This taco place is a real winner! The whole vibe of this outside eatery is really chill and beachy. There is plenty of seating available for all different party sizes and the area is kept well clean. The building for ordering is also nicely kept, with their artsy, neatly pressed chalkboard menu on the wall. Even though this place typically has a line, workers are quick and the line moves fairly fast! There are so many unique, interesting options available for their tacos, like their poke and banh mi inspired tacos. I really enjoyed their batter up and ahi poke tacos. I would recommend ordering the triple play since it comes with 3 tacos and a side of chips for $12.50, which seems like the best deal. There are also appetizers like egg rolls and ceviche available, which I think may be worth a try if you are dining with a larger party. All my tacos were served hot and fresh! I was really impressed with the quality--tasty and well crafted, with specific taco shell types matching the inner ingredients of the tacos to maximize the flavor experience. The only issue my party encounter was the parking, which can be crowded and difficult at times, but aside from that I would recommend this place for anyone taco lovers! You will love their unique and diverse selection of tacos! This place is perfect for enjoying lunch and the sunny Santa Barbara weather.
Honestly it was just good! It's decent to get if you're in the area and want some tacos but I've had better spots. The service was just ok and the ambiance was a little weird since you're next to a baseball practice.
We got the three combo fish tacos, chicken taquitos, hot dog, and chips and guacamole. SO. GOOD. The flavor profile of every single component of this meal was above standard. For a refreshment stand for batting cages, we didn't expect one of the tacos to have an amazing wasabi aioli on it and the guacamole to be perfectly seasoned. Even the orange sauce on the side exceeded our expectations. Only thing I can see that could be improved is the dryness of the chicken taqultos. I'd recommend to get pork ones instead. Overall though, 10/10 would come again!
There was a bit of a line when I went, but it moves relatively fast. Parking can also be a bit of a hassle, as it is shared with the batting cage, but you will get a spot eventually if you are patient. I got the Triple Play with the spicy crispy shrimp, battered up, and ahi tuna tacos. The spicy crispy shrimp was my favorite, and if I ever return, then I will just get three of those! I also got the Beach Ball to share. The flavors were very good, but it would have been even better if the rice was still warm.
A must-have in SB! I returned as an alumni on my honeymoon trip. I've been here many times before and I recommend the triple play for the good value and variety. I recommend the crispy shrimp tacos and the battered cod tacos. The shrimp is my favorite because it's crispy but the shrimp is still tender! Bahn mi tacos used to be my go-to, but the chicken tasted like Costco rotisserie chicken now. Not bad, but also not the best.
Wow, what a fantastic surprise during our trip here to Santa Barbara. My son and I had just finished a long hike under the sun at the Botanic Garden and we were starving! He found this place on google and we drove over. It shares the space and parking lot with a batting cage. They have a very extensive taco menu but you won't find any rice/beans type of plates here. It's just a taco stand. You can get some chips and guac or salads, but no burritos either. Not even Horchata! Strictly tacos here. Christian took our order and had a very pleasant demeanor to him. I got 4 tacos, all on flour tortillas: carne asada, chicken, and grilled shrimp (2). My son got 4 as well: carne asada, crispy cod, crispy shrimp, and Gangnam style. His were all on corn tortillas except for the carne asada which was on flour. All the tacos came with a side of chips and salsa. I can't stress enough how FRESH everything was, starting with the chips. So light and CRISP and not greasy/oily at all. The meats and seafood were all extremely fresh and well-cooked. It was all simply so delicious and we inhaled all our food. The service was not only pleasant but also FAST! Our order was ready about 5 minutes after we placed it. There is only outdoor seating available and all the tables were instantly cleaned by an employee the moment people got up to leave. They have one gender neutral bathroom which was very clean! If you are ever in the mood for some tacos and happen to be in Santa Barbara, this is hands-down the place to go. We will definitely be back. 10/10!!
