What I like about this venue is that when you arrive late, they'll let you in between songs to not disrupt the performance but also not missing out. The venue in Chicago would make us wait until intermission. All the employees were super helpful and nice! Bathrooms were clean and nice. Definitely looking forwarding to seeing another performance here.

Came here after doing a brief search to find a quick bite before an Astros game…read more Located inside the Sam Houston Hotel. We had some trouble finding it at first. Then a nice gentleman Edwardo took us to the new location. The restaurant is located near the entrance of the hotel with a seperate entrance street level. But the restaurant is under construction, so they have made a mini version of the restaurant on the 2nd floor. So you need to take the side entrance to enter the hotel then take the elevator or stairs to the 2nd floor and go down a hallway to see what looks like a covered courtyard patio. The hotel is also under construction, looks like a major reno going on. When we walked in we were offered a complimentary welcome drink. It was a cucumber gin drink, very refreshing. There were a few folks doing the same thing catching drinks or food in there Astros gear. Service- was pretty good, our food and drinker server was Tatiana (sp). She recommends burger or wings so food could come out quick so we could roll out. And she was right, food came out in a reasonable time. Food- we decided on splitting the 6 wings, but comes in a dozen as well. For sauce we got the hot honey. The wings were tasty, great flavor, not too hot. Our server said it's a scratch kitchen, and I belive it. This is a great place to catch a snack or quick meal and walk to the Ice Box for the game.

The area is a nice quiet out of the way place to have a quick drink or a quiet meeting. I gave 4 stars only because I ordered an old fashioned and they clearly have not made them before. It was very thick and not mixed together.

They have fun art and furniture and a pool table. Take note that they do only serve beer and wine (no liquor). But not to worry, the drinks are cheap. My friend and I paid $7 for two beers. Score! Also note that this is a popular meet up spot for some of the Houston social bike rides. Definitely recommend!

Sometimes it pays to be spontaneous. I looked up bars after a dinner nearby. I decided on this one,…read morebut as my husband pulled up, I kind of got nervous because the outside is so sketchy looking. There is no signage so I wasn't even sure if it was open. I probably would've left, but my husband said come on let's go in. Once we open the door, we were greeted by everyone in the bar. Including a cute little dog. The bartender was so friendly. Definitely a neighborhood bar because he said he did not recognize us. I asked what kind of wine he has because they only serve beer and Wine. I loved his answer. He responded cheap wine. Perfect lol. The inside was so cool. Dark but cute lighting everywhere. And they actually played really great music. This is actually a dive bar with a great atmosphere that's not trying to be a dive bar. So like others people have mentioned, don't let the exterior dissuade you.

East End Hardware was our final stop of the evening, and overall, it was a really cool experience…read more After dinner at Nancy's Hustle, we walked down the block to East End Hardware because I had specifically looked them up and wanted to try one of their snowball cocktails. Since this was a first date, I loved that we could just walk over, grab a drink, sit at the bar and keep the conversation going. I ordered the Strawberry Snowball, made with Peruvian pisco and strawberry syrup. It was good, and the portion was definitely large enough to share, which made it kind of fun for a date. I will say, though, I think I expected it to be a little more "cocktail" and a little less "snowball." There was A LOT of ice, and I found myself wishing there was a little more actual cocktail mixed throughout it. It wasn't bad at all--it just wasn't quite what I had pictured when I decided I wanted to try one. One thing I REALLY liked about East End Hardware was the selection of board games and card games available to play while you hang out. We initially grabbed Connect Four, but unfortunately something was wrong with the bottom and it wouldn't latch to hold the pieces. So we switched over to Battleship--and that actually turned out to be really cute! We sat at the bar playing Battleship, sharing our Strawberry Snowball and talking. It added a fun, playful element to the date instead of us just sitting there having another drink. I definitely think the games are a nice touch, especially if you're coming here on a date or with friends. The atmosphere was great, too. East End Hardware has a cool, quaint, laid-back vibe that makes it easy to settle in and stay awhile. I'd definitely go back, although next time I think I'd skip the snowball and try one of their regular cocktails instead. But I would absolutely grab another game while I'm there. Overall, a cool neighborhood spot and a really fun way to end the night.
