Dr. Mohajer is a very good doctor and a kind person. I've only gone to him for colonoscopies and I've always had faith in him and his staff. My only issue is the difficulty in getting in touch with their office now that they moved under Mt. Sinai. I would hope that if they are not accessible by phone, then patients would be answered via the portal more quickly. I would've felt much more at ease prior to my procedure. This issue is not a reflection on Dr. Mohajer, who I continue to highly recommend. read more

This has been one of the best doctors experience that I have had. They were very accommodating in getting me an appointment at such short notice and there was no wait time. The front desk staff were very courteous and they except multiple insurances. Dr Mohajer was incredibly thorough in his examination. I'm just gathering older scope results and CT scans for an appointment with a different GI, and a colonoscopy I had by Dr Mohajer came up and brought back bad memories. I was referred to him because I had an elevated CRP (inflammatory marker), abdominal pain, weight loss, and very weird looking poop. He scoped me, sent off biopsies, and called me maybe a week later and left a message saying everything was normal and no need to follow up. I called the office and requested a copy of my results which they gave me a hard time about sending me, so I showed up there to get them. Every area of my colon and the part of the small intesting reachable by scope had "non-specific inflammation". I tried calling to ask him what this meant as this didn't seem normal, plus I was actively symptomatic with positive inflammatory markers, but it was impossible to get a call back and so I never got answers, and I wasn't confident enough then to really get more aggressive. I'm much more confident and aggressive now about getting answers. If this were today, I would show up at the office and wait until he could address this. I hope he's changed, but that was pretty negligent practice of medicine right there. I went on to have a small bowel obstruction with a 5 day hospitalization later on, not far down the line. So I don't think "everything's normal" really applied. read more

Not helpful in any way. I have an eating disorder and he did nothing to help me. Even when I was I was in the hospital , he did nothing to advocate for any in hospital GI tests or procedures (as he didn't want to do them outpatient) which I understood. If you want compassion look elsewhere. read more

Dr. Mohajer is awesome. I was able to make an appointment the same day, and was seen with almost zero wait time. His office is nice and the ladies at the front desk are friendly and efficient. I told him I had lower right abdomen pain, and upon hearing this and then examining me told me to go straight to the ER for a cat scan as he believed I would need my appendix removed. Dr. Mohajer helped me during some horrible issues I was having. He is super professional, kind, easy to talk to, funny, and makes you feel comfortable. I had seen other doctors previous to him that didn't take my issues seriously and couldn't help. Dr.Mohajer took the time to learn my symptoms and provided me with a few easy options to follow. I appreciate how nice and professional the staff were as well. Could get me appointments fairly quickly and even though I kept rescheduling due to issues at work they were accommodating. I've seen Dr. Mohajer for two concerns, when my primary care Dr was unavailable. Dr. Mohajer has great bedside manners, and really takes time to listen to you face to face. I appreciate that he will sit with you in his office and discuss any concerns vs going right into an exam and multi-tasking. He explains everything during an examination and really puts you at ease. He is a very bad doctor; very unprofessional. He could not help me. Talking to him made me depressed. His staff is horrible. I did not receive any bills from them. Later I received a message from them saying that I have an outstanding balance that has not been paid for after many attempts to contact me. It is not true. I received no messages from them. Dr Mohajer is an amazing doctor. He's a super nice guy but what I like best is his patient education. He really explains the GI system in a way that you can understand and doesn't talk down to you. Every step of the way of a procedure or an exam he lets you know what's happening. He's extremely pleasant to deal with as a patient. His office is bright and airy and comfortable, and his admin staff are great. Never a problem with my insurance or with them getting me good endoscopy times at the endo center. I just had a consultation with Dr. Mohajer after reading many of the reviews and he even exceeds the nice picture painted. The office staff was very welcoming, streamlining the whole process so that I was able to see Dr. Mohajer within 5 minutes of finishing the paperwork. Once we began, he asked a few introductory questions and then he just LISTENED. We went in for the examination and he used a large touchscreen mounted on the wall to thoroughly illustrate and explain one of the possible conditions I have. That was particularly helpful. As a healthcare provider myself, I really appreciated his bedside manner and approach to explaining things. While I don't necessarily want to come back to a physician's office, I have no hesitation coming back for follow-ups and highly recommending Dr. Mohajer to others. read more

Attempted to phone the office multiple times throughout the day and always got a busy signal. I finally was able to get through to someone at 5:01pm. The woman I spoke to was extremely rude and refused to talk to me for a few minutes to see if they accepted my insurance and make an appointment for me, because the office closed at 5pm. I have been seeing Dr. Mohajer for quite a while. I originally seen him when he was part of Grammercy Park Physicians. When he moved I hunted him down and followed him to his new location. That really says a lot about how I feel. He has done numerous colonoscopies and endoscopies on me and my family. I wouldnt go anywhere else. I am a bit of a hypochondriac so most doctors are not patient with me. But not Dr. Mohajer. He actually calls me back personally when I phone. He's very patient and I never feel rushed. Since seeing Dr. Mohajer I've moved out of NYC to Westchester, but I still take the train in to see him. I wish more physicians were like him. read more

I scheduled an appointment for X day as I had another appointment with another doctor on the same day and I thought I will just take a whole day off and do my doctor visits... I got to Dr. Mohajer's office, only to find out that he was not in office and my appointment was a day earlier ...NO IT WAS NOT! The front desk woman was on the phone, after a while, she acknowledged me and informed me that doctor is not in and my appointment was yesterday.... Hmmm, they tried to call me but my voice mail is not set up, true it is not set up but you only tried to call me yesterday, I only have one missed call from that office.... and I thought they were just calling to remind me of an appointment....
