Fern is amazing! We adopted a doggy from Saint Louis Humane Society in January for our son. At…read morethe shelter this cute little doggy seemed very well mannered, which she really is but little did we know that she has separation anxiety. She cried and scratched up the door pretty bad when we just went downstairs to do some laundry. Well long story short.....I needed to get back home (Hawaii) but I know my son and his new best friend, Daisy, would need some help. Of course, I look on Yelp. I see only 5 star reviews for Extended Arms. So, I called and spoke to Fern for about 30 mins. I was giving her the situation that we were in and she was giving us advice. I asked her if she could come over and speak to my son and show him some of her "tricks or hints" that could help Daisy with her anxiety. She was more than willing to help us. My son was very impressed on how thorough Fern was and how much time she spent with him and Daisy. Fern is very honest and open lady. She's been helping and taking care of fur babies for many years and she truly loves it....it really shows! Thanks again, Fern.

Normally when I leave for the weekend I come home to shredded toilet paper, things knocked over, and just general destruction... But with the love and attention from Fern and Carolyn I came home to no destruction and two very happy kitties! Fern sent me pictures and videos of my fur babies while I was away which was awesome. As well, she was very flexible with my schedule and even coordinated a key swap with my sister instead of me due to my schedule. I have never used a pet sitter before and I am so happy that I found Fern because my first experience with pet sitting was fabulous. I will definitely be using her services anytime I go out of town.

Her level of communication is above our previous sitters, she replies to messages quickly and it's so nice to get an update with each visit plus photos. It was a pleasant surprise to come home to a "welcome home" setup, complete with report cards on how the kids did, and a super thoughtful touch was her asking for a touch base to make sure we got home as planned and the pets didn't need any additional checks. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to one of our fur babies last week, and after her drop-in, she left a sympathy card for us with the sweetest note. I never would've expected that and it was so touching. It's easy to see pets are her passion and I'm sure everyone else at Theuerkauf's is just as great, we've only just interacted with Lauren so far. I've already recommended their services to multiple friends!

I am most happy with her service and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a caretaker to watch over their "four-legged family" as if it was their own.

I just wanna say... it's been 1 year and 3 days since I've involved myself with this place. Tried…read moreto not think of it to be honest.. I have wanted to leave a view so many times.. I used to hold so much resentment for this facility and I still do really.. My cat passed away a year ago on this day, August 23rd. Three days prior of her passing, I took her to this place... When I dropped off my cat to be groomed. I never expected that three days later she would have died. And I can't help but think that, Her experience here had something to do with it.. My cat had regular checkups at her vet, so I was never made aware that there was an underlining health problem with my sweet baby. My cat had also never been groomed before. I found this place and read a couple of good reviews but I guess I didn't read enough of them and I certainly didn't read them on Yelp... If I had I wouldn't have chosen this place. I made it clear to the owner that she had never been groomed before, let alone a full on soaking bath. I just took her there to get her ears cleaned and her nails clipped. I asked about the dander in her Fur, and if it could be removed without a Bath, she said that she's looking a little oily and that she could probably use the bath and I expressed that she's never had one. And she said no worries I'll turn on the water and see how she does. After she cleans her ears and clips her nails. She tells me that she seems to be doing okay with the water. And that she'll go forward with the bath.. i said ok ( I assumed that for someone to work at a cat grooming place that they're experienced in bathing a cat.) So I proceeded to go to my car and wait until she was done.. I came back in about 20 minutes later and I could hear my cat yowling, While she was using a very loud machine to blow dry her.. When the owner comes out from the back she looked Like she had claw marks/bleeding scratches all over her arms and hands.( And they weren't there when I dropped off my cat.) Which made me believe my cat gave her a problem. I asked if everything was okay and she insisted that it was and that she did great. But something in me knew that wasn't the case. I honestly feel like she traumatized my cat.. Especially after getting her back to me, my cat definitely looked scared. Not to mention, the owner seemed very chaotic and spurattic with her movements.. ( I couldn't help but to assume, judging the fact that she might have been under the influence of something) 2 days later, I noticed a change in my cat. She wasn't acting normal and her breathing was very rapid. I took her into the vet and they informed me she is having problems breathing and her heart was inlarged. They explained it to me a CHF. (Congestive heart failure) And she died about a day later. The first thing I couldn't help but think was that her experience with the groomer traumatized her so aggressively that it affected her heart. And I also couldn't help but think that. She was uncaring and not really gentle with my cat. And probably forced her the bath and forced blow-dried her. And her poor little heart was probably pumping so hard.... I blame this place and I still kind of do. But just the experience that I had With that place in itself was unpleasant and didn't help to not convince me, it was the blame. I always think about my precious fur baby. But today's hitting a little harder, Being as I found her no longer with us on this day one year ago. I just wanted to share my story. Thank you for anyone who took the time to read. RIP LUCI 8/23/22

She overcharged my aunt by quite a bit by adding on a fee to have her granddaughter stop in and remove cat litter. She also gave the granddaughter a key without my aunt's prior knowledge or approval.