Best deal around! Got lucky and snagged a parking spot in there tiny lot that's shared with batting cages. There was a line when we got there on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30pm and that took about 20 minutes before we could order. All of us got the triple play which is an order of three tacos any flavor u want. I loved my spicy crispy shrimp and my families choice of carne asada and the battered up. Bahn mi had a tang I didn't love and the grilled fish was fine but not as flavorful as the crispy shrimp and carne asada. My family loved the Gangnam style, crispy shrimp, carne asada and grilled shrimp best. Hard to recommend certain tacos bc everyone has different ideas about what they like but I couldn't get over the crispy shrimp crunch with tender juicy interior. And the carne asada had such strong classic flavors because of their stunningly good guacamole! So of course if u like guac u need to order their guac and chips!
This is a very popular taco spot in Santa Barbara. There was a long line to order some tacos. After ordering, grab a table (outdoors) and wait for the name to be called on the loudspeaker. There's also a batting cage on the side. I got the Triple Play to try three different tacos. They were so good and filling! I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends when we're in Santa Barbara again!
Ordered: - 2x Triple Play with 2 ahi poke and 1 spicy crispy shrimp (5/5): We got the ahi poke and spicy crispy shrimp under recommendations from the other reviews we saw and we weren't disappointed! The ahi poke had a crispy wonton-like shell and a wasabi aioli on top which I liked a lot but my gf preferred less. The crispy shrimp on the other hand lived up to its name. It came in a softer tortilla and was very meaty. All the tacos paired super well with the complimentary orange sauce which was flavorful but also pretty spicy! Overall (4/5): We've heard great things about East Beach Tacos and had to check it out since we were passing by. This location shares a small parking lot with the batting cages. Be warned: parking here is awful. Even on an off-hour for lunch (3pm) the place was packed and there was barely any parking. The lot is super tight too, so good luck backing out if there's no space. We also had a spot stolen from us while waiting, so docking off a point purely for how unpleasant the parking situation was. Seating is outside only which we didn't love and you pick up your order from the front after placing it. Besides that, the food was amazing and we're glad we tried. We highly recommend trying out the fusion tacos instead of the traditional ones!
This place was highly recommended so I definitely needed to try it! There was a long line, so bring your patience! I ordered the Triple Play, 3 tacos, 2 grilled shrimp and 1 grilled fish. Once you place your order, you get your food pretty fast! I got my food to go, they did have outdoor sitting. My tacos were fresh and delicious. I'll be coming back here soon!!!
So glad to have found this spot! Reasonable pricing for sure considering you're eating shrimp,ahi, etc. and they load the tacos! I will say I wish there were more less spicy sauce options because they did feel lacking without a sauce but I couldn't handle the wasabi sauce or the spicy whatever that came with the ahi and bon mi. Bonus, you can hit a few balls at the batting cages while you wait or after eating! ***PS they DO have a parking lot, albeit small.
In Santa Barbara for a quick trip, and East Beach Tacos was a recommendation from a colleague's partner, and it did not disappoint! I came just before the lunch rush and once I ordered, the food was ready in less than 10 minutes. Once you order from the window, you can grab a seat in their outdoor seating area (no indoor seating). Since I wanted to try as much of the menu as I could, I went with the triple play, which is your choice of any 3 classic tacos and an order of chicken taquitos. For the tacos, I went with the fried fish, spicy crispy shrimp, and carne asada. The flour tortillas were really good and fresh tasting. While I liked all 3, I think it was a tie between the fried fish and spicy shrimp. Great flavor all around, and would definitely order again. For the 3 tacos, taquitos and a fountain drink (free refills), it was just under $25 before tip. Great value for quality food. If you are looking for a quick, tasty, and affordable meal in SB, this place is worth checking out.
