A large place- one would expect some areas to suffer, but nothing did ! -the most profesional, caring staff- a place I felt cared for and secure. Lovely people, and a fine experience- high marks ! ss read more

I really don't like the way this place treats patients' partners/friends. You're required to have someone pick you up, but they won't let people inside the waiting room. Partners have to sit in a cold hallway, and the staff is really rude about it. If they really have to do this, they could be much kinder about it ... it creates an overall unwelcoming and uncomfortable experience. read more

I will echo all the positive statements here, and add that Dr. R. Weiss, GI, did a wonderful job.

I had my first colonoscopy yesterday at East Side. The staff are amazing. They walked me through each step of the process so I know what to expect, which went a long way toward relieving the nervousness I felt. Big shout out as well to Dr. Babak Mohajer for his calm and very cool bedside manner! Thanks all read more

Perfection. Brilliantly run. I had to get a colonoscopy and it felt like a spa visit. These people know what they're doing. Run like a well oiled machine. read more

The staff and the doctors at this office are fantastic. They guide you step-by-step. They advise you of all the steps in the procedure that you are getting. I would recommend this facility 100%. read more

I was so impressed with how clean and comfortable the facility was, the friendly and welcoming staff, and the knowledge of everyone. In 1 hr, I already felt like I was with family. This is the perfection of medical facilities, and Im so excited to recommend East Side Endoscopy to everyone. Thank you, guys, for making my medical visit so easy and pleasant!! read more

Never EVER EVER go to this place EVER unless you want to waste HUNDREDS of your hours on the phone with them, insurance, and collections agencies. They are the most irresponsible and unorganized doctors office in the WORLD! First of all, the sent me a bill that did not match what my insurance said I would pay. After probably 5 or 6 phone calls to EACH of them, East Side Endoscopy said that they would not call my insurance and that the insurance would need to call them. My insurance said that they would not call East Side Endoscopy and that East Side Endoscopy needed to call them. I even got the 2 of them together on a 3 way call, and they STILL refused to talk to each other. Finally, after literal MONTHS of dealing with this childish back and forth, I decided to just pay the bill because the discrepancy was not worth my time. I paid the bill over the phone to East Side Endoscopy, I received an email confirmation of a receipt, but East Side Endoscopy is so disorganized that they STILL sent my case to collections. I have since received TWO phone calls and a letter from collections saying that my bill is outstanding, even though I have email proof that it is not. I also have the amount showing as deducted from my bank account. At this point I have spoken with TWO different people at East Side Endoscopy who have PROMISED that they have spoken to the collections agency to let them know that I have paid the bill, but the collections agency is still calling me and if this doesn't get solved soon, it will affect my credit. I'm incredibly disappointed by the customer service here and HIGHLY recommend that you NEVER EVER EVER go here unless you want to waste literally hundreds of hours of your life on the phone with incompetent people who cannot figure out how to pick up the phone and call people or send an email! read more

Very kind, thorough, and professional staff. I felt like I was in good hands from start to finish. I've escorted people from here and recently had a procedure myself, and each time the level of care was excellent. Yes, that waiting room is tiny, but once restrictions lift I imagine escorts will be able to wait in the main area again, which was the previous set up. read more

This is like a market place. The personnel in the front office and the reviewer have not manners and address the patients in a condescending and disrespectful manner. I saw 5 instances in which the reviewers and the receptionist addressed patients disrespectfully. Specifically, the Asian lady in charge of reviewing the insurance coverages. Besides her rudeness, she spent her time talking to her counterpart, the receptionist, making the patients sit and wait until they finished their personal conversation. read more

The place is the worst. I wish my gastroenterologist did not use this place. 1. They rush you out after a procedure in total sedation. (My escort -twice- had to physically prevent me from falling/fainting on the street, as I was not ready to leave but they rushed me out b/c they had to close - NEVER HAVE A PROCEDURE THERE ON A FRIDAY!) 2. Their "emergency number" does not allow you to leave a msg, contrary to what it claims (in the printed instructions provided at discharge). 3. They asked me to come early, checked me in, then left me completely unattended for over 1hr without informing me of what was going on (not the first time but the first time it got so bad). 4. They ask you to do mobile check in, this and that and then you have to do it all over again there. Why? STAY AWAY if you can. read more

Terrific place, kind and friendly doctors and staff. Have used this place twice over the past few years.

