My test of a bar is always a patty melt because it is easy to screw up but when it's right it's right and they NAILED it. The patty melt was so juicy and well seasoned and they did something with the onions (maybe slightly pre grilled) where they didn't have the pungency of raw onion but still had the snap. I'm home now and am already thinking about when I can go back. This place will be in heavy rotation for us. The fries and breaded mushrooms were standard bar fair but good. On tap the beer was limited but they had blue moon available which works for me. They have chili which someone at my table got and it is on my list to try next go around. Prime rib I had a few bites shared from Lori. Was far better than one I had another time here. My own was a burger which was excellent. We have had smash burgers here in past and were great. I requested tonight but they didn't want to do, for whatever reason. Standard burger was real good though. Seems the smash version would have been a non-event to create. We all had a variety of drinks. Service was very good as usual. There isn't many choices in restaurants within 30 miles from Albion where our barrel race event is happening this weekend. This is 25 miles south and west and sure a good place to go.
