I've been to Cartridge World in the Giant shopping center in State College several times now and they are extremely pleasant and customer focused. They go out of their way to help you. Today I brought in a cartridge that my HP printer said was having an issue, but couldn't troubleshoot because it wasn't one of theirs. I knew there was ink, but didn't know what the problem was. I took the cartridge in to see if CW could figure out the problem. The woman took it in the back, then came back just about 30 seconds later and said there is ink in it and they'll have to figure out what the problem is. She handed me a brand new cartridge to replace it. I was shocked. People just don't do that anymore. 99% of businesses act like you did something and then make some rude statement. Kudos to Cartridge World for knowing that the key to successful business is repeat customers and positive word of mouth. That's something that has been sorely lacking in the business world the last few decades. I also used to visit a CW in Dickson City years ago and they were equally helpful and accommodating.

As an IT professional, I used to recommend CW to many of my customers...but no more. Turns out, mt last laser cartridge was 30% HIGHER than I could find online (including shipping) from a 5 star supplier. I will no longer recommend CW and suggest to others that you look elsewhere for your ink.

We worked with both Jim Sr. and Jim Jr. on a title transfer for a vehicle that was purchased out of…read morestate. That transaction turned out to be much more complicated than expected because the seller provided inaccurate and incomplete paperwork. Both Sr. and Jr. were patient and professional. Because of their experience, they were able to unravel the issue and resolve it. Lohr's probably invested 3-4 hours on our title transaction and charged us a very fair and honest price for all their work and their expertise. More recently, we were closing on a property sale and needed to have some documents notarized. We actually took the documents to another Notary first. After watching my wife and I spend about an hour reviewing 240 pages of documents to make sure everything was in order, the Notary finally mentioned their price, which was $15 per notarization. In the end, this transaction would have cost us almost $200 for their services. I remembered Lohr's and called them on my cell phone. Jim Jr. picked up. He let me know they had closed for the day, but even so, he asked about our situation. I explained we had a very short window to have the documents notarized and then delivered overnight. He probably recognized the stress in my voice. Without hesitation, he offered to drive back to their office and open just for my wife and I to get our documents notarized. When we walked in, I noticed the engraved sign on the counter, detailing all their fees for various services. As Jim Jr. worked through the documents carefully, he pointed out several missing initials, which we then corrected. He explained the entire process and his fees, even though they were clearly posted. He was thorough, courteous and respectful of our time constraints. When it came time to figure the bill, Jim Jr. charged us a flat fee for all of the work, rather than a per document fee. He explained that the 'per document' fee makes sense when a customer has only a few documents to be notarized. However, he recognized that because our two documents included 6 notarizations each, that it would be fairer to charge a flat fee rather than per document. He wouldn't have had to do that. Honestly, at that point my wife and I were so grateful that he was willing notarize the documents on our very tight timetable, that we would have gladly paid the higher fee. In the end, we paid less than half of what we would have been charged at the other place, even though the personal service we received was 10x greater. In this day and age, customer service is almost non-existent. It is rare to find a business of any size that is truly willing to put the customer experience ahead of everything else. Lohr's certainly did that and more. They take a personal interest in their customers and that made all the difference to us. We are customers for life and greatly appreciate the honesty and integrity of both Jim Sr. and Jim Jr.

Despite discussing the work ahead of time and laying the fabric out on the chair, and them agreeing to phone me if they had any questions, they did the work with the fabric in the wrong direction. (Wrong according to the manufacturer's own description, every single website showing the fabric, AND what we had explicitly discussed.) Imagine buying expensive pinstriped fabric and hiring a tailor to make you a custom suit, and when it's done, the stripes go sideways across the suit! They acknowledged the error and we agreed that before paying for the job they would recover the chair (I agreed to find new fabric at my own expense, which I thought was generous since it was their mistake.) But a few weeks later they they decided instead to take me to court to force payment on their error. I would recommend that nobody deal with this business. Not only do they seem incompetent in basic principles of upholstery or customer service, they do not operate in an honorable manner.