There's a reason this place is rated so high and it's deserved. Their staff is excellent and their efforts in keeping you informed is far better than anywhere else I've encountered. No one ever really wants to go for a procedure that puts them under.. it's scary even if it's routine such as an endoscopy. A nurse calls you a few days before your appointment to go over preparations for the procedure and asks some preliminary questions. A few days before the procedure you also get an email that breaks down the estimated out of pocket costs you will be responsible for after deductibles, co insurance etc. Upon arrival you check in on a machine...quick and easy then get called up by staff to do some final paperwork. After that a nurse ushers you in and preps you for your procedure. The nurses are very informative and are willing to answer any questions. The facility is clean... literally looks like a hospital. They have a small safety box for each patient to use that can only really fit your keys, phone and wallet so leave all other valuables at home. Post procedure you get to stay in bed until you wake up, then the nurse checks in on you and shortly after the doctor comes in to talk about findings etc. They won't release you unless someone is there to get you. A few days later a nurse calls to check up on how you're doing. read more

I had a great experience here and the reception and nursing staff overall were extremely kind and friendly and caring. The only suggestion would be how they handle their locked door situation due to Covid. If you want to have a bell for entry then you also need someone immediately ready to get up and answer the door, don't keep people waiting when they need to use the restroom and haven't eaten for 24 hours. read more

Warning: This is a Covid19 super-spreader facility. My spouse had a procedure done here that required anaesthesia. I was appointed to pick him up. I think the term is 'escort.' The clinic is in the basement. When I got down there, the elevator lets out into a tiny waiting area with two chairs that were already occupied. Through the glass doors I could see a spacious waiting room. I rang the bell. And waited. I rang the bell again. And waited. Finally, I leaned on the bell, and an annoyed nurse came scurrying out. I told her why I was there. She said wait. In a tiny, unventilated room, with five people already there. I pointed to the nearly empty waiting room. "They've all had Covid tests." To make a too long story short, this clinic obviously doesn't care about curtailing the spread of the virus. Maybe if you're a paying patient you're treated well But if you're there to pick up a patient, the attitude is curl up and die for all they care. Oh, and a helpful hint: don't hesitate to lean on that f*ing doorbell. It annoys the heck out of the. read more

After initially going with another Dr. and facility I didn't expect much but this had to be one of the best medical experiences I have ever had. My nurse ( male, his name escapes me) along with the medical intake person and anesthesiologist were all so professional, chill. Along with Dr. M they made this an excellent experience! Thank you to everyone at East Side Endoscopy! Seriously one of the best medical experience I've had. read more

Have had many, ah hem of these procedures. This was by far and away the smoothest overall experience. Perhaps I had a leg up, starting with a GI that I totally trust, On the day, I was happily relaxed (pre-drugs!). Everyone was calm and assuring, answering all questions. Check in was a breeze. Nurses joked, smiled, were helpful. Anesthesiologist explained every move and I never felt uncomfortable during or after. Wasn't even tired that day. If you can recommend a location in NY, this is it. Won't hesitate to go back when I have to. read more

I never, ever write reviews, but sometimes something is so great, you want to share (and I'll be posting this on their other yelp listing since they seem to be duped for some reason. This medical facility is great for the following reasons: It's very clean, super fast, the staff is very clear and thorough, crazy nice, and lighthearted, and the check-in service was done by kiosk, making it super through and efficient. I wish I knew the name of the two nurses and anesthesiologist I worked with so I could commend them by name. If you have an option for where to get your endoscopy/colonoscopy done, you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not coming here. read more

This place is terrible. It made my wife wait in a tiny unventilated elevator hallway and refused to let her into the empty waiting room. Instead she was shoulder to shoulder with other folks who are waiting to escort their loved one home. Terrible treatment of paying patients. Rude, insensitive and unprofessional. The head nurse/bouncer told my wife who is 70 to "come back in two hours". we live in Brooklyn, where was she supposed to go? The instructions we received from the doctor said that an escort had to be present or the appointment would be canceled. When we arrive, we are told that no, she must wait in the tiny hallway or "get lost" for two hours. Never again. The worst patient service I have experienced in a long time. In addition to the fact that the facility is grungy, old, and not that clean. Avoid this place. read more

