It sounded like she wasn't aware that we had ordered the carpet from them. Communication problem. (4 of 5) See below for further details. 2) May 23rd: Josh drove from Madera with several different carpet samples. I thought he was pleasant at first then I received an email with all block letters - which sounded like he's shouting at me. (4 of 5) 3) Jun 12th: Carpet layers, Sergio & Carlos are from Fresno: They are absolute professionals. It took them exactly one hour from start to finish, including unloading their tools - through to completion of carpet installation and vacuuming. We were very impressed with their work. Sergio and Carlos are related - uncle and nephew respectively. Carlos mentioned that they're a family-run business, and has been in operation for over 26-years. (5 of 5) Overall: I was not informed that there would be three entities working on this one project. Perhaps if I had been given the contact information of the numerous people, I could have contacted them directly and not go through Kim at Carpet One. Their mode of operation seems confusing to me. With all home projects, give it time and you will come up with a few more things that need updated. After many trips to the store and lots of help from Lil Villagomez, a bathroom remodel put the master floor on hold. We handled the demo; Victor took care of the plumbing, Sergio and Carlos did a great job framing new laundry area and enlarging the shower. David and Cesar took care of texturing the walls, tiling the shower, and laying the new Armstrong floor in bathroom. They were amazing! The finished job is FANTASTIC! We couldn't be happier. Every day we feel like we are at a resort in our spacious and beautiful shower. American Flooring has been wonderful to work with and we are looking forward to coordinating a kitchen makeover next year. Our thanks to Lil, Lenny, and their crew for a job well done!!

This was our best move, he did a great job removing just the bad stained flooring (looked like dog/cat urine over time under carpet) and replacing it without losing the look. Few contractors do one or two of those things well, yet Woodworks checks every box! I hired them for a pretty big decking project. It included doubling the size of the bigger deck, adding a spa to my deck, and replacing another smaller deck. We used redwood but not just any redwood. Since the local redwood was a bit skinny, Bill went to the Northern CA coast to get some amazing wood. He used it to cover the entire large deck. To accommodate the new spa, his crew had to bust up a huge granite rock and level out the ground. Then they poured the concrete foundation. Then coordinated a crane to pick the new spa up on my driveway and somehow get it placed 75ft up a steep grade on the side of a hill, navigating over 100ft tall cedars....it was crazy! Once it was set, he also coordinated with spa company to set the spa up. After it was set up, he built the deck around the spa. Once the bigger deck was done, he replaced the supports and rebuilt the framework of the smaller deck. The results are amazing (look at the pics). Equally as impressive, he came in on budget AND hit his timeframe. Why mess around with other contractors when you can hire Woodworks?

I'm making a note here that one of the trickiest things about staining concrete is that the colour richness and hue does not really take hold until the seal and/or epoxy is applied. We went through this exercise during the staining process (as I expressed some concern for the lightness of the stain) and Chris explained the process with patience, kindness and consideration. At no point was I pressured, lied to, bullshitted or hustled to make a fast-decision or accept a job I was not happy with. He assured me that the colour would be what we wanted once sealed, and lo... it was. :) Chris knows what he is doing and his rate was competitive too! After almost an entire year spent renovating our home and working with a host of cast and characters from the Fresno area, Chris from Surface Solutions was like a gift from the Gods. A contractor who showed up on time, didn't cancel, answered his phone, stuck to his quote, and produced a gorgeous end-result was a sheer delight to work with. I trust Chris and his work and will be reaching out to him in the future for recommendations for other contractors to hire in the Fresno area who have a work ethic and quality of product as good as he does.
