East Cooper OB and Medical Center are the only people that I would see. In fact, I literally moved so that I could come back to Dr. Williamson and to deliver at East Cooper. Dr. Williamson at E.C. Ob delivered my twins and she was such a God send. There were some unexpected developments in the pregnancy and I really feel like I could not have gotten through it without her and the rest of my care team at the hospital. They were all so kind and empathetic, they really went above and beyond. Which is why when we found out we were having another (happy surprise ) we literally moved to be seen here again. Obviously God had opened up other opportunities as well but the pregnancy and having good care was a huge propelling factor in our move and decision to come back to Charleston. My second experience was also fantastic. Not as exciting, more routine but I still got to have Dr. Williamson and everything was wonderful again. I just feel so cared for with them and I wish I could have had these experiences with all of my deliveries. Could not sing their praises enough, and I will always recommend them. Not just Dr. Williamson but all the ladies in the practice! They were so nice and I would have been happy to have any of them take care of me. read more

The front desk assistant (not sure what her name is but she sits towards the back & has dark hair) is one of the most rude people I've ever met. She was so blunt, didn't offer any assistance besides sending me to another office, and had no consideration for my situation. I made an appointment March 29 and go to check in for my appointment today but she said she cancelled it because we spoke over the phone & apparently I said that I meant to schedule through another office so she cancelled the East Cooper appointment. This is not true because I remember I cancelled my appointment at another office & wanted to schedule with East Cooper for the one day I had off for the week because that was the only office that had an available time for me. I never once received a cancellation email which made me believe I was still scheduled for today -- otherwise, I wouldn't have shown up and have to deal with such a rude person. Thank God this happened though because obviously this is not the right office for me. For any employee or doctor that was not involved in this, I apologize if this review effects you but a rude front desk assistant precedes the office's reputation & you can thank that particular front desk assistant for the now tainted reputation I have of you. read more

This office was recommended to me by several friends that have established care here. I was in the market for a new OBGYN after several years of not being happy with mine. After doing some research and reaching out for recommendations I finally chose this practice. I immediately noticed when I called to make an appointment now friendly the staff was. The receptionist was so friendly and was able to book me with no issues. I was in the market to find someone close to me being that I am in Summerville but I was willing to make sure he drive for the right doctors and staff. Upon arrival I was greeted and quickly checked in. The staff was very welcoming. The CMA that triaged me was so friendly and genuinely seemed liked she loves her job. She knew I was nervous and was very accommodating and put mine at ease. I was scheduled with Dr. Cook. I initially wanted to see Dr. Stickler but she was not accepting new patients. Dr. Cook was great! She was very nice and listed to me and got to know me before my appointment. I appreciate the gown and sheet the office provided as well. I know that sounds silly but coming from a previous office who sticks you in a room with a paper sheet that does not fit your body is not comforting at all. It's the little things for us women! I also had my test results within a few days with a note from the doctor that was posted on the portal. I was shocked and thankful for that as well. My previous office would say no news is good news and you wouldn't hear back from them unless something was wrong. Thank you to this practice and amazing staff! I had a great experience here throughout my pregnancy last year! I had a previous miscarriage and they were SO understanding about my paranoia and need to know so much about the process this time around. My main Doctor was Dr Funkhauser and I loved her. She answered any and all of my questions and made me feel at ease. And the labor and delivery process with her was great! She was very attentive and made decisions fast with great results :) I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Whenever I call them regarding bill payments/ patient portal I always have a bad experience. I keep getting forwarded to another person with very long wait times. I called the billing office and the person is always so rude. However, the overall experience at the hospital is actually great, I just wish calling them wasn't such a hassle. read more

I transferred all my medical records over to East Cooper because I'd heard they were really great, I called to confirm they took my insurance and didn't see my own doctor for my "30week" check up I'm now 8months pregnant, took the the morning off of work, drove from downtown to East Cooper, showed up 15mins before my appointment filled out 20pages of information in pretty sure they had since they had me transfer everything over and they said, we're sorry we don't take your insurance it's for emergencies only! 1. That's not true 2. Why wouldn't you say that 4weeks ago when everything was transferred. 3. Now I've missed work, have no doctor and I'm weeks away from giving birth. Thanks read more

I've seen 2 or 3 doctors in this office and think they have been great. I'd give them 5 stars. The doctors are not the problem...the nurses are. They are generally unfriendly and refilling a prescription is like pulling teeth! For basic medication refills, you need to harass them for at least 2 weeks before meds are called into the pharmacy. I've run out of meds in the past waiting for them. It's ridiculous. And, the online med refill request either doesn't work either...still takes multiple phone calls to voicemails. East Cooper was amazing! Natalie was an awesome Dr. This was my first journey as a surrogate mom and they were great with it. They mad my couple feel very welcome when they visited. My C Section was very calming or calming as can be and i was told everything going on in the OR before it happened. I would recommend this OB and hospital to ANYONE!!! read more