Amazing fusion tacos and free entertainment with a batting cage. Perfect for a quick lunch stop. Make sure you order the triple play instead of getting them individually! Triple play ($12.50)-- 3 tacos of your choice!! Ahi Poke-- fresh fish, wasabi aioli and a thin crispy puffed up wonton shell? I was expecting a tortilla so this was a super nice surprise. It was so perfectly crunchy and stayed in tact (without falling apart crumbling over with every bite). I loved the wasabi personally but if you're sensitive then maybe ask for it without! You'll definitely taste it. Spicy Crispy Shrimp-- Tempura shrimp was fried so perfectly where outside is crunch and inside isn't over cooked!! The sauce on here I believe is the same as the free one they give you. Anything with that sauce just tastes 10x better!!! Carne Asada-- Ehhh mid. Wouldn't get again. They're known for fusion so if there's a fusion element I won't compare to authenticity.... But this was a plain regular carne asada taco and I've had better elsewhere. I want to note that each taco had different veggies and toppings so they really craft each one with care. Not just subbing out the protein and calling it a day. THE SAUCE-- This sauce was so good it needed its own category in the review. It smelled good, had salsa-type aromatics + actually had a good spicy kick + thick and creamy without actually being creamy and tasting diluted with cream/mayo etc. I don't know what they put in it and I'm so glad my friends have a low spice tolerance because MORE FOR MEEEE!!! (It wasn't actually that spicy. I'd say medium tops, but if you can barely handle a mild you might not want to add that much sauce) Tater tots (~$6)-- Not exactly sure of the price, forgot to take a picture of the side menu. But these were crunchy outside, soft and fluffy inside. Went super well just to snack on with the tacos. Came with ketchup but why bother when you have the most amazing sauce that they give you with the tacos !!! My loyalty to this sauce has no bounds I'll dip anything in it. I will say the tater tots do take awhile to come out so just factor in some extra waiting time. Also side note, they give lemons not limes here. You've been warned. Purists look away. You order at the counter and find an open seat (if any). The seating is similar to park benches so you might have to share if you go on a busy day. Napkins and water are all self serve. Clean up after yourself and return the tray after. There is a bathroom there and a small parking lot!

Anytime you're driving through Santa Barbara, you HAVE to stop at East Beach Tacos! It might look like a little hole-in-the-wall spot, but don't let the appearance fool you. These tacos are absolutely delicious and taste incredibly fresh! My recommendations are the fish, shrimp, and pork tacos. You really can't go wrong with any of them! It's the kind of place that reminds you that great food doesn't need a fancy restaurant or a big atmosphere to stand out. If you're passing through Santa Barbara, do yourself a favor and make this a stop. You won't regret it! read more
This is my go to Santa Barbara taco spot every time I'm in that area I have to go! They have some of my favorite tacos that I did not picture here but if you go... here is my go to. 1. Ahi Poke tacos (THE BEST & FAVORITE) 2. Batter up 3. Shrimp tacos Unfortunately, since I've had those 3 I don't switch it up BUT I've heard their other tacos are just as good. The parking isn't great but I somehow always find a spot. You walk up to the winder, order, and wait for your name to be called. If you go it will most likely look busy but the service is quick so don't worry. They have a lot of seating outside in the beautiful Santa Barbara weather. Also, next door they have a batting cage which I got to do with my 5 year old. He loved it and it was his first time!! Must go too! Hope this helps, because You can't go wrong! read more
We came here for our beach day lunch as tacos are great beach food! It was a short walk from East Beach and I was a bit surprised when we arrived. I thought we were at the wrong place as all I saw at first were batting cages. But there was the window to order and the menu boards I saw in all the Yelp photos... and a row of picnic tables next to the cages where you could sit and eat. They've got tacos, burgers, hot dog, but I was here for the tacos. I did the "Triple Play" (3 tacos) and I got Batter Up (fried cod), Ahi Poke, and Grilled Fish. The tacos were flavorful but I felt there was too much of the pico de gallo, aioli, etc. I feel that with really good fish tacos, the fish should be the star, not all the toppings/sauces. I loved the wonton shell for the Ahi Poke but it had way too much wasabi aioli for me that overpowered the fish. My wife enjoyed her tacos but I thought they were decent. I do give them bonus points for the unique set up- I'm a big baseball fan, so I really wished I wore shoes instead of my flip flops so I could get some swings in after my tacos! This place was a total surprise! We were passing through on Easter Sunday and needed a place to eat that was quick and open on Easter! Of course, we checked Yelp and up came this taco shop. To our surprise, we parked and headed in and discovered we were actually next to batting cages! Interesting concept! This would be such a fun date night spot! Batting cage fun, outdoor patio, and delicious tacos!? Sounds perfect. The move here is to get the Triple Play! You can pick 3 tacos from the menu. Score! It's a good deal, and you can try out 3 different type of tacos for a set price. This place doesn't serve traditional tacos, but that's okay; they're delicious! Think outside the box. They have 'Gangnam' Korean tacos, Bahn Mi tacos, ahi poke tacos, etc. My husband and I both went for the Triple Play deal, and we got our son the Fish & Chips. We all loved our tacos. I would definitely come here again, and next time, we're getting in those batting cages! read more

