Had high hopes with this course, pictures and location looked super nice however was super disappointed when I got there. The range is Aweful with beat up mats, physically destroyed and dirt caked balls. The course itself is in terrible condition, bald dirt spots litter every fairway, tee boxes uneven covered in weeds and flowers, greens have rotted spots all through out. Could be a fun and difficult track but with the condition it was just not worth the money. read more

Eagle Ridge golf course continues to go downhill. Overheard someone on the range say something to the effect that management does not seem to care to do anything as there are not enough complaints. Overpriced and your average muni is in better condition. Range is mats only and has been for over a year. But they don't bother to replace the range balls so most barely fly or are cut. Maybe you will get lucky and see a Kirkland Signature in your bucket with "practice" on it. How cheap can you get stamping lost balls. If you want a lesson how not to run a golf course, this is your place. Homeowners must be not upset enough to care or maybe management ignores them too. Go to San Juan Oaks instead, worth the drive. Eagle Ridge is better off closed. read more

This is hands down my favorite golf course in the area. It's a real shame the OWNER doesn't seem to care for the course or members as much as the hardworking staff and greenskeepers do.!! It's hard for the staff to work with such poor equipment. You would think the owner would invest more into the course instead of asking for more out of the course while straggling it to death in the process BUT... Superintendent Tom deserves a special shoutout--he goes above and beyond managing not only the maintenance side of things but also helps out in the pro shop, juggling everything thrown his way from what we witnessed that day. We played here during a tournament this week. While the course does have a few rough patches, overall it's a really fun and challenging layout. The greens are recuperating quite nicely from aerification work done. The experience was mostly great, with one unfortunate exception. We had a run-in with one of the greenskeepers--an older woman in a club cart who came flying down the path right as we were about to tee off. She jumped the curb in front of us without any regard for what was happening on the tee box. We tried to flag her down, but she responded with an angry fist gesture and kept going. We later found out from the group ahead of us that they had a similar experience with her. ( hole #14 ) It was disappointing to see such a lack of golf etiquette, especially from someone working on the course. A little respect for the players would go a long way. Hopefully, management addresses this behavior--either through training or reconsidering her role. Despite that one incident, every other greenskeeper was professional and respectful ( turning off machines or waiting for play ) we had a lovely time and are already looking forward to our next round here! read more

Well, well, I got to tell you that from the beginning of planning to end of our wedding day, Eagle Ridge staff was amazing, and every single person did the extra to make sure we had the best memories ever and I can tell you that they couldn't have done better, I wish I knew their names to mention them here. Trashy course. Some holes had no fairway that was mowed at all. Weeds were all over the place. The bunkers were in good shape, hence the 1 star. Poses as an elite course requiring collared shirts and no jeans. I saw a lady with short shorts and a tank top. Bathrooms are old and dirty. I expected a Cinnabar level course. This is way worse than any municipal course I have played at. Save your money. read more

Just played today, 12/21/24. The fairways are ROUGH. It looks like there hasn't been greens keepers around. Many areas with no grass at all, dead grass and apparent drainage issues. The greens are okay but a lot of divot marks and dead spots, probably due to lack of divot repairs. Great scenery and location but the course needs some work to change $115 on a weekend. read more

Entire track has a great range of sand, distance and undulated lies, that you can count on it to be challenging for the most skilled players of the game. Eagle Ridge has so much potential but between management and the greenskeeper they can't seem to figure out how to run a golf course. The restaurant and bar is closed. The PA system has been on full blast for years with a short that send out nothing but static. The superintendent has an attitude and can't keep a crew so he end up working 7 days a week and can give a crap less if you're putting for birdie while running the leaf blower. Tee time are wide open on a Friday for a reason. This place sucks read more

Wow! The golf course is in great shape and Manager Jack seems to understand how to run a course. Recent rain has the course in great shape and new superintendent Tom is doing all he can to fix drainage issues. Food service employees are friendly but with limited food options. Wedgwood runs the bar and food/bev. Be prepared to sit outside if they have a wedding or function. No heaters either so bundle up. read more

This course hasn't gotten the attention and work that it has so badly needed. Instead I'll be told to make sure the cart is in before sundown, or listen to the front desk argue with another customer. Best way to explain the course is it's extremely tough and unfair, whereas San Juan Oaks is extremely tough, and always fair. read more

Place was nice, we checked in a bit early and were greeted by the pro shop staff. He was helpful as this was our first time here and gave us some helpful tips. Fairways we're nice and greens were clean and bit fast. On a recent trip I stopped in to play Eagle Ridge in Gilroy. The reviews were accurate, the bunkers were in terrible condition and as stated in a review they forewarn you as you head out. They suggest playing them as ground under repair or play it as it lies. Outside of the bunkers this is a nice course. It starts out kind of docile but through the day you need to have some game on a few of the holes. The greens were in great condition and rolled true. All in all, the warnings of the bunkers is true, my advice...stay out of them! I would definitely make the trip from the east bay to play this again. Attended a wedding here and it was beautiful. Very clean and pretty with excellent service provided. The food was very good- tender meats & tasty. The wild turkeys running around were fun to watch. Clearly, We didn't golf so I can't comment on that. read more

DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE! They are not putting a penny into the grounds. All bunkers are ground under repair with a jungle of foliage growing out of them. The lake on hole 11 is covered in algae. What used to be my favorite track in this area is now basically unplayable. Golf shop says the owners just don't care and won't put the money into it, so I won't waste mine on them. read more

Over the years I have played this course and in all honesty it kicked my butt big time. After having spent more time on my game and dropping my handicap, it has been much easier. However the bunkers are in poor shape and the fairways aren't too bad. The greens are fast when the dry out and have plenty of undulations. For $40 from golfmoose coupon it is an excellent bargain. Seniors (55 and older) get 50% off. The 8th hole still kicks my butt but I have trust my game to beat it. If some money is spent on fixing the issues on the course, the course will be amazing. read more

I was a little apprehensive driving an hour and a half to play this course after reading all negative reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly. Good driving range hitting off grass. The tee boxes were good, fairways a little dry but hey it's summer. Greens were fast and true. Bunkers were the only negative. We attended a wedding here. ...hella far even coming from san jose because its by 152 through gilroy and up the hills ...but the drive in to this community is nice and scenic. Place is kinda small. You walk thru the doors to a hallway that leads to a small bare area. The bar area is loungy and offers an outside patii with a panoramic view of tgeir golf course which is nice. Their venue room has an odd layout. Thru the doors is a space that literally splits into a 'Y' form ...so on either side not only is it hard to see around the corner, the layout bring a segregated feel. Decor needs an update also. Very classic and out of date. Overall: for what this place offers, a simple wedding is doable ...a birthday gala, any party. And for that ...i am in! This review is for the golf course. I notice there are a lot of spring and summer wedding in this venue. I agree, it is a beautiful golf course. I consider this is my favorite golf course, also my home course. This course is very well maintained. The fairway and rough are trim all the time. The rough is somewhat not forgiving which presents a challenge. Usually we don't see any bald spots like a muni course. They actually have made the course easier in the last 2 years by eliminating some bunkers in the course. Overall the layout of course is challenging, yet there are rewarding holes. Played here once before, it was in way better condition than it is now. We booked our tee times in advance for 830. We show up and check in. While checking in, we are told that at 10 AM there is a tournament going out starting on hole 11 through hole 1. We are also told that if we play fast enough to play through hole 11, we will be kicked off the course. Now wait a minute... three of us are standing there listening to this from the guy in the pro shop. The guy then proceeds to tell us that we will also have a tournament teeing off immediately behind us. We have him repeat what he just said to make sure we heard him right. One person in our group says we shouldn't be at 11 until after they tee off. Another says we will just play slower. We end up on hole 9 as the pro shop announces the 5 minute call for the tournament to go out to 11. So the course is in terrible shape, the restroom/ locker rooms are a joke. No lights had been turned on. Rude staff. There were some sand traps that were to be played and some that were under repair. The bunkers were bad. No picture of the course on the card and no picture of the holes at the tee box. When we finished the round, we were told to get off our carts so that they could recycle them for the players coming out. Worst thing is that the battery could die and leave a player stranded. Even though the location wasn't bad. It still was not a great course. read more

I'm happy to see this course is getting the attention it has needed for quite some time. The bunker renovation is complete on the front nine and it has made a world of difference. The fairways are in decent shape and the greens are quick as ever. I'm excited to play again after the back nine bunker renovation is complete sometime this summer. read more

Man, what happened here? Been playing here since 2000--wasn't my favorite place but you could always count on a challenge and great conditions. These days? Not so much. They tell you up front that the bunkers are gone. They are universally terrible, just a big unplayable eyesore throughout. Take them up on their offer to play them as GUR. What they don't tell you is that many of the fairways have grass issues, as well as several of the greens. As currently presented, Eagle Ridge isn't worth $40. But they charge double. A group of friends and I, between 16 to 20, have been traveling to various courses in the Bay and South Bay Area to play them during these unusual times. We tried Eagle Ridge for the first time on August 24th and enjoyed ourselves and so decided to return on Labor Day. It's a beautiful and interesting course and can be a bit challenging, however, with the bunkers under repair currently allowing for a free drop, it makes for an enjoyable round. Evan and the staff were friendly and provided excellent customer service and we have now added Eagle Ridge to our repertoire of courses to play. read more

First time playing this course. Very challenging. Fun day all around. Tee time at 7:00am the only negative thing was the sand traps. Or lack of sand... at least I never ended up in them. Not a great day overall. Tee time was at 1pm, showed up a little early and the nice gentleman at the front desk allowed us to go out early. He also called out our name on the loudspeaker for us to tee off. As we were teeing off, an employee yelled "IT'S NOT 1 YET!!" - some way to welcome your customers! I told him the front desk guy told us we could go out AND he called our name on the loudspeaker. Like what's the big deal man? Did you not hear the starter call us? Do you see any members trying to tee off? Course is not in good condition. Brown spots all over the course and people RARELY replace their divots in the fairway... really shows how people care about this course. I'll give it some slack because we are mid-covid. Carts are disgustingly old and need to be replaced. I don't know how members can play this course every week - I'm sure they are not thrilled with the horrible conditions. There are plenty of other courses with much better conditions for the same price... I won't name them but you should know which ones they are. The ONLY positive was that we played in 3.5 hours which was astounding, but the spacing of the tee times is altered due to covid, I'm sure. read more
