will also get an email to remind you. Awesome for those who forget easily, like me! Lol. You can also donate your old books here. Swing by, you will love it.