East Beach Tacos are the best! They have traditional (Carne Asada, Carnitas, Chicken), seafood (Shrimp and Fish - battered and grilled), and fusion (KBBQ, Banh Me, Poke) taco options. The Bahn Mi, KBBQ, Shrimp, and Poke tacos are my personal favorites. They also serve classics like burgers and fish n' chips, and have options for the little ones. They are located right next to the batting cages, so it can get loud, but it's a nice spot to sit outside and watch others bat while you play (or go batting yourself after)! A casual, non-pretentious spot to grab some great food and drinks (they do serve beer!). They are popular, so the line can get long at times, but it does move quickly as they are quick to take and serve orders. I personally love picking up their Triple Play combo, which consists of 3 tacos and some chips and salsa, and going to eat on East Beach near by. I highly recommend trying, if you haven't tried them yet. read more
We went to this place off the beaten path. The surrounding area was ok. This is more like an outdoor taco stand with outdoor seating and has batting cages, which is truly unique. The tacos were AMAZING!! We both ordered the "triple play" with Is your choice of any combination of their tacos. We both tried the battered fish, spicy shrimp and Gangnam style tacos, which are served with chips and salsa. They were all good but the Gangnam style taco was the best!! It's a must try. The bathroom was clean. Staff was fast moving, polite and all about business. All in all, 5 stars!!! read more
Great taco spot in Santa Barbara! This is always my go to when I'm in the area as you can taste the quality. The location is great since right after you're done at the batting cages you can fuel back up with tacos. You order at the window and find yourself a seat which is all outdoors so dress accordingly for those cooler days. It's fun to watch the batters too when your eating. The service is great and pretty quick. I've tried most of the tacos on the menu, except the spicy ones because I have very low tolerance, but they never disappoint. They come with a few chips which have some sort of seasoning on them which I find slightly spicy but very flavorful. Overall great spot, I'll be back! read more

Great tacos in Santa Barbara! I got the Triple Play deal, which is 3 tacos of your choosing, for only 12.5 dollars, which feels like a steal. I got the Batter Up, Banh Mi, and Carnitas. My favorites were the Banh Mi and Carnitas, which were flavorful. The Batter Up was also pretty good. Service was good, and the food came out quick. The seating area is located right next to a batting cage, which is pretty cool. There is only outdoor seating, so this would definitely be more of a pick up place with bad weather. All outdoor seating with some umbrellas. Came on a Friday around 1 pm and barely got a table. It was such a nice day. Parking lot is super small. The restaurant also shares the space with a batting cage so you could watch people bat while eating. Service was pretty quick. We got the triple play with is a better deal with the three tacos. Amazing street tacos! Service was friendly, casual walk up eatery with very good tacos! Fun to have the batting cages there as well. Outdoor seating, nothing fancy but good. Will be back! read more

Visiting Santa Barbara for the first time and stopped by to check out due to the great review and so happy we did!!! This is only a grab and go or sit outside. There is no inside dining and there is only one restroom tucked on the side. The tacos are amazing, so we had to stop by again the next day on our way out of town. There are batting cages right next door, so you can see and hear the batters. There are also long lines most of the time, so ideal if you're not in a hurry but lines go pretty fast. I highly recommend and assure you won't be disappointed. A great perk is the parking is FREE!!!!! read more

Worth the hype. Came starving and got the three taco special with the grilled shrimp, breaded shrimp, and ahi tuna. All were so delicious and filling. The sauces are pretty spicy so if you don't do spice, I recommend asking for sauce on the side. My bf got the carnitas, banh mi, and carne asada. Also all very tasty. Both came with chips and the orange spicy sauce. Fountain drink with refills Super fast to get our food and friendly guy taking our order. Cute place for a date if you want to also hit the batting cages next door :) read more
