a day ago NEW First I would like to say how much the staff blew me away with their kindness. Just from speaking to them over the phone, I could really tell that they were personable and jolly people. You don't always find that nowadays so I wanted to make sure that I let them know that during my tour. I was not able to remember everyone's name but the receptionist with the fade and the receptionist with the brunette hair and glasses were very kind and down to earth whenever I had questions or concerns about anything. Even the Financial Secretary (if I'm not mistaken) has been kind to me throughout our short experience with Early Beginnings. Unfortunately, my son and I were not given a chance to experience the extension of kindness in its totality due to being excused from the daycare after my son only attended a day and a half. On his first full day (8/14/23) I was told that he had some problems with listening and getting into the routine which caused problems within the classroom. I attempted to try and talk to his teacher about it the following day but was told that it was understood that this was his first daycare experience and to let some time go by so he could become acclimated (8/15/23). By 11am that same day, I received a phone call with my son crying nonstop in the background and was asked to pick him immediately. Upon my arrival, the Financial Secretary (I believe that was her position) spoke to me about how the environment was overstimulating for my child and how Early Beginnings does not have the staff to give him the extra attention he needs to acclimate him at this time. This truly upset and hurt me to my core that after just a day and a half of enrollment he was being asked to leave. The swiftness of it makes me feel uneasy and uncertain about any interventions or extra care that was taken during that time to help him, if they were given with patience and understanding at all. My son is not a neurotypical child but you are not able to notice it upfront. It is more obvious during social settings. Regardless of whether or not he is a neurotypical child, he should've been given a fighting chance to show whether or not Early Beginnings really would've been "a good fit" for him or not. A day and a half is not enough time to observe whether or not any child will be able to adapt to routines or learn to interact appropriately within a classroom and with peers. I really hope in the future the company will reflect on how unfair this quick termination is to any child and how it effects the child and parent emotionally to be turned away so quickly without any offerings of adjustments, interventions or even a conference with the Director and/or Assistant Director. Please take into consideration that every child you enroll will not always be pleasant or easy to teach and that it will require dedication, work and genuine love for what you do to assist any child in this World. read more

After two years of our child going here (and graduating pre-k might I add), we can truly say we had a great experience. Even with the transition of her going to a different class once she got older, the experience of both classrooms were great. The teachers love the students like Their own, but including healthy boundaries. My child loved her teachers so much she would look forward to Going to "school" and would have a story to tell About all she learned and did for the day at pick Up. Early beginnings really made enrolling our daughter at a new school pleasant for both of us. The communication is great and modern from the apps used, Cameras in class and the emails from staff; you are able to have open communication with the teachers and staff. The staff is knowledgeable and it's amazing how they Learn and know all of the students to greet them upon arrival. They have all kinds of fun activities for the kids and sometimes parents too. I loved the theme days! It kept the day exciting and the kids look forward to going to school. If you are not one of the people who are ashamed to discuss the goodness of God, I believe you'll enjoy this place as they have values in forgiveness, prayer, and love. I also love the diversity of the students and staff, that truly mirrors the world we live in and gives your child additional layers. We felt comfortable with our Child going here and though she graduated pre-k, she is still mentioning her previous teacher over the Summer. My child was not enrolled as an infant, however as a 3-5year old, we loved every bit and she learned a lot!Thank you for all that you do! I pray this place continues to grow and keep God first. Having two kids (2-3) and being that both mom and I work, and have crazy schedules it's really nice to have this place. Very positive feeling every day from front desk, to drop off. So far zero negative experiences, and on a regular basis we get a phone call/text/immediate update. As a former elementary school teacher, you would see lots of kids come to school unprepared, not having a good foundation in learning and structure. The kids coming from this program that play and interact with my own children are all pretty advanced, especially in language skills. I like that prayer is still involved with the kids before meals. Nice to see that in schools. The parents night out that happened one Saturday per month was a great perk, and all of the other add ons.(Dance, spanish, soccer) Would recommend to anyone! read more

I can not say enough about Early Beginnings! From my first conversation with Charice I knew this was going to be the place for my family. We fell in love with the teachers and administrators. The director has gone out of her way to build a relationship with not only my daughter but myself. Both of my kids have been enrolled at Early Beginnings since they were 6 weeks old, and they are now 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 and are thriving. My kids are so loved from the moment they get out of the car until the moment we pick up in the afternoon. The administration is very supportive and loves my kids as if they are their own. The teachers communicate extremely well and share praises as well as things we can work on at home, which I love! I am always amazed at what they are learning about, and how smart they are! They learn how to communicate well, and can tell me what they are learning about in their classrooms. My walls are covered in art projects! They truly embody their mission of loving and growing the whole child as my kids know the rules (and the orange chair if they forget them! :) ) but they also know how to treat people kindly and share. I love the Fall Festival and other events they do to celebrate our kids. I've been especially impressed with how they have navigated the new territory of COVID-19 and have taken tremendous steps to ensure my kids are still loved fiercely but are also safe! his place is full of mess. This was my child's first experience with a daycare and it was terrible and traumatic for him especially his first day. On his first day, my husband saw some questionable behavior on the camera and went to pick him up early and when he came out of the daycare he was crying and saying his teacher (ms Frances) yelled at him and was mad at him, that shouldn't be any child's first day experience at a daycare. We moved him to another classroom thinking it was going to get better but unfortunately it didn't. My child endured a week and a half there until we pulled him out and during that time frame my child told me on several occasions how his teachers yelled at him and was mad at him. There are other issues I have but I am not going to go into detail about them. Some of the staff needs better training with communication skills and transitioning skills for newcomers. I tried this daycare and it didn't work out for my child and I would not recommend this daycare to anyone else. read more

