Now the value... some gyms pin you down with 4 sessions a week or just 1 martial art. At this gym, you get unlimited classes to Gi BJJ, NoGi BJJ, Muay Thai, MMA, Wrestling, fitness. There's also a recovery room with things like red light therapy, massage boots, vibration plate, sauna, cold plunge, hyperbaric chamber. There's showers, lockers, and there's a coffee bar. If you're a parent like me, who wants their kid to be taught self defense but still very weary about the actual tournaments/sparring/etc say no more what I love about MAI is that all the senseis here have actual skills plus HEARTS! they hear us parents our with our annoying concerns and talk to our kids and build confidence, focus on building each skill-set, and not create competitive edge where it causes tension amongst the kids but camaraderie and real life skill sets on how to defend one's self in situations (which even I watch to pickup some moves haha). Now, keep in mind kids will be kids and you do have some sparring days that can be jarring, but again the senseis have all been there to be super supportive to make sure everyone feels safe! Besides regular lessons, they have awesome special field trip days, special ninja nights, and other fun activities! Highly recommend this dojo!

When I arrived, the employee asked, "Do they want the water park too?" I replied, "That's why we're here." She then told me it was an additional $10 per person. What wasn't made clear is that the $10 only covers one hour. After getting inside, I learned you have to keep paying for every additional hour. For comparison: Castaic Splash Park 2 kids = $70 total Parent = free Adventure Lagoon (calculation based on 3 hours - though I chose this place to come for 4 hours since it was advertised as same price for all day) 2 kids admission = $70 Water park fees = $60 Parent admission = $35 Total = $165 So instead of spending the day at a beautiful lake surrounded by nature, we paid more than double to be at a small water park surrounded by warehouses. The website prominently advertises the day rate and has a big "BOOK NOW" button, but the hourly water park fees are not made clear upfront; you have to literally scroll below the pricing and "Book Now" to see them. Showed up on the day to rent bikes and they allowed us to try a few before deciding. The bikes could be in better condition, most of the fleet were showing significant wear. One of our e-bikes had low battery charge and even though someone was able to bike out to where we were to delivery another battery, the replacement was also low and wouldn't be enough for the time we rented. We also lost time waiting for the other battery. However, kudos to the staff and owner because they made it right for us when we returned the bikes. Spot has good staff and a great location. Refreshing the bikes with newer models would bump it to 5 stars.
