Lake Pend Oreille Cruises - Informative maps handed to us through out the cruise presentation

Lake Pend Oreille Cruises

Review for the Lake History Cruise, 1-2:30pm on July 2, 2020. They also have other cruise options…read moresuch as the Birds of Prey Cruise (June-Sept.), Island & Eagle Watching Tour (Spring & Fall), Full Moon Dessert Cruise (June-Sept.) and Sunset Dessert & Eagle Watching Cruise. This was a nice cruise around Lake Pond Oreille & I learned a lot of history about the area. Linda was a great "first mate" and tour narrator. Kimberly did an excellent job as "second mate," providing many detailed maps and info sheets/pictures through out the cruise. Our captain (AJ was his name I think) was a good driver and didn't make anyone lose their lunch. Everyone was very attentive and always checking in to see if we needed anything. We learned about submarines used by the US Navy on this lake, ice age facts, geology and so much more! Booking online was smooth as was the check-in at the boat. Seating was plentiful and if you chose to sit on the top (open air, chilly 52 degrees) they offered you a blanket. There is a bathroom on board in case you have to go. They also serve snacks and drinks (soda, beer, wine, cocktails) and have apparel available for purchase as well. TIPS: - Arrive 15-20 minutes before the cruise is scheduled to depart and you'll have prime choice of seating (approx. 10-12 chairs) - Bring your camera (& binoculars if you have some) because we saw bald eagles and other beautiful sites. - If you're a tipper, you may tip online at the time of booking or bring cash to tip afterwards. - If you bring your kids, they can have a chance to sit in the captains chair and drive the boat (the little boy on our cruise even got his own captain certificate!). Lake History Cruise - Ticket Prices: Adult (Ages 13-59): $25 Child (Ages 3-12): $18 Toddler (Ages 2 and under): Free Senior (Ages 60+): $23 Thanks for the enjoyable cruise and for making us feel very welcome in Sandpoint. We'll definitely be recommending this to others who visit.

*Warning* this is a negative review. I am a disabled veteran. My wife booked an eagle / castle…read moretour with this company. We took our Nephew, Niece, and their 8 year old. We arrived at the Cruise Shack about an hour early and couldn't find a parking place. We went around the lot 8 or 9 times without finding a parking spot (the Cruise company doesn't have any designated parking for its guests). As we decided to leave, my wife called the company and asked to be rescheduled or refunded and they answer was no. They told her to go park about a mile away and walk. She said that I was disabled and couldn't walk that far in the 85 degree heat (she is also a disabled vet). They then said to drop me off and then go find a parking place. She said she couldn't walk that far either. The person on the phone said well I don't know what to do for you. About 35 minutes later we get a call from the Cruise company and asked if we were coming. It was the same guy who basically just told us too bad. My wife said we just had a 10 minute conversation with you about not being able to find parking and so we left to go home. The guy said well there's a parking place right out front right now. My wife said thanks and hung up. Both people were on speakerphone for me while I was driving. Don't expect to get any satisfaction if something goes wrong with your reservation and don't expect to find parking unless you are willing to drive around for quite a while or walk a mile. Fortunately, our credit card company is refunding the charge.

The captain, who was very congenial, explains the sites along the way and some history of the area and the lake. We learned a lot! Our cruise was probably less than half booked. There was plenty of food and everything tasted good. The staff on hand was friendly and competent. The dock is easy to find. Parking was ample, although paid. My spouse had a delicious huckleberry lemonade. I had an (overpriced) glass of wine. They did promise more than one dessert (I think?) and only had one. I felt sorry for anyone who didn't like chocolate cuz that's what it was. Surprisingly nice bathrooms for onboard a small boat. Lovely views. Very pleasant overall with nice music playing as well.

I highly recommend this cruise to anyone visiting Coeur d'Alene! To be honest, I'm often not impressed with food in American venues -- and I definitely didn't expect much from a dinner cruise. But to my surprise, everything was excellent: the fish, the steak, the perfectly seasoned potatoes, and the fresh salads. Service was great too, which made the whole experience even better. We had such a fun time with friends and took tons of photos along the way. P.S. Bring something warm -- after sunset it gets noticeably cooler out on the water! Would absolutely do it again next time we're in town.
