Review for the Lake History Cruise, 1-2:30pm on July 2, 2020. They also have other cruise options such as the Birds of Prey Cruise (June-Sept.), Island & Eagle Watching Tour (Spring & Fall), Full Moon Dessert Cruise (June-Sept.) and Sunset Dessert & Eagle Watching Cruise. This was a nice cruise around Lake Pond Oreille & I learned a lot of history about the area. Linda was a great "first mate" and tour narrator. Kimberly did an excellent job as "second mate," providing many detailed maps and info sheets/pictures through out the cruise. Our captain (AJ was his name I think) was a good driver and didn't make anyone lose their lunch. Everyone was very attentive and always checking in to see if we needed anything. We learned about submarines used by the US Navy on this lake, ice age facts, geology and so much more! Booking online was smooth as was the check-in at the boat. Seating was plentiful and if you chose to sit on the top (open air, chilly 52 degrees) they offered you a blanket. There is a bathroom on board in case you have to go. They also serve snacks and drinks (soda, beer, wine, cocktails) and have apparel available for purchase as well. TIPS: - Arrive 15-20 minutes before the cruise is scheduled to depart and you'll have prime choice of seating (approx. 10-12 chairs) - Bring your camera (& binoculars if you have some) because we saw bald eagles and other beautiful sites. - If you're a tipper, you may tip online at the time of booking or bring cash to tip afterwards. - If you bring your kids, they can have a chance to sit in the captains chair and drive the boat (the little boy on our cruise even got his own captain certificate!). *Warning* this is a negative review. I am a disabled veteran. My wife booked an eagle / castle tour with this company. We took our Nephew, Niece, and their 8 year old. We arrived at the Cruise Shack about an hour early and couldn't find a parking place. We went around the lot 8 or 9 times without finding a parking spot (the Cruise company doesn't have any designated parking for its guests). As we decided to leave, my wife called the company and asked to be rescheduled or refunded and they answer was no. They told her to go park about a mile away and walk. She said that I was disabled and couldn't walk that far in the 85 degree heat (she is also a disabled vet). They then said to drop me off and then go find a parking place. She said she couldn't walk that far either. The person on the phone said well I don't know what to do for you. About 35 minutes later we get a call from the Cruise company and asked if we were coming. It was the same guy who basically just told us too bad. My wife said we just had a 10 minute conversation with you about not being able to find parking and so we left to go home. The guy said well there's a parking place right out front right now. My wife said thanks and hung up. Both people were on speakerphone for me while I was driving. Don't expect to get any satisfaction if something goes wrong with your reservation and don't expect to find parking unless you are willing to drive around for quite a while or walk a mile. My husband and I took the "Birds of Prey" cruise. We were met by Victor, the first hand on the boat, who was so personable, friendly and fun as well as the other staff members. Saw several Eagles and nests. Beautiful day and highly recommend. read more

Entire family spent the 90 minute cruise touring area known for nesting Eagles & Ospreys. Boat had Dinks and food that can be purchased, very informative deckhands explaining the history of lake and habitat of Eagles. Overall saw about a dozen Bald Eagles no Ospreys. They have a great selection of food and drinks that are delicious! And we saw lots of Eagles which were beautiful!! Emily and Linda are the BEST!!!!!! You need a picture-perfect day, and we had just that today after the coldest wettest June (evidently) on record in this area. A just-right-sized vessel with a noble history takes you out on a refreshing, mind-expanding and soul-healing cruise gently moving about this VAST lake system. The friendly and knowledgable crew makes you feel right at home while carefully ensuring the safety and comfort of all aboard. "Find the eagle! Find the osprey" gets us started right away in observing carefully the natural wonders of this magnificent area-- as we're gazing at amazing architectural-masterpiece homes, and functional summer abodes, cruising past islands rich in Native American and Victorian-era history, and feeling the fresh crisp air on ones face and the warm sun (especially on a bright late-spring day when the skies have been washed clean by rains). A fully-stocked drink and snack provision offers sophisticated oenophiles and happy little kids lots of choices, and one can either sit in a comfortable seat and relax, or hang onto the bow or stern and feel the wind sweeping cares away. You wonder, 'why go back to that rat race?' as Linda narrates the geologic history and points out birds' nests and priceless artwork along the shoreline. You're in the hands of a seasoned waterman who happens to be a fire chief, lives on the water, and an experienced mariner. You're safe. Relax and enjoy. Everyone in this area should take this cruise. Why? It puts your natural environs into perspective, gives you the 'lay of the land/lake' and puts you in your place as a finite human being in a truly mind-boggling vista of mountain chains riven by massive glacial action, and a lake the size of which dwarfs most of our U.S. lake system. The Navy has done submarine research here since WWII. So we're talking about a DEEP, secure lake where military research has been invaluable to our defense work. There are campsites to ponder exploring, mountain trails to note, and delightful small towns to visit later. Whether for family fun or a romantic twosome with time on an afternoon, this cruise is a 'must do' experience in our magnificent Northwest country! read more

two weeks ago my wife and I took the eagle bird watching cruise. Mary was in charge. Totally outstanding experience. Staff of the boat is safe, thoughtful and fun. Captain was quite experienced. Length of boat ride was just perfect. The vistas were amazing. Mary did a great job explaining the history and geography of what we were seeing. I highly recommend this company. read more
