DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE! My dog was here for 4 days and when we picked him up he was clearly having problems breathing. The person that handed him over said, "he wasn't like this last night" mind you my father picked our dog up at 3. Once we got him to the vet we found out he was in heart failure, with an enlarged heart surrounded by fluid. We were never notified that he was having a hard time breathing never called about any issues and they never contacted a vet to see if something was seriously wrong with our dog. DO NOT GO HERE!! We took our dog here to stay for three days. The woman brought our dog out and the guy at the desk said to her "are you going to tell him?" The woman then goes on to say our dog just started a cough right before we picked him up. I automatically thought it was kennel cough. We brought our dog home and the next day he was throwing up, rapid breathing, temperature, and just wanted to sleep. I took him to the vet and they told us it was most likely kennel cough and to wait about a week. After a week goes by, I noticed our dog started loosing weight. Brought him to the vet again, they gave him antibiotics, cough medicine, X-rays, and tested him for different illnesses. The vet said that this kennel has a bad name and they should be taking proper protocols for cleaning. Still waiting on test results to see what my dog picked up at this kennel. Meanwhile my vet bill has added up close to $600. The kennel has good prices but there is a reason for that. The place is filthy and they take no cleaning protocols. I can't imagine what the actual kennels look like if even the front entrance is beyond disgusting. Please pay extra money and go somewhere else where they actually clean and take care of your dog. Bruno and his wife and staff love our two little Pomeranian girls and have taken awesome care of them for years now. I just picked them up this morning after our flight out of town was cancelled last night. So as one of the negative reviews said, I arrived today to pick up our pups unannounced and the place was extremely busy but was clean, several of the staff helped me and were VERY friendly. I think these people that complain about their dogs getting sick need to get their pets vaccinated AS THE RULES STATE against bordatella and kennel cough. GEESH!!! Bruno the owner has a heart bigger than all of CHESTER County. He saves 500 rescued doggies a month! God bless him. And he loves LOVES dogs; his young staff too! Our little girls are very nervous all the time and hesitant to go in when we get there - as are ALL doggie guests. But they come out totally fine and everyone has smiles!! read more

I was shocked by the conditions that the animals were being held in. I took a chance on boarding my dog at Eagle Kennel for a few nights, unfortunately upon my arrival I was immediately alarmed. First impression was a small, messy office. When taken to the back to see where my dog would be held, I was beyond shocked. I have volunteered at countless animal shelters and I've never seen conditions quite like this. The room was extremely cramped, the dogs were loud from the office/ waiting area but in the cage area, the barking echoed and filled the room to the point that you couldn't even hear someone speak. They mentioned its usually quiet but even when we pulled into the parking lot the barking was quite loud. The cage that was open for my dog was a concrete slab with dividers and it was wet and full of mud or some grey substance. There was a small hatch for the dogs to go out to a concrete run a few times a day. I was told he would not be taken out for walks or to play at all. He would sit in that cage until I came back to pick him up. The small dogs had it even worse, small cube, stacked cages. Very similar to what you see in a pet store. I assume they aren't taken out either and probably go to the bathroom right there in that small space. I was very hesitant to leave him but I unfortunately didn't have any other choice. I picked him up two days later and he was very happy to see me. However, he was so dirty and smelled like urine and feces. Everything I had sent with him had the same smell (blanket, bed, toys). Two days later, my dog was sick. Sneezing, congestion and thick yellow mucus coming from his nose. I had to take him to the vet and it was clear he must have picked it up from being in that environment. Its really a shame that this is how the kennel chooses to present itself. The family is very nice, I had no issues communicating with them but in my opinion the conditions were just unbearable. I really feel sorry for all the pets that are being housed there. We took both our dogs there for one night. They both came home sick with kennel cough! The manager never called me back when I called. I will never be going back to this place ever again. They obviously don't care about the animals, and have really bad customer service. The vet we go to even said that eagle kennel has bad service and they get a lot of clients that had their dogs boarding at that location with the same issue. Save your money and save your poor animals from getting sick! read more

If I could give negative stars I ABSOLUTELY. I boarded two dogs for a week and they both have been very sick since I picked them up. I called the kennel and the woman said, "well no one else got sick". My dogs went to the kennel healthy and they've been sick for the past 7 days. Also, both dogs were supposed to be groomed and one look at my Teacup Yorkie and it was obvious that she hadn't been groomed. I had confirmed the appt with the groomer. I specifically called again the day before we were coming home to remind Eagle Kennel that both of my dogs were to be groomed and when I picked them up NEITHER DOG WAS DONE. That wasn't the most exasperating part - I was charged for grooming. When I saw they didn't get groomed I asked them to take it off the bill and they took one off and not the other? Finally they removed my other dog. Never, ever again! read more

