She even refers out if she does not think that she is a good fit for your pet(s) (because of the limited equipment she can take with her to your home or because she knows other vets who specialize in a specific treatment such as extensive dental procedures), which is very honest of her because she could just take your money and waste your time but she DOESN'T! She is extremely knowledgable and keeps up with current medicinal practices in both conventional and holistic medicine. She is excellent with acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Class IV Laser therapy, examinations, dietary care, senior care, puppy care, everything! She is responsive in her correspondence and even sends you your pets records after your exam so that you have them at your convenience in case you need to go to another vet. She has helped me and my pets tremendously and I believe so much in her abilities as a veterinarian. I do not know what I would do without her! I can't believe these negative reviews for a second! They sound like two very bitter counterparts who have intentionally come to attack her many, many years later at a completely different practice. I was a local so I know a fair amount of the clients that Dr. Smith has served and have never heard anything but gratefulness for the pets she has helped to care for and love. What sets Dr. Smith apart is that she is attentive to every owner and every pet in more detail than your own primary care doctor would spend on your human health care!

I established care with Holistika Veterinary Clinic in 2024 with one of my cats (I have two)…read more During my first visit I spent over $1,000 on consultation and services. Because of the cost, I needed some time before bringing my second cat in. During that time my second cat had a medical emergency -- a urinary blockage. I rushed him to the emergency vet, where the bill escalated quickly since everything was out of pocket. The emergency vet suggested that to save money, they could give me my cat's urine sample so my regular vet could run the lab tests instead of running them at the emergency hospital. I immediately called Holistika Vet because they were the only veterinarian I had an established relationship with. I was extremely distressed and crying because the emergency vet had told me there was a 50% chance my cat might not survive and that follow-up with my regular vet would be important. The receptionist told me it was their policy that they could not see my second cat because he had never been examined there before. I explained that I understood the policy but asked if they could at least run the urine tests (which I would pay for) to help us understand what caused the blockage. Unfortunately, I was told they could not do that either and that the tests would have to be done at the emergency hospital. The conversation felt very cold and unsympathetic during a moment that was extremely frightening for me as a pet owner. Fast forward to February 2026 -- I scheduled an appointment for both of my cats. A few days before the appointment I received an email canceling it, stating they would no longer see my pets because I had given attitude to the receptionist during the emergency call months earlier. I went in person to speak with management to explain the situation and my perspective. I was told they had no record of the conversation but were still refusing future care. For me, the most disappointing part of this experience was the lack of compassion during a very serious emergency and the refusal to even run a test that could have helped guide my cat's care. Thankfully, I have since found another holistic veterinarian in Glendale, California who has been incredibly supportive.

We came here to look for more natural alternatives and met with Dr. Chau. In the short session we had today, we learned about options and recommendations we haven't heard before (herbs, additional tests, and many other potential solutions we can look into). We left feeling more optimistic about potential natural solutions for our fur baby. Our pup is aggressive and bit one of the techs during the saliva sampling - we were absolutely mortified and felt so terrible but the whole staff was so understanding. Everyone there is so sweet and we look forward to the partnership to find a long term solution for our dog. We left with Chinese herbs to help with his severe skin allergies so I'm excited to see if these help him out in the next few weeks! We will also have a follow up consultation once his food allergy test results come back (it's about a 2-3 week lead time).

