They came out to our VERY SMALL (11' x 9') guest house to deal with a minor bed bug problem. The very next day, less than 12 hours later, there were bed bugs crawling on the walls. When I got ahold of the owner (Randy) he suggested I capture them to prove they are alive. I told him that I already killed them because I didn't want bed bugs crawling around, but that I had video of them. He then made a comment about needing to see the bugs live because people often mistake dead ones for live ones. Um...sorry dude. If it's crawling on the wall, it's not dead.
So, they came out a second time. I was out of town for this one, but when I returned, I awoke to see bed bugs crawling on the walls AGAIN!
It's important to note that the process of treating them that they explained to us was absolutely NOT what was done. On the first trip, they guy showed up, hooked up his equipment, and left. For several hours. Then, around 4:00pm he returned, gathered up the equipment, and left. We were told that while the room is being heated, the technician is supposed to enter roughly every 45 minutes to rearrange items to ensure that everything is heated evenly. The guy wasn't even here, so this wasn't done. He simply stripped the bed, threw it all over the place, and opened the dresser drawers. When I got home from work, the room was thrashed. The bed was torn apart and left leaning up against the wall. The sheets were removed and left laying in a pile on the floor, as were the pillows and pillow cases. The problem is, because their treatment was completely ineffective, my bedding was now contaminated, because they just left it laying on the floor.
The second trip was not much better. Based on footage from our security camera, the guy entered at 10:43 am, had his equipment setup by 10:54 am, and went to his truck. He also used DUCT TAPE to seal up the door. Upon removing it, the DUCT TAPE removed quite a bit of paint, and then the guy left the huge ball of duct tape there. Couldn't be bothered to throw it away. The guy then comes back from his truck at 2:10:14 (3 hours later) does who knows what for 16 seconds, then goes back to his truck until 4:52 (2 hours and 42 minutes later). This is when he removes his equipment and leaves. According to the owner, this guy was the #1 technician....who doesn't seem to do what the company describes as the proper process.
After noticing and killing bugs right after having them out a second time, I called Randy and told him that we wanted a full refund as they failed to perform on two consecutive occasions. He goes into some nonsense about how the contract only allows for re treatment, not refunds. Right. Sorry man, if you fail to perform, you don't get paid. That's just the way it is. He was adamant about coming back a third time to re-retreat, but I told him his service was ineffective and that we didn't want him back out. He claimed that his service works very well and is the most effective. Then why, Sir, did it not work, TWICE, on a TINY room?? If a proven method doesn't work, then that points directly to incompetence. Perhaps if they had followed the procedure that they described it would have worked.
On top of all that, he doesn't give his customers a copy of the contract that he has them sign. That's a pretty good indicator of the type of business he operates.
In the end, after asking for a refund, being told we wouldn't get a refund, and then threatening legal action, we got a full refund.
I would strongly suggest you steer clear of these guys... unless you have a bunch of money to burn. In which case, call me. I'll come over and do nothing for 5 hours and charge you $900. At least I won't thrash the place and leave trash laying around when I'm done.
One star for giving us our money back. read more