This facility is awful. The staff was rude and condescending to me. My dogs got sick the last two times i boarded them. The man who runs the place basically told me my dogs are prone to get kennel cough. If you care about your pet and don;t want to spend money on vet fees, take them somewhere else or find a sitter. read more

Early July of 2015, my pet sitter canceled on me last minute. Someone I know told me about Eagle Kennel so I called them up and made an appointment to leave my puppy with them for a week. I have never felt comfortable with kennels but the person I spoke with at Eagle Kennel assured me that the place was clean and pets have a great time there. They open at 9am so I was there around 9:20 or so to drop off my dog. After signing in, I asked to see the area where my dog will be staying. At first they seemed a bit hesitant but then the girl took me outside where all the dogs were inside kennels. It was absolutely filthy there. ALL dogs were running in their poop and pee. I asked the girl why it was so dirty and her reply was because they just brought the dogs out. I didn't think too much of it and left for my trip. On our return, my son and I picked him up and brought him home. As soon as we got out of the car, he peed in the yard but cried while peeing. It seemed as if he had an UTI. I called the kennel right away but no one answered. It was the weekend so it wasn't easy to find a vet. The vet confirmed that he not only had the Urine Infection but he also had an ear infection. It cost me over $200 to get his medications. I called the kennel again and asked to speak to someone in charge. I was told no one was available and to leave a message. Two days later I received a call from a guy there, who claimed to be in charge. I explained what had happened to my dog and his response was " he was fine when he left the kennel". He showed no compassion for my situation. No apology or concern for my dog either. I was shocked and asked to speak with the owner. I have yet to hear from the owner. Then Two weeks ago, I met a friend of mine and happen to mention my experience at Eagle kennel to her. To my surprise, she had an unpleasant experience there as well. Her dog's paws were bleeding when she picked him up after three days of stay and she said that they didn't do anything about it. Once again, they didn't seem to care. My experience with Eagle Kennel was very disappointing. They are only out there for money. They don't care about the animals! There kennel is filthy and unsanitary and that's why my dog got infected. I have been a loyal customer of Eagle Kennel for years with our dogs. We board and enjoy the day care offering as well. It's not a fancy place, just safe and dog-centric. My dogs come home from day care tired and very happy. I had a rescued dog (who has since passed away) who benefitted enormously from the socialization and advice he/we received from Eagle Kennel. When we board the dogs, they come back relatively relaxed and definitely healthy. I think because we day care there, the overnight stays are not stressful because the dogs know the kennel. I saw a couple of comments about Kennel Cough and can say we have NEVER had that issue. But I always get my dogs the vaccinations. Most recently we had our very senior dog spend a week at Eagle Kennel, and the staff took special care with her, giving her extra blankets and making sure she was eating. Yes there are fancier kennels in the area, but we're happy with Eagle Kennel. read more

We called Eagle Kennel to inquire about boarding our dog for 4 days while we were on vacation. No one answered the phone the 3 days in a row that we called during business hours. Twice we left messages as the voicemail requested saying someone will call us back. We never received a return call. We gave up and boarded our dog elsewhere. read more

Eagle Kennel and the whole team saved my vacation! The week before a week's vacation, our hound had a significant chunk of her ear removed. During recovery, the bandages caused a HUGE hot spot across the entire top of her head. She would need bandages cleaned frequently, plus antibiotics, pain killers and care from someone if we were still able to take this vacation. I already had a reservation for her at Eagle Kennel, since we have been going there for years. When I told them about the added issues, they were VERY reassuring, compassionate, and made me feel that she would be just fine without me. And of course she is! I had regular email updates of reassurance throughout my trip. When we returned, she was even better than I expected. The team at Eagle had done better than I could have done myself - and I cannot thank them enough for that. If it weren't for Eagle Kennel and my trust in their staff, I would have either had to leave my dog at the vet (not a comfortable option) or cancelled the trip. I continue to recommend Eagle Kennel to anyone needing care for their pet. They are not fancy, but they are wonderful. Consistently and unfailingly wonderful! read more