We found ourselves in SB for the day and since we were at the coast, we both wanted a really amazing fish taco. East Beach Tacos was nearby and the photos looked great. I had no idea that this was an outdoor food spot at a batting cage spot. Parking is pretty bad, especially since you have to share parking with the batting cages. Luckily we were able to get a spot as someone pulled out. It is a stand in line, order at the window spot and they call your name to pick up the food. Employees were nice. Menu is pretty diverse. They have tacos, ceviche, burgers, dogs, etc. we ordered the fish and chips, and two classic trios. Tacos were Carnitas, po boy, chicken, asada, gamgnahm style, and the spicy shrimp. Tacos looked beautifully presented and they come with a great chipotle sauce, chips and lemon. Everything was ok. For me I think the Carnitas were the best, and I am not really a carnitas guy. The shrimp was beautifully cooked, a nice layer of batter. Just a little bland. I did not like Gangnahm style, I was expecting some bulgogi beef style but it was more like chunks of asada smothered in a korean sauce. Asada and chicken were fine. Fish and chips were good too, perfect amount of batter, just still a little on the bland side. The tartar sauce was exceptional, as well as the chipotle sauce. Overall it was a decent spot. It wasn't something that blew my mind where I crave it and have to go back but if I was local and wanted to hit some balls for a few hours, this would be so much better than your typical hot dog stand fare. read more

My husband and I were up in Santa Barbara celebrating our 10th anniversary, and we were craving tacos. We saw that this place has great reviews, so we decided to check it out. The line was pretty long when we arrived (Saturday around 2pm), but it only took about twenty minutes until we could order, and then another ten minutes until we got our food. We both had The Triple Play (you choose three tacos from the menu), homemade guac & chips, and tater tots. Everything was delicious, but we absolutely loved the Batter Up (fried cod) taco and the homemade guac & chips. The Bahn Mi taco and Gangnam Style taco were also great! The atmosphere is super casual, and there's an abundance of outdoor tables to eat at once you grab your food from the pick-up window. There's a small parking lot, and street parking available (although limited). We walked up from the beach, which was an easy and enjoyable walk. There are also batting cages attached to East Beach Tacos if you want to try hitting an 85mph fast ball while you wait for your food. Cute place. Delicious tacos. We'll be back! read more
Came here on the weekend, and the line was incredibly long! There's a very small parking lot, so after finding street parking that was a bit of a walk away, we felt that we just had to commit to waiting in line. Ordered the guac and chips, blackened chicken sandwich, poke taco, gangnam style taco, banh mi taco, carnitas taco, batter up taco, and grilled shrimp taco. Tacos were pretty good, and liked the three taco deal they had. The tacos don't come with two tortillas so they can fall apart easily. I would say the banh mi taco was my favorite. The chicken sandwich was pretty good, enjoyed the fries that it came with. Happy that the guac and chips were served right when we ordered. I think this place is a little over hyped after waiting in that long line. Tacos aren't bad, but there are tacos just as good or even better with little to no wait in town. Really good food with interesting fusions (poke taco and bahn mi taco, and though I could've passed on the bahn mi taco it was interesting to try). Relatively fast service and seating is all outdoors next to a batting practice field. Gave lots of chips and tacos were really good and crunchy. read more
Right next to the batting cages are these amazing fish tacos! I didn't try the other tacos but I highly recommend the fish tacos. There's also plenty of benches to enjoy your tacos and watch your little player at the batting cage. read more

Was absolutely amazing food. The fried fish tacos were so good and so was the Carne Asada taco. The food came out pretty fast. Nice to watch the baseball. Staff was however very rude. The girl taking our order has no customer service whatsoever, but the food was great so I give it a four out of five stars read more
Small little hole on the wall that's near battle cages. Parking limited. Outdoor seating. Tacos were good but not the greatest I've had. Out of the three tacos only one was flavorful. The asada had you wanting more and the banh mi taco was just okay. Definitely there's plenty of better places to eat tacos. Staff were friendly and kept the table cleaned. This place is really good and somewhere you wouldn't expect to find good tacos. Came here on a recommendation from my wife. This is a small location located next to batting cages and very none assuming. Little shack where they crank out food and then outdoor seating. I had ordered the triple plate with batter up (fish taco), grilled fish, and carne asada. The best by far was the fried fish taco. Nicely battered and flaky fish. The carne asada was the worst... stick with the seafood. Came with chips and a nice hot salsa. Service was friendly and fair priced. Would come back for sure! read more
