This being my first time visiting the bakery I decided to buy the scones, cinnamon rolls and a sausage and cheese roll OMG how outstanding everything was. As I was checking out I was given a slice of lemon cake (which is incredibly delicious) as I sat down after pouring myself a cup of coffee I sat down in the main room and thought about how wonderful it is to be here and enjoying my coffee. The bakery first serve me the best Maple bars and cream filled donuts; however they changed their schedule a little bit. They're offering fresh clam chowder every Friday with homemade bread and oyster crackers. The coffee is highly recommended . Stopped here on a whim after seeing they have cinnamon rolls on Yelp while rolling through town en route to Bend. It's a little off the highway, but worth it! They have a good variety of baked goods--breads, pies, cookies, brownies, scones, and of course, cinnamon rolls! They had regular ones as well as some with marionberry on top, and a pecan sticky bun. I had the regular one. It was amazing, such a perfect road trip treat! It was soft and light, not dense or dry at all--I recommend having them warm it up. It did not have a lot of cinnamon in it, but it wasn't needed. The frosting tastes like it has maple in it, which made it even better. The only thing wrong with this place is it's only open Fridays and Saturdays. If it were open on my way back home, I would get a whole tray to bring back!! read more

This is a very cute spot! We were immediately greeted and given a run down of all the amazing baked items they sold. My family was given a huge cinnamon roll to sample! We also each received a slice of the best blueberry pie I've ever had!! We did end up purchasing their sausage & cheese cinnamon rolls, frosted brownies, snickerdoodle cookies, and marionberry rolls. Sometimes fortune shines on you just when you least expect it. Our story begins in the Madras McDonald's parking lot, when, we discovered there were no public restrooms, as the lobby was closed. The main objective being the restroom, we had to quickly find another location that would meet our first goal, and also be able to fulfill our second objective of filling our tummies. Obviously, scrolling through Yelp was the first idea of trying to find someplace in a city we have never been before, and Eagle Bakery was at the top of that list. I gave them a call, and lo and behold, they were open, AND had public restrooms. It was not until as we were about to leave this bakery that we were told by a regular that this restaurant is only open on the weekends, meaning we had just lucked out (it was Saturday). The restaurant itself was very cute - decorated with homemade items (crocheted, knitted, sewed, etc.) that were also on sale. Upon entering, our confused expressions were immediate giveaways that we were strangers to this town, but instead of ignoring us, one of the restaurant workers (possibly manager?) was quick to welcome us and even provide us with a free cinnamon roll to sample (also heated up for us) as we tried to figure out what to order. The cinnamon roll was extremely well made. I am often hesitant to order these because they are usually a big gloopy mess, and sometimes the dough itself is not very fresh. However, this cinnamon roll was extremely light and fluffy (I am assuming it was a yeasted roll), and the icing was not super sweet at all. I was also extremely amazed that the roll was not just melting, but rather, held its form the whole time. The manager/worker was also quick to point out that there was also free coffee. Usually "free coffee" indicates a quality that is the gross refuse that is poorly brewed and oftentimes very bitter. However, the free coffee provided was surprisingly flavorful for a mass brewed cup! We ended up getting a frittata, apricot scone, and for breakfast the next day, a loaf of poppyseed bread. All of these were so tasty. The fritatta was a great mix of egg, bacon, sausage, while the scone and poppyseed breads were both moist and very flavorful. I am even more impressed that the bread was able to keep overnight and maintain its moisture, as I feel that these kinds of loaves often dry out very quickly. If you ever find yourself stuck in Madras over the weekend for one reason or another, give this place a try. The hospitality and food are both A+ read more

What an incredible treat it was to be informed of Eagle Bakery and to have this recommended to me to stop at when in Madras. Eagle is only open on Friday and Saturday but let me tell you, make the effort to stop in here and get some food as you will be very happy that you did. They offer a variety of baked treats from pies to cinnamon rolls, scones to biscuits, bread and other carbolicous offerings. They also have housemaid jellies which are insanely good. The biggest plus for me in regards to Eagle bakery is the staff, the proprietors are quite possibly the nicest people on the planet and you feel good supporting them and they in turn appreciate your patronage and it shows. I recently went here last Saturday. My eldest daughter has been here before the pandemic. She raved about their Snicker Doodle Cookies. We was walking by and saw they were open again. This is a cute bakery that we just happened to be passing thru the area when they were open. As they are only open Fri and Sat. They are in an old historical building. They bake lots of homemade breads, cinnamon rolls, coffee cake, etc. They also have ham (or sausage) and cheese rolls. They also offer a different special savory item on each day. We had the coffee cake. And wow!! So good. Melt in your mouth with just the right amount of topping. They even give out free complimentary coffee. Which went perfect with the coffee cake. They make everything on site from cinnamon rolls to cookies and bread. All are simple and deliciously made from scratch. Coffee is on the house. The staff is warm and friendly. I recently discovered this amazing bakery, and bought several items. While driving away and enjoying a sticky bun, I realized my charges were incorrect for what I bought. When I returned they apologized profusely for the mistake and insisted on refunding my money for everything I bought! I only wanted the overcharge amount, but they wouldn't take no for an answer. I came to nearby Haystack Reservoir to camp, and scouted nearby towns for bakeries I could hit as I passed through. I stopped into Eagle, was blown away by the cinnamon raisin roll, free tea, and hospitality. good people here spend all week making substantial wheat, white, sourdough, multi-grain and other loaves of bread, all hand made with a hand-forked crust. great cookies, other sweet breakfast treats, fresh-made rolls, they have it ALL. the hand-thrown mugs they use there are available for sale. show up early if you want the cinnamon roll, I showed up after noon one time and there was only one left. the days they are open are limited, right now (late July 2020) is just friday and saturday til 2p so be sure to double check their current hours. I think nothing of getting on a motorcycle and riding 2 hours through dark forests and trailer-infested mountain passes to get to Eagle. one down side? the heat of the summer in Madras is pretty remarkable so make sure your air conditioning works! read more

I visited over my lunch hour one Saturday. Thank goodness, I hadn't eaten yet. I was given an entire cinnamon roll and coffee, on the house. When I finished this, the staff asked if I'd like to try the biscuits and gravy, too. I purchased some frozen cinnamon rolls, fresh sausage and cheese rolls, and a maple nut roll to take to a party. This is THE BEST bakery I think I have ever been blessed to taste. They pop off so hard they were selling out of stuff just a couple hours after opening. Everything we tried was perfection... I recommend buying one of EVERYTHING. Our group of 8 ate like 4 trays of various treats before we made it back to the river. Also, they have complimentary coffee too!!!