I know that my dogs are always in good hands when I bring them to Glendora Pet Care Center. Unfortunately, one of my dogs crossed the Rainbow Bridge after being hit by a car. My other dog also crossed the Rainbow Bridge at 14 years old last week, and Dr. Huang gently helped him and made sure he was comfortable the whole time. We received a beautiful card with handwritten notes from all the staff and Dr. Huang a few days after and it was very touching and much appreciated. Unfortunately, she doesn't work every day and the days we are able to bring our cats in, she does not work those days. The care our cat received was good. They couldn't give us a definitive answer to our cat's problem. They seem to have a high priority of selling food and other products. Also, there is no onsite emergency services. We had the pleasure of Dr. Susan Chao come out to our home on Friday, March 20. We had a 9 am appointment (the first one of the day) and she arrived a little before. She had called me about 15 minutes prior to let me know that she would be arriving within 15 minutes. When she arrived, my husband and I greeted her and had her walk to our backyard, as this was the place I had wanted for our little girl because she loved being in the backyard to sunbathe. Dr. Chao was wonderful at guiding us through the process, explaining every step of the way and allowing us to take our time to say goodbye to Muffin. She also allowed us to give Muffin treats during the process (Muffin's last meal was a chicken nugget from Burger King and pureed chicken that Dr. Chao brought, which Muffin really did enjoy eating). Dr. Chao also did cut a piece of Muffin's fur for us to keep and placed it in a small plastic box, which she put in a small mesh bag and gave it to us as a keepsake. Muffin passed away on March 20, 9:31 am. Dr. Chao gave us some time to spend with Muffin right after and just walked towards the side of the house so that we could have privacy. Afterwards, she placed Muffin in a basket and then we walked with her towards the front of the home so that she could take Muffin with her to eventually be cremated. About two weeks later, I contacted Hearts and Halos to ask if Muffin's ashes were ready for us to pick up (please note that the company can also mail your pet's ashes to you, but we just preferred to pick it up in person). I had a hard time getting ahold of them via telephone, so I emailed the company and was able to arrange for a pickup time. I was told via email that someone was supposed to contact us that day that I had emailed them about Muffin's ashes though... This past Thursday, my husband and I went to Gardena to pick up Muffin's ashes (please note that Hearts and Halos office is now in transition to moving to Hungtinton Beach). When we arrived, an employee came out and gave us a small gift bag, that held her ashes, seeds to plant in her memory and also a small brochure regarding aftercare and additional resources for the grieving process. I do like the box that her ashes came in and also I love the small wooden heart with her name engraved on it and a small halo right above her name. The total cost for these services is $840 (you can pay via check, cash or credit card). You can also have additional items, such as an urn (which cost $60) or your pet's paw print, that will cost extra. If you do not wish to have your pet's ashes back, the cost would go down to $675, in which your pet will be part of a communal process to preserve their ashes and then will be scattered in the company's memory garden. Just as a price comparison, when we had to put down our other 2 dogs at the vet (both of our other dogs were of an emergent case and so we would not have been able to plan for their euthanasian earlier and so we would not have been able to utilize these home euthanasia services even if we had known about them at the time), at minimum, it would have cost $455 if we had made an appointment and had this service done during the day. However, both times we had to rush our dogs to the vet were during after hours and without an appointment, so the cost was around $560, which also did include their ashes. So, these home pet euthanasia services can cost an additional $100- $300 more but we felt it was worth the cost. We did not have to rush and deal with the stress and anxiety of the car ride from our home to the vet and also sit in the waiting room while they prep our dog and then say goodbye to them in the vet's office (where both of our dogs really hated going to the vet). The ability to allow Muffin to be in the comfort of her own home and to have foods that she enjoyed during the process was worth it for us. I highly recommend home pet euthanasia at home if you can afford it. I like to think that this was the much better choice for Muffin and hope that she was happy with her chicken treats right before she left us, keeping her in good spirits than to be stressed and anxious if we had chosen to bring her to the veterinarian instead. Thank you Hearts and Halos for helping us during this process.

Made sure the bath was elevated for ease as my dogs are small. Even warned us of a German Shepard getting blow dried before we got started. They've got all the amenities, from towels, shampoo & conditioner (you're welcome to bring your own) and a variety of deshedding brushes. A literal pet spaw! Today was a different experience, everything was great till the very end. There was a groomer there and I asked if they can do a nail trim, (which I usually do myself or regularly at the vet) My frenchie is a 4 yr old 18lbs dog... a little bit on the hyper side but the groomer lost his patience and had an unnecessary attitude. To the point of claiming my frenchie 'bit him' (He does NOT bite) I was there, my daughter was there, and Javier was there if he needed help to get him settled we were all there. At the same time, if you CAN'T do it, just say so and keep it professional. I mentioned to Javier that I regularly take him to the vet for a nail trim and the groomer's words were "there's also plenty of vet techs to assist in holding him down!" That was unnecessary banter and again if you CAN'T do it, just say so and keep it professional. Aside from that, I WILL def be returning regularly for self service wash because everything else is great! Javier called back to apologize for today's experience so it def shows he cares. 10/10 recommend.
