They did a nice job selling and installing, to a degree. They also replaced a few eaten plants, but not after push back. When the owner finally came out to see for himself, he admitted they should not have been planted in the first place. The sales person promised "we don't plant deer food" (knowing this was a major concern for us) yet the owner admitted after the fact that they knew the hydrangeas planted were being eaten "70% of the time." Then later on, the owner berated us, telling me the deer in our neighborhood eat anything and we should just deal with it. If they knew that we didn't want to buy deer food and that it's impossible in our neighborhood, they should have not lied up front stating everything we were being sold would not be even tasted by deer. If we had known the truth, we wouldn't have bought the expensive plants they recommended - they knew that - which is a major flaw. After the owner admitted the hydrangeas were being eaten and they never should have been planted, weeks later he said "oh they looked beautiful." They replaced the hydrangeas finally, but not after push back. Then admitted to us that they took the nibbled hydrangeas and put them in for another customer (used plants) after replacing them with boxwoods. They charge a premium for these plants and who knows how often they do this to people... The low rating is mainly due to one major oversight and their reactions to each simple question or issue we had. We were new to this process and paid almost $3800 for the work, so we had questions now and again, but in our first issue with the hydrangeas they replaced, the men were combative, listened to react rather than to understand, and were defensive and rude. They also texted lengthy notes skirting around the issue rather than calling us like requested. But later accused us of things they were doing (with the owner having no involvement in the sale or install, yet telling me what we "chose" and how things were, without really knowing the truth, or bothering to listen). Weeks later we found they had made a huge blunder for someone in their line of work - they buried all the sprinkler heads so deep (some measuring 5, 7 and 11 inches down) that most of the heads would not come up to water properly after our irrigation professional came to turn the system on (it worked perfectly before the landscape install when the system was tested months prior). Our irrigation professional determined that one broke completely due to the heavy dirt that turned to mud, on top of a few inches of mulch, which they laid over all of the areas without a second though for functionality. When I approached the subject with the owner, I was insulted and not allowed to even speak. They are unprofessional, rude and in our experience, treat women in a disrespectful way. They promised later on to have their irrigation company come unbury the heads, and we never heard a word from them, so now we are going to have to dig up expensive landscaping to not only locate the buried heads, but have them repaired. At minimum, all I asked of them is that they unbury the heads - simple - but it was a major mistake they would not take ownership for. It's what we teach kindergarteners... listen to understand rather than to react. They haven't learned this lesson yet, or that the customer is always right. We are very reasonable people and we let many things go, while trying to work with them, but they got hostile. We have used many vendors for our homes in over 15 years, and they are the only one we've had to fire due to mistreatment. read more
