Horrible customer service. After frequenting this cleaner for years, they destroyed and damaged one of my garments and refused to accept responsibility for the damaged caused. When I called with questions I was met with explicatives from the owner. Shame on the management team at this establishment. Should be cited by the BBB. I took a made to order Mother of the Groom gown to Earl's to steam the slightly wrinkled skirt. After I picked up the gown and removed the plastic cover, I noticed small white fuzzy balls all over the lace bodice of my gown. I returned to Earl's to ask what had happened and left my gown to get answers from the seamstress and owner. I received a call from Sally saying the seamstress and owner said the lace was old and the person steaming "only does what they're told." They denied any wrong doing to my gown and faulted the lace. The owner of the dress shop where I ordered my dress said the lace was damaged by the steam. It was too hot and used directly on the delicate lace, this caused the threads to stretch then shrink and break, leaving the white fuzzy balls. Anyone who deals with lace should know how to properly handle it. The imprint on the paper of Earl's hanger states; "We love our customers". Apparently not enough to own up for their mistakes and damages! LADIES, don't take expensive gowns to Earl's Cleaners for cleaning, steaming or preserving! I took a pair of jeans in to have the zipper replaced. I went to pick them up and they weren't ready yet and was initially disappointed with the responsiveness of the girls working. When I called a few days later and discussed my issue they jumped through hoops to get my jeans done (even took them somewhere else since their seamstress wasnt in). I needed pants hemmed for a time sensitive school unifrom. I dropped them off on a monday and needed them by thursday. At this point I did not know they out source their alterations. They said they would "do their best" to acomadate my time crunch. I told them to let me know if it could not be done in time. I had not heard anything so I called thursday and they told me they were still not back from the other cleaners they sent them too and theyd be there first thing friday morning. Nothing I could do at this point so I lost points for being out of uniform in class thursday night. Friday I waited until noon and called again after not hearing anything. They said they still weren't there and the owner would be dropping them off within the hour. They assured me they'd call as soon as they were dropped off. 3 o'clock rolls around still no call so again I have to call them. I was told they'd call the owner and get back to me yet again. 4pm still nothing and they close at 5 so I frantically call and repeatidly sent to voicmail (apparently they have caller I'D.) Finally I get someone on the phone. Apparently my time sensitive alteration was at the bottom of their priority list and they just dropped them off that friday morning (1 day after I need them back) and they wouldnt be done until monday. If I went another class out of uniform i'd be kicked out of my program so they said my only option was to drive to the other cleaner and pick them up myself, so thats what I did. The kicker is the other cleaner already had them done and told me her turn around is one day. Had I just gone straight to the source this would have been a non issue, but instead earls had to make their buck at the expense of a customer. To add insult to injury earls refused to take my payment over the phone so now I must drive back there this following week to pay for the awful service they rendered me. I will never be using this business again. Clearly the owners convience is more important then the needs of the customer. read more

Never ever again. I was clearly robbed of my money at Earls clearners. I took in a coat to be fixed. The rude counter girl at first meet was not very nice and she was cold. I wouldn't hirer someone like this for my business. I dropped the coat off i get the ticket in the amount of 11. And change. A week later i go to pick up the coat being charged more money. The rude counter girl said the the * means they are going to charge more money. No where in the store does it say that the * meanz you will be charge more money. They didnt tell me when i dropped off the coat no explanation. The rude girl said our signs were taken down but will be put back up. They should be forced to closed for such poor business practice and the job they didnt wasn't good at all very sloppy work. I never want to do business with theae clowns again. read more

I've been looking for a reason to stop taking my business there for a while and I just received that reason. The folks working there in the morning are not friendly or welcoming at all - never a smile or even a hint of a smile, no small talk, the woman just takes the clothes, ring you up and goes on her way - a complete zero in terms of customer service! I think she and the other guy are the owners. The girls working the afternoon shifts are much more pleasant and nice. Anyway, I put on a button down shirt the other day only to have it rip along the shoulder area. I've had shirts rip before but usually around the elbow area and usually an older shirt. This shirt was fairly new - perhaps a few months old. I noticed that right next to the rip, that the shirt was stitched up. I didn't notice it because the stitch was done well and it was right next to the shoulder area so not that noticeable. The shirt very likely ripped because the tension in that area was changed, because someone stitched it up and there was no "give" in that area anymore. No one at my household would have stitched it, I can guarantee that. And the shirt was relatively new so it's not like I had it stitched up somewhere. I would have known about that. I went in to the dry cleaners to explain my side of the story. It was 7:30 in the morning, so it was the owners' shift. They were both there. They were completely rude to me. The guy suggested that I probably bought the shirt that way and no one at their business would have done it. Really? I bought a brand new shirt from Saks, that was stitched up?! He said he didn't appreciate me accusing him of doing it. I told him I was accusing him and his business because there was no other explanation that would make sense. The shirt is either in my closet, on my body, or at the dry cleaners. He was rude and dismissive and said he had nothing to do with that. He said the shirt was really old so that's probably why it ripped. I said I knew how old the shirt was because it belonged to me and regardless, the age of the shirt has nothing to do with the tear. He kind of agreed with me. I asked him if that is his final answer, and he said yes, he wasn't going to do anything about it. I was very disappointed, told him "good luck with your business," he responded with "yeah, been doing it for 55 years." I told him I won't be coming back. Looking at the Yelp reviews, seems I"m not the only one dissatisfied with their service. 55 years is a long time but I'm sure his parents who opened it up didn't treat their customers that way. If they keep this up, they'll be out of business sooner rather than later. There is a very friendly Suzy-Q cleaners literally across the street that I recommend!! The right thing to do is to give the customer the benefit of the doubt and issue a credit of some sort. I've been giving these guys few hundred dollars of business last two years. That will now turn to $0 going forward and I will spread the word to all my friends and relatives and be vocal about it. Never go there. Owner ripped my Uggs during his cleaning process then tried to return them to me with a rip on 1 boot and new stains that weren't there when I dropped them off. After waiting almost a month for a response from the owner, and stopping in and calling, got a message from one of his staff that he was "very angry, boots were heavily soiled and probably torn when I dropped them off". Really? That's how you treat customers? So that's what happens when you can't own up to your mistake. Just accuse the customer. Beware of this place. read more

