Mike Cento is a true craftsman. He took 2 pairs of shoes, resoled them, cleaned them up, polished…read morethem, etc., and now they are like new shoes. One of the pairs, my Footjoy Classics Spikeless, stopped being produced in 2009 so I wasn't sure how difficult of a project this might be for Mike. Turns out they look better than they did when they were new! More support, better constructed, and they look brand new. Mike took a pair of shoes that were literally falling apart and brought them back to life, even better than before. These Footjoys look better than anything Footjoy sells these days! Mike did such a great job that I dropped off another pair when I picked up my last 2 pair. And I have about 3 more pairs of shoes that are in need of being recrafted, Cento Shoes will be wear I am taking them. (Instead, they left the strap hanging from its other attachment point, dangling uselessly, and *closed* the hole it left when the strap tore out of the stitches.) So I wrote a nice note and shipped it back. And the postal service promptly lost the box, utterly beyond reclaiming. So I ended up paying for a new set of luggage after all, which I'd been trying to avoid in the first place. I called the shop, and the woman who answered told me she'd talk to her supervisor about a refund and call me back; she never called me back. Sigh. Not the small local business experience I had hoped for. :/

Now I know not everybody needs all these colors, but working in the furniture repair business and in the art world waxes in many colors is a treat. The lady asked if I was a new customer and took care of me quickly, took my info and coats and told me when they would be ready (2 or 3 days later). The price she quoted me was lower than I expected, and when I went back to pick up my items they looked fantastic! I was amazed at how nice my wool coat looked, like new!
