All the rooms were furnished with log furniture satellite tv, they had a pool table video games bar area picnic area and play ground for the kids. Staff was super friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a peace and quiet away from town. They were only 8 miles from boat ramps to lake ohae. There were also many options from from full food service to self catering. My family choose the self catering and rented the entire lodge and was able to sole access to the large kitchen.

I didn't have the extra latch on my door and expected she would come in. What would she have done if I was at breakfast? Gone thru my stuff? I asked the front desk if that was the policy. She said no.

The lady checking us in offered the AARP rate which reduced the charge from $200 to $160. Yay!! The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The complimentary breakfast included eggs, toast, sausage, cereals, fruit and cinnamon rolls. Juice , coffee and tea available all the time in the lobby. It was a great experience- wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

My friend and I were in a terrible accident near Chamberlain, SD, while on a cross country road trip from Virginia to Yellowstone and back. We were both injured, and our car was completely totaled. We were taken to the nearest hospital, which was in Chamberlain, and after getting out of the hospital, we stayed overnight at the AmericInn until places opened and we could recover our things and book a flight home. From the very start of our arrival at the hotel, we received the BEST treatment, respect, courtesy, and help that we could ever hope for. Here we were, hours after a horrible car accident, stuck in the middle of nowhere, 2000 miles away from home, 2 hours from the nearest airport, and didn't know anyone. The front desk clerk (Dianne) offered to take us to the tow yard to recover our personal items when she got off work in the morning, on her own time! Then in the morning, we met the General Manager (Rick Santiago) who asked about what happened, and the entire staff immediately started calling friends, family, Facebook, everything they could to get us a ride to the airport in Sioux Falls, so we could fly back home to Virginia. They didn't find anyone, so Rick offered and took us to the Airport! He didn't even need to go to Sioux Falls for anything else, it wasn't on his way anywhere, or anything. Out of the kindness of these people's hearts, they helped us, 2 complete strangers, and did everything they could possibly do to make sure we got our things, and were able to make it to the airport so we could get home. I have never in my life been in a town where the people were so nice and giving of themselves to help a fellow human being. Props to the AmericInn Lodge and Suites staff, and especially to the Manager, Rick Santiago. What a special place with very special people. On a side note, the Hotel itself, was clean, the room was clean, and with a TV and fridge (which we didn't need, but it was there), breakfast in the morning (included in cost), and convenience to the highway is good for those who don't know.