Excellent, reliable service. You can them with the most expensive clothes from your wardrobe and you know they will do it right. If they can't they will tell you and will put a pin and a note stating that a particular stain cannot be removed. Very honorable and honest too. I once dropped off a pair of paints which had a $20 bill in it, they cleaned, the pants, put the $20 bill into a small plastic bag and returned it to me. So, they are good at what they do and their trustworthy, what more could you ask for?? Great place, strongly recommend it. read more

They are clueless as to style and customer service. They got two stars because the cleaning aspect is good. The problem is they sent back my entire wardrobe with pleats. Everything from summer time shorts to expensive suits are now creased and pleated. Not sure the last time I saw shorts or casual jeans pleated, but Earl's managed to do it. Awful customer service to put hard pleats in someone's clothes when they did not ask for it and not a single piece of their clothing had a pleat when dropped off. My family and I have been utilizing Earl's service for over 20 years and found their service and quality to be excellent. Any problems have been resolved quickly and with a friendly attitude.Prices are fair and accuracy of cleaning pick up date is very good. They make honest mistakes as does any large volume cleaner but they have always gone the extra mile to rectify the problem.I do believe they have been in the area for many many years and continue to service the community due to their excellent quality and great service.Part-time girls trying to earn a few extra $'s do work there on weekends and sometimes need to be retrained which in any business is an ongoing process but for the most part the service has always been far better than their competition. Not all cleaning is done on premises as is the case in many cleaners and that is usually where errors occur when relying on outside large service companies.They are and will continue to be my cleaner of choice in bucks. read more

I took a dress to be altered there. I had to bring the dress back because the hem was crooked. They assured me that it would be ready for the black tie wedding I was attending. I showed up the day of the event to find out they gave it to someone else. Two house before the event I had to go out and buy another dress. They returned my dress back to me 2 days later. Derek, the owners son, assured me they would help offset some of the cost. He never called me back and never returned the money for the bad hem job or money for the second dress that I had to buy as a result of their carelessness. I brought in a dress shirt to be laundered and get a call from an employee saying that the cleaner returned it because there were two large holes in the shirt. I went in to the store to look at the shirt and the two holes were huge. There was no question in my mind that I didn't bring in the shirt in this condition. Not one time did the employee apologize for destroying my dress shirt. Instead, she proceeded to explain to me that shirts don't last forever, this is clearly an old shirt, etc. I got the feeling that they were taking the defensive position instead of apologizing for ruining the shirt and offering to compensate me for the loss. The next day the owner of the store calls me to tell me what a dilemma HE'S in because I'm saying I didn't bring it in this way and the cleaner is saying they didn't do it. He also goes onto tell me that the shirt was worth nothing and on the ticket it clearly states they're only responsible for 16x the value of the amount of dry cleaning or $16. He continued on to tell me about national averages for life expectancy of a shirt. So I guess it's reasonable for the public to expect that once a shirt hits a certain age, it's okay for a cleaner to put two large rips in it? Again, at no time does he even come close to apologizing for destroying the shirt. By the way, the shirt wasn't that old and I wore it to business meetings and considered it in okay condition. It's unfortunate. They've lost a customer. All they had to say was we're sorry for destroying your shirt and we'll compensate you for your loss. What it would have cost them to apologize and pay a reasonable amount towards a new shirt - not the whole amount - is far less than the revenue they're going to lose from my family's business we give them. read more

Recently moved back to the area on a temporary basis. I have an important interview coming up and I wanted to look my best so I brought a few shirts and pants in to Earls Cleaners to be dry cleaned. Two of the shirts were embossed. Tiny square blocks cover the entire Calvin Klein shirt which are raised. Their turnaround time was incredibly fast. I got them back the next day only to discover they were pressed which obviously is not good on an embossed dress shirt. They were ruined! I returned to Earl's and complained to the 17 year old snotty girl behind the counter. She admitted that they could not be repaired. No kidding, really? She recommended I take them back to the store I bought them from. LMAO!!! Wow! That's your solution? Make someone else pay for your mistake? Unfortunately, her supervisor will not be in until the following morning. So I will need to get there prior to my interview. I am not leaving until I receive restitution. I am absolutely livid. Terrible place! Took my coat in to have the pocket fixed and not only did they not fix the entire rip but they put glue on leather on the part they tried! Who puts glue on leather?! When i spoke to them about this the owner was exceptionally rude and just said pay me for what i did. I said you did not even fix the entire rip and he said he didn't know i wanted the whole thing fixed - i mean really! This was the owner and he hung up on me when i was trying to explain that the rip was not fixed and that i specifically said i wanted to pocket to be sown. Who puts glue on a nice black leather coat. Save your money and time and go anywhere else - really anywhere else. Not only do they not do what you ask them, and not fix things correctly but the owner is so rude and mean. I now have to pay and extra $50 to have what he did undone and that doesn't even count how much it will cost me to have it fixed after that. All this for a simple hole around a pocket.
