In the past, I could always count on this place for affordable subs in a hurry. This was my first time back since the place had new owners. I ordered a meatball sub with cheese on only half of it so that I could share the other half with my dairy-free daughter. My husband ordered a cold cut sub. My meatball sub was completely covered with cheese, but it had about a tablespoon of sauce and was so disgusting that I ended up throwing it in the trash after three bites, which was hard for me to do after spending $25. There were no condiments on my husband's sub, despite his specifying what he wanted. We won't be back. read more

Great variety. Chicken cutlets wish for a sub they were crispier and not as soggy. Meatball sub and steak and cheese are always good.

Great spot in Lee right next to the outlets. Better food than anything the outlets offer! They were very nice there, had some of their little dogs with everything and a roast beef sandwich. Call it in before you get off the Massachusetts turnpike on the way to tanglewood music festival. Get an enormous Grinder for eating at tanglewood. Perfect. Very good fresh sandwich. Visited Nov 2021 Mom and Pop shop deserves a much higher rating. After reading some reviews I decided to make my first ever just to set it straight. This is not a sponsor I just disagree with some reviews. The sub was just what I ordered, it was huge, it was mounded with veggies, and at a good price. The beer was priced well in fact I checked and it was at a better price than my local shop in Springfield. This obviously means they get 5 stars. I came here looking for a grinder and some beer. I had never been and the woman working the counter greeted me told me the special and said the subs were made to order. I got a large pastrami with extra veg. I told her, "I like my sandwiches like a salad between bread". I shopped while they made the sub. Found a 4 pack of craft beer that was reasonably priced and was happy with their selection. I disagree with one comment in particular someone order a veggie sub. Something that's not even on their menu! This is a deli/package store in Lee not NYC, Worcester, or Boston. You don't go to a deli and expect them to have a ton of veggies. You go there knowing they sell fresh cut meat. Additionally other people complain about the bread not being perfectly fresh. It's a a package store and deli that happens to make sandwiches. Damn good ones too. Next time I'm in the area I'll know where to go. read more

Visited in June, 2016 In the area for a wedding, and relied on Yelp* to find a decent sandwich. When "East Lee Package Store" showed up, I figured the search algo was wonky...how can a packy have subs? After browsing a few reviews and checking out a few pictures...everything looked good and I figured I'd stop in. I'm so very glad that I did. The subs were huge, filled to the max, and everything was fresh and tasty. The menu is behind the counter, up on the wall. There is also a print out affixed to the top of the counter; and, while both of these menus could be a bit more detailed and information-oriented, the folks behind the counter making the sandwiches took the time to walk me through the process. They have the best sausage grinder I have ever had anywhere. They are right around the corner from the outlet mall, and definitely worth the stop. read more

This place is AMAZING. You can order a MASSIVE roast beef sub for like $9 or $10, and they basically take a whole loaf of Italian bread, slice it, and pile like a pound of high quality meat on it. INCREDIBLE. I'm also happy to report that their other sandwiches -- such as their turkey, meatball, and italian cold cuts -- are equally great, their prices for beer are reasonable, and they have a really decent snack selection for a rural convenience store. I used to work down the street from this place prior to our office relocating a few years ago. While I miss being able to go here whenever I wanted, in the long run it's probably for the best. I mean, after a few more years of eating their massive sandwiches, I'd probably would have ended up weighing over 400 lbs. I still stop by when I'm in the neighborhood though. Always the first place I come when I get home... and now that I moved home, I have to seriously watch how often I go here...... my go to grinder from here is a Large (foot long) Roast beef with American cheese, lettuce onion and extra mayo..... the roast beef is super tasty, and the mayonnaise they use is soooooooo good. I don't know where they get it, but I wish i did. (note to self, ask about mayo) I have had just about every grinder from this place and I always seem to to go back to the roast beef.... that being said, do not discount their other grinder offerings as they are delicious. Great store! Good selection of snacks and beverages (alcoholic and non). Friendly , helpful staff. They gave us great suggestions for sights to see on our vacation. We had roast beef grinders several times- great with mayo, American cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, onions. Everything fresh and yummy! I found this place by accident while traveling and had the best sub ever. So I made it a point while traveling to get off the Thruway to get a sandwich several times. The first three times were amazing the last three times I could not believe how drastically different it was. The rolls are so un-fresh they actually break apart while you're trying to eat the sub. And the fact that they won't allow their customers to use the bathroom and actually sent me to McDonald's to use the bathroom just left a bad impression. read more

East Lee Package Store has been a staple in my life ever since I was a kid back in the 60's. Its old town feel and camaraderie is leagues above the big box stores. The hot dogs and subs are legendary as well as the owner Bob who you will find behind the counter. His knowledge of the area and everyday advice is just one his attributes.