I have a BS in Early Childhood Education. I have worked with children in various capacities over the years from a preschool teacher to Director of three childcare centers in MA. What upsets me most about day care centers is that often the children are not the centers first priority. Nor are the families. I took a job as an infant teacher here. I'm brand new to NC. I knew I could walk into this job. EB was up for renewal of their Stars accreditation. They have 3/5. I was in a small room with up to 10 babies. We had 9. From day one there was a different teaching assistant in the room with me WHEN they had one to give me. Every week sometimes more than once they would change the room, remove cribs, add cots, remove high chairs, give infants chairs to sit in that proved to be a major safety issue. I often didn't have enough places to feed the babies or a place for me to sit while doing that. I had 8 month old babies with a range of ages up to months of age. We had a small area to diaper change where we had to climb over a shelf to do that over 50 times a day. I pushed for a proper gate but the ones they provided were easily pulled over by the children who could pull up on them. Numerous accidents would have prevailed but my reflexes are quick. If a childcare center wants to improve their Star rating they can hire more help, have a smaller child/teacher ratio like 2/8 which they used to have, or increase the amount of space in the room. The option this center went with was to add a comfy area and a block area. Which is why 1 year olds had to sleep on cots. I never got the cots or required cot sheets. Mostly I feel badly for the babies. The amount of paperwork and logging of different things consumed the day and left very little time to sit and read a book, play on the floor or hug a baby for more than a few minutes.. I'm going to Nanny again. I hope more families go that route, or choose family childcare instead. Centers like this offer poor care especially for the ones who pay the most! read more

This is one of the best daycares around town. From the Director,staff & teachers I'm very grateful for the loving care and guidance they provide for my children. I've noticed in alot of daycares the Directors have to do alot of paper work and alot of hands on things to run the center they don't have the opportunity to engage with the parents. This is not the case here. The Director is always here before the center opens ready to greet the parents and children with a welcoming smile. Words cannot express the thanks that my family has for each and every teacher and staff person that's been a part of my family for almost 4yrs. If you're seeking a family oriented and learning environment for you child or children. This is the place for them. read more

One of the best daycares that my daughter has attended! My daughter started Early Beginnings when she was 18 months old and she cried every single day for about a month but they made me feel welcome to call and check on her anytime I felt the need. She had a hard time transitioning to the larger class sizes after coming from a small daycare where she was 1 of 3 students. Can't say the place is perfect because nothing is perfect but I never had an issue or concern that wasn't addressed in a timely manner by the owners, the director or the teachers. My daughter will be 6 soon and she now attends the after school and summer camp that's owned by the Early Beginnings founders and I have no complaints with these programs. If I had another child I would definitely enroll that child into Early Beginnings! read more

I absolutely love this place!! My family moved to Mount Holly in August and I wish so bad we would've found this place from the start! My 4 year old went to a daycare center and he really started to have alot of listening issues bc of the poor staffing at that center. But the staff at Early Beginnings stood by me and helped me every bit of the way! They offered me support, made me feel like family, and showed me options on how to help my child. As a mom, it isn't easy to admit your child needs help. But when you actually have the teachers standing with you and telling you it's going to be ok and they will help you....that means more than the world!!! My son woke up EVERY morning excited to go! He has only been there for 1 week but he is finally back to himself after 2 months :) thank you to ALL the staff at Early Beginnings!! read more

My son used to go to this daycare. The staff is always late. Sometimes they don't get in the parking lot until 7:05 and they are supposed to open at 7:00am. The directors will work with you and they are generally nice and sweet. I feel like the owners are very detached and you get the excuse that they are 'busy' and that's why they never contact you back when you ask them to call you. The facility is clean and well kept. We came to this location because it was said to be a Christian oriented daycare. We were sent to wonderful teachers but the Director and assistant stunk up the place fast. They created a stressful and unprofessional atmosphere with not only their own employees but with the parents as well. They have constant billing issues which had them consistently in a rude form confront multiple parents and accuse them of not paying and 3-4 months of the bill. Beware if you are set up on autopay! Common sense would say there was something wrong with that yet when proven wrong the director would unprofessionally roll her eyes and from then out never to speak. When Asked to speak to the owners directly , it fell on def ears and irresponsibly the owners see and hear the feedback from employees and parents and yet they still allow this to happen and refuse to speak with parents. Not one more dollar will go into this place from us. With all this nasty behavior the director will taunt you and say "we will pray for you. In the end this will catch up with them. Its just a matter of time and folks speaking up. I believe the state needs to be involved here and they just maybe getting a call. read more

I was not pleased with the quality of care my child received while attending this CDC infant program for the brief time they were there. The environment is not nurturing. There are few toys available for the children to play with and the toys that are there are old and lack attraction/lust. The toys were boring. The teachers do not engage with the children except for feeding or changing diaper other than that I felt my child was on their own. There was no reading of books or any type of lesson plan being done to at least introduce the infants to basic phonics. To me it was just not a good fit for my family because I prefer my child to receive nurture loving care and for the provider to be engaged with my child and concern with their well being. read more

This is an expensive day care not to the level they say to be. They have rude and unprofessional administration staff. Teachers are just babysitters, they don't keep a close eye on kids and accidents happen often, they don't try to teach kids to play together and cleanliness is a problem. read more
