Our server wasn't rude or anything, but the energy was just completely flat. It felt like he could not care less about being there. Sodas got refilled once the entire night. Between being seated and appetizers, and again between appetizers and our entrees, he was basically nowhere to be found. The thing that really got me was being asked if we wanted boxes while our plates were still full and we were just sitting there having a conversation, never once offering to top off our drinks until we finally asked. It's a shame because the food really was solid and the restaurant itself has a nice warm vibe to it. ORSO clearly has a lot going for it and on a different night with more attentive service it could easily be a 4 or 5 star experience. The bar itself I don't think has had any updates since like maybe 1995, and that estimate is probably generous. This bar was probably the place to be when it first opened, but now it's kind of just tired and sad. It could probably be better if they took the time & money to renovate it, but they don't really have an incentive since people go there regardless. Koot's kind of just exists, but considering Anchorage is the biggest metropolitan area Alaska has it's a confusing type of establishment to find here. Eagle River has a few festivals throughout the year that are worth seeing. Bear Paw Festival is Eagle River's yearly fair held in July. It consists of a parade, fair type booths and many activities for the whole family. Each year the Bear Paw has a different theme. Last year it was Pirates, this year it is a Circus theme. Some of the events include a slippery salmon toss, outhouse races and a salmon cook-off. Eagle River Scottish Highland Games is held at the Lion's park every June. If you like the sound of bagpipes and watching large men throwing even larger objects about, this event is for you.

However the toppings could've been improved with better bacon, and maybe a touch more spinach. Even a small dollop of Béarnaise sauce would've been better than the Parmesan. Nevertheless this was probably my favorite bite of the night. The halibut on the fish & chips was also fresh flaky and really tender. The chips were like thin steak fries that had been battered but were still under seasoned. They weren't great, and no one ate them even our toddler who loves fries. The blackened halibut on the salad was tougher, and dry. There were too many store-bought croutons and the salad dressing was possibly store-bought too and bland for a Cesar. The ribeye was totally sad. It was quite thin and unimpressive especially for the cost. It came with more of those dismal fries and some plain broccolini. Our steak-loving dinner companion only ate about half and didn't care to doggy-bag the rest so it went to waste. Calamari was average, and came with two oily amateur-chef looking sauces, one mayo flavored and one somewhat spicer was basically the same as the first. Our excellent waiter mixed up a cocktail sauce himself that blew the other sauces out of the water. Bravo to him. He was the best while waiting on us also, quick to refill a water or retrieve more drinks from the bar. Good thing the Rockefeller was great, I'd be back for that alone ($6/per oyster) but otherwise I don't think I'd rush back to Fletcher's. Mike replied quickly and communicated clearly from the beginning so I immediately felt good about proceeding forward. He continued to communicate throughout the entire process and let me know as things came up. The job turned out to be bigger than he expected and that was communicated before proceeding further, which I very much appreciated. My mom was absolutely thrilled with the results. She told me she'd gotten so used to everything being coated in dust and fur that the whole house seems brighter. She seems brighter too! You can't put a price on happiness, but I can say with certainty it was worth every penny to lift my mom's spirits in such a difficult time. So, thank you Mike and team. You made a very unpleasant time easier for us and I can't thank you enough for that!

I hired Michael and his team to clean a family member's home while they were hospitalized. I let…read morethem know it needed to be cleaned from the walls in due to concerns with infection and good air quality. It was a bigger job than I anticipated but they were amazing! My family was not happy about having strangers come clean their home but I held firm and told them it was a medical and safety concern. Fortunately, my family did a complete 180 after meeting them and seeing the transformation. They decided to hire Michael and his team for regular housecleaning appointments. I am so happy I don't have to worry about this anymore...thank you so much Michael! As a side note on trust and integrity...one of the workers found a $100 bill that fell out of a book and promptly turned it over. We weren't even paying attention when it was found, honesty is everything!
