For 2-1/2 years Ryan Cashatt gave repeated excuses and never delivered on installation of the gravestone (that we paid for). After stringing us along for a couple of years, he then completely stopped responding to emails and/or phone messages. Ryan Cashatt lied to us, strung us along, and our parents subsequently had no gravestone for two and a half years. Ryan Cashatt behaved in a completely shameful manner. We eventually had to spend additional money and go and get a gravestone directly from a monument company.

I had mentioned I had bought necklaces and a pendant that would hold ashes he had initially said he would come by to bring the ashes and fill them for me. I was very pleased at the offer... I really would prefer a professional do that Monday came and no call until 2:30pm and him saying he was going in to a meeting then would be free after that ... Then he said he wanted to come by my house and pick up the jewelry and he would go to his office and fill them then bring everything back Things were getting very odd and I wondered why I couldn't go get my moms remains. I was already paid in full a few weeks ago.... I decided to head over to the address online and just pick up my mom on my own the following day I went to the address listed online. It's a home with no signage ... But I noticed a hurst parked off to the side. I called all of their numbers asking what was going on and I only reached voicemails. I said I was uneasy with them now. I was starting to get red flags and I just wanted my mother The wife came home as I was waiting and she kept saying we could drive to go get mom, when I was indicating yes I wanted that she kinda switched gears and said she would meet me in their chapel the following day. Walking to my car she then announced that another employee in their office would actually be there, she wouldn't This was a stressful process as I was on the phone with her husband, the owner asking why it's taking so long and why I can't get the remains. 2 more days we are looking at three weeks!!!! And not one call from them but now as I'm asking for my mother the owner became extremely mean and rude, pretty much telling me off. ... His wife had walked up to my truck so I decided to deal with her. I disconnected from her husband, the owner and the way he spoke, I was already emotional from the loss of my mother but this man had no tenderness at this juncture .. I would never use this company ever again ! I very much regret using their services I guess you get what you pay for ... But I have no faith in them either It was a bad time to have a bad experience !!

They remained professional during the whole time of moving our loved one. I had tons of questions & to make matters more complicated I was leaving the country the next day. During all of my questions, changes to the obituary, etc. Mr. Akins, Curtis & other staff remained extremely helpful, understanding & professional. You don't find this type of customer service in very many businesses in today's time. I feel more then confident to take anyone of my family members to Serenity when that time comes. When those days came and went and we didn't get any phone calls we called them to see what is up. They apologized and said that it was the wrong uncle D (same first name) and it was another family member that was paid for, not my FIL, all while giving us the first and last names of some other family they were doing services for durring this time. They told us for the inconvenience we could have the $20 death certificate for free. We gave them the benefit of the doubt. Since we unexpectedly needed to pay $1000 we needed two days for our bank to transfer funds so we asked if that would delay the cremation process. We were told that it would NOT delay the cremation process and that my FIL would again be ready for pick up in a few days. The next week after still not ever getting a single phone call or courtesy call we called back AGAIN to see why he wasn't ready. We were told he hadn't even been cremated yet as we hadn't paid...if we knew it needed sent we would have paid it the first week. It took FIVE times of them telling us he would be ready before I was actually able to pick up the ashes. When I was told my FIL was ready to pick up I was never given a time or appointment. When I showed up I had to sit in the car with my 1 year old for 35 minutes because he still wasn't even there... of course after mentioning all this to the owner he, like stated before me, did not take responsibility. I was told his rececptionist didn't tell us any of that and that that didnt happen, and that because he "trains his staff so well" he "knows it wasn't a mistake on their end". He had some sticky note with "9-2" written on it and said that he wasn't there because it wasn't my appointment time and that's my fault. He did let me know that payment before cremation was in the fine print we signed, which of course is our fault for not reading, yes, but the fact that we obviously didnt know that and specifically asked and was told it wouldnt delay the process was so wrong. My FIL layed in a freezer for 2 weeks before he was finally ready 15 days later. The owner also went on to tell me information about the previous Google reviews and how he's in a lawsuit with them and why..not sure about that but either way he was giving out MORE INFORMATION about other people that he did services for! If I knew he would tell me that much about others I wouldn't have trusted him with our family member or our family information! Staff were respectful and kind. Everything was presentable as well. No photography or videos allowed out of respect.
