I normally wouldn't bother writing a review, but my experience with Anytime Fitness (Easley, SC…read morelocation) has been so frustrating that I feel like future members should know what they're signing up for. I originally joined at the Easley location because it was convenient for me. Then, without asking me, they reassigned my "home gym" to Boiling Springs--an hour away--because I visited it a few times. That decision was made without my knowledge or consent. I broke a rule and brought my young daughter to work out with me. The next day, I was locked out of the Easley gym yelled at l, and sent a vague email warning. I responded that same day requesting to cancel my membership, and since then... nothing. No replies. No confirmation. No resolution. But they're still charging me. If you're looking for a gym that communicates clearly and respects your time and money, this isn't it. I've had to escalate to corporate and file a BBB complaint just to try and get someone to acknowledge me. There are way better gyms out there. This one might be "24 hours," but apparently their customer service is stuck on silent mode.

I've seen apartment complex gyms with more extentive equipment options, and more recent upgrades. This gym is almost always vacant. You'd have to be smoking crack to think it's worth $60 a month. I'm most upset I didn't cancel my membership sooner.

There is childcare available so there are fewer issues with underage types in the pool or on the floor. And most of the members are either supportive or at least nonjudgmental. I have had very few problems, I think in my almost two years now I have only been maybe three days where something bugged me, and several really good interactions. The staff is also pretty cool, and I expand on them in their own section near the bottom of this review. I had placed cleanliness under the cons at a certain point but have to say the last few visits - at least for me as a swimmer who stays in the wet areas - have shown definite signs of improvement within the bounds of the humanly possible. So why not a full five stars - well... IFFY: As a swimmer, I have to say that now that it is summertime getting into the pool will always be iffy, require substantial social bravery, cooperation (and lane sharing), or will be impossible at certain times a day as crowds increase with the temperatures and also because Crunch rents out the pool to a local swim charity for lessons. Not saying this is a bad thing, it's awesome, but absolutely check the schedule before you go if you only have a limited time to be there like I do. Looks like 5-6 am and then 9 pm to 10:30pm are best for slow swims or beginners. And please, please, please - if you do swim here at least try to learn the basics of pool etiquette in advance. You can google the basics online. They are not in the contract or posted anywhere I can find and (rarely) conflicts can arise. I usually rely on the judgment of the affiliate program swim instructors when they are present. But really, just be kind, be courteous, and above all be patient. PARKING: here is ALWAYS an issue. You may have to circle several times. Also use turn signals. A lot of folks here come and just sit in their cars with the engine running after a session in order to rest. So signaling let's them know you are waiting. And DO NOT PARK in the FIRE LANE. This makes sense and is legitimate. If you choose to be a jerk and do it anyway, know this facility does not hesitate to tow people in that lane. STAFF: That said, please note these are NOT problems created by the staff here and that my original review for staff friendliness and atmosphere still stands, although the staff has changed. The new staff still seems to be pretty awesome, tho, with very rare exceptions.