Just left this place after having a ( ugh) colonoscopy, and if ever that procedure can be pleasant this is the place. I cannot say one negative thing. The nurse who called the day before was friendly and funny, the front desk made the check in easy ( plus they have an easy kiosk check in) and they were right on time! The anesthesiologist came in to see me ( Dr Book) and was incredibly reassuring and nice. The Doctor came in to review exactly what he would do. The nurses made me very comfortable . One thing- while I believe everything is safe in your curtained area, there is only a tiny locked safe for jewelry, wallet, watch. Leave anything of value at home. I was wheeled in to another " surgical" room where they gave me an IV right away, asked me my name and date of birth, and the next thing I knew I woke up back in my curtained area. The procedure took about 20 minutes. I was given tea and water and crackers, allowed to rest for a while, signed a discharge form, saw the doctor who reported all findings to me ( happily it was a clean exam) and I got dressed and went home. You are required to have someone over 18 pick you up - (they have to sign you out - so make those arrangements). The place is spotlessly clean and the vibe is friendly and very caring. Highly recommended. read more

This is a really professionally run office. The doctor who performed the colonoscopy was gentle, and explained everything carefully. Support nurses could not be nicer. The procedure room was immaculate. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

They say at the age of 50 you should get a colonoscopy. If you haven't done one i we suggest not to bother with it especially if you have a problem with time. The prep is only the beginning of ones historical event. A clear liquid diet for a good day and a half, not to mention this solution you have to drink, which mine was called, MoviePrep. There was no movie. Then when you finally get to your appointment, at this particular place, you stand at a computer for a good 10 minute questionnaire. Then you have a seat in the waiting area, where it's just a few steps from the computer you were standing in front of. (I HATE WAITING AREAS). Now your name is called and you have to go into a door and and sit in front of a person who is behind, yet, another computer. And he/she goes over all the information you did in the questionnaire when you first got in and now you're going over your insurance information and all of the legalities. You go right back out to the famous waiting area, HUNGRY and for myself pretty agitated by this whole process I was not prepared for and was in no good mood. Finally, a woman in scrubs call your name and you go into another door and you're in general population of the hospital/clinic with all the curtain cubicles and where she shows you a bed and she stands in front of, yet, another computer and starts to ask you questions. Some of the questions that you've already answered from the other two areas and some new ones. Finally she tells you you can put on your gown, lay down and she will be back to poke you in the arm. At last your wheeled into another room and by this time everyone that you've met starting with the nurse has properly introduce themselves to you and are genuinely nice. So yes I gave the front office people a little hell because I was hungry and livid by those 45 minutes until I got my bed. You have to have someone to escort you out after the procedure and I have unreliable friends. I told my friend an hour and a half after the procedure be there for me. three hours later and he finally shows. Luckily, for me, I stopped at Duane Reade and picked up 2 Hershey chocolate bars with almonds and a snickers. read more

This was my first colonoscopy, and they made me feel completely safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Everyone was very professional, polite, and knowledgeable, and my experience was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them! read more

The staff at East Side Endoscopy is amazing! They were very attentive, always calling to remind me about my appointment and very helpful in helping me get an earlier time when I requested. The day of the endoscopy itself went great. The front desk staff was extremely friendly. Everything was super clean: the waiting area, the bathrooms, the recovery area...etc. The nurses were also really friendly, and the first nurse that attended to me when I was first called in was hilarious. He eased a lot of anxiety I had about the procedure. He asked a few questions and then took my vitals, inserted an IV, & EKG leads for monitoring. The nurse joked with me the whole time. Finally, the anesthesiologist introduced himself and took me to the examination room. He explained to me the medications he was using to sedate me and numb pain. I fell asleep within 5 seconds and before I knew it I was up. The doctor discussed his findings, and after about 15 minutes of waking up I was good to go :) It was a very smooth experience! read more
