He met us on time and conducted the entire excursion professionally. All along our 13-mile trip down the Kootenai river with Noah he guided the boat to exactly where we needed to be and pointed out the best spots to cast. Final score: Ten strikes, 6 in the boat including two white fish and four nice rainbows. Awesome! A light lunch of sandwiches made by Noah, himself, with chips, and drinks was delicious. I had a wondeful time, I got six fish, and memories that will last a lifetime.

They were perfectly cooked with a crisp outside and stuffed with a good amount of tasty fresh crab. The 2 sauces of my choice to go with the cakes are: traditional tarter sauce and then take your lemon slice and squeeze the juice on top and mix it in and the Cajun tarter sauce--it has great flavor with a little bit of spice. Drifted the east fork of the Coeur d'Alene with Justin as a guide. I have fished with Justin in the…read morepast but always in early Sept. when the Salmon were in the river. We knew the fishing mid-summer may be a bit tough with the river low and the sun shining bright. Justin picked us up in Post Falls right on time at 7 AM. His truck was clean and comfortable for the 30 drive to the Fly Shop just outside Wallas, Idaho. We planned ahead and had our license already, so we just needed to make shuttle arrangements for the truck to be at the pullout. Drift boat was clean and well outfitted for fishing. Justin supplied all the equipment and tackle for the day. We launched less than 5 minutes from the Fly shop and started fishing right away. I was in the front and caught 16-19 in. fish all day. My sister-in-law was in the back using the exact equipment and tackle caught one fish at the end of the day to save her trip. Ran into a young moose while we were anchored up and eating lunch. He entered the river and swam in our direction. we moved across river to let him by and he walked up the other side and disappeared into the woods. Unbelievable to see a moose up close in the wild. The river is closed to boats at the I95 because of construction so we had to pull out at the RV park. Justin returned us to the Airbnb at the end of the day and we said our goodbyes. I will return as soon as I can for another adventure.

We stayed this last weekend at round lake with some friends and family. We rented three sites next…read moreto each other. As soon as we arrived the people in front of us quickly got stuck because of the boulders that are placed everywhere. The people that work there sat in the golf cart and proceeded to watch them for thirty minutes. My spouse had to help with 3 others to jiggle a boulder so they can gain an inch of room. The area where they ask you to put up tents on are white rock filled area next to our fire pit and picnic table. We were asked to not use the "ground" dirt to camp but did point out many tents using this. The rules are ridiculous, no hammocks , and if you are disabled and use a cane like I do good luck maneuvering around the unnecessary costly boulders that are not an improvement but a waste of cost. Never again will I or seventeen others visit again. Enjoy your boulders.

The formation of the Kootenai Falls was said to be due to a succession of phenomena. The underlying…read moreBelt Supergroup layer of crust was the result of the despoition of quartzites, mudstones, and shale from when the area was an ancient sea floor. Next, tectonic forces caused there to be a folding action where the crust compressed up against a different tectonic plate as they were headed in opposite directions. The Kootenai River exposed the hard rocks of this Belt Supergroup including the tectonic folds and faults that now resulted in the "steps" over which the river flowed. Such violent geologic forces ultimately would give rise to the rugged Rocky Mountains that dominated the Continental Divide. This would separate the ancient seas of the west and the Great Plains to the east. The Kootenai Falls bridge was initially built in 1937 to help the US Forest Service access forest fires on the other side of the Kootenai River, but a major flood destroyed it in 1948. The bridge was rebuilt in the 1950s, and with the creation of the Libby Dam, and was protected from flooding. This particular bridge I believe was rebuilt in 2019. The best thing about it? Not many people know it's there. Worth your time to visit.

If you're in Northwestern Montana you must come here and then take a trip to nearby Glacier National Park. Right next to where you park at the trailhead to Kootenai Falls, there a little shop that sells treats and wares called "Main Street Perk 2.0 at Kootenai Falls". We got some bottled water and Huckleberry ice cream. Don't miss out on the ice cream!
