Eagle 9 is okay compared to my old movie theaters. I haven't been here in ages. Since I watched American Sniper. Before that, memorable movies I saw were Titanic, Jurassic Park and The Cowboy Way. Lol. It's definitely been renovated. Leather, mechanical-reclining lounge chairs with a tray and a cup holder. The only restrooms are way in the front near the snack bar. The floors are always sticky. A small Sprite was $5.25 plus tax. The candy selection was lame, therefore, I am more likely to smuggle in my own next time. Recently on June 18, 2024, I came here with my daughters and their aunt and grandmother. No one ever asked to see the tickets that I bought to see IF which was adorable by the way. But our movie was disrupted by staff members asking others to leave and/or move because they either didn't have tickets or had the wrong seats. Yesterday on June 6, 2024, I came by myself to watch Sound of Hope. Great movie by Angel Studios. When I was at the snack bar, a young girl asked to see my ticket so I showed her my phone. She wasn't particularly nice about it. She asked to see it again and then gave me a printout of a small ticket stub. They never even scan your tickets. It's the strangest ordeal. The worst part about this experience is that me and another lady went up to the front to tell them that our movie previews hadn't started when it was supposed to at 12:30PM. No apology or any explanation was made. I'm glad we said something because I don't think they were checking on our theater room at all. Dirty restrooms. Barely enough soap to wash my hands and no paper towels. It's OK for my hometown movie theater, but it certainly could be better. The staff is nothing like it was when my brother used to work here in the early 2000s. It's nothing like it used to be when Mr. Littlejohn was in charge. It was like watching a movie on my iPhone with the screen turned all the way down. Could hardly make out the picture. They must have had a burned out bulb on the projector. I went and told them and they were fully aware of the issue already. They said they'd try to adjust it, but I think it was only to appease me because nothing changed. Must be nice being the only act in town. Save your money and don't bother with this theatre. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. They need to bring back the ticket window. This is ridiculous. My partner and I arrived to buy tickets for a show at 11:50 AM, only to be told we had to wait in the same long lines as those buying food. People shouldn't have to wait 15 minutes to get their tickets while a family is deciding on snacks. We tried using the self-serve kiosk to avoid those lines, but what was supposed to be more convenient was far from it. The kiosk didn't even show our movie time because we didn't buy the tickets a minute before the showtime! When we used to have a ticket window, I was allowed to show up at the time of my movie and still get a ticket. I shouldn't have to show up early, before the previews, just to buy our tickets. Previews go on for at least 5-10 minutes to allow people time to get snacks. Why can't the self serve "convenient" kiosk allow ticket-buyers that time as well? We were able to when there was a window. And then, to not even give me the option to swipe my card? Are you serious? read more

No matter what time of day or what day it is, this theater is always packed. Wanted to see a movie here the day it came out, but of course it was already sold out when I checked online. I then looked around and bought my tickets for the next day viewing. (Saturday) I purchased them and was so glad to see they were for reserved seating. We walked up to the outside window and informed the cashier we had online tickets. She kindly took our phone, scanned the barcode, and gave us over paper tickets. We walked inside and a very friendly lady was there ready to take our tickets. She greeted us and even told us to enjoy the show as we walked away. The concession stand is right there in the front as you walk in. I was so surprised to see as to how little it is. This ain't no harkins or amc lolz. Walked to our theater and sat down. The chairs are very comfortable and spacious. The room itself isn't too big and it was already packed when we walked in. The concession stand is of course expensive. (like everywhere else) We got ourselves a large drink and nachos. The nachos would've been better if they had given me more chips then what they did. All I got was a huge blop of cheese, 200 jalapeños, and about 6 chips... The movie wasn't too good but at least we enjoyed ourselves at this theater. Yeah it might be waaaaay smaller then what I'm used too, but it does it's job. read more

The last 3 times my family has gone to the movies things have been majorly broken. Today 11/13/22 the lights so you can see down the aisles were broken. The sinks in the womens bathroom weren't working. We went to see Sing 2 about a year ago and the projector was cutting in and out, they gave us vouchers to come back. Went back with a family member to see Redeeming Love and the heater was broken in the theater. We asked them to turn the heater on they said yes. Waiting about 20 minutes and went back and said it's still not on the employee told me it was broken. If you equipment is faulty don't show movies in those theaters. If your sinks don't work provide hand sanitizer. read more

Used to be halfway decent. I would rather drive 90miles to another theater. Bathrooms are disgusting. Prices outrageous. And to top my whole experience off on today 4-24-22 we came to see the secrets of Dumbledores. 11:30 a.m. showing. Screen didn't even turn on until 12:10pm after complaints were made. My fiance and another lady trying to watch the film complained that the screen was out of focus and extremely dark. They stated they would restart the film and fix this. They refocused it but didn't restart. I went back and complained that it was still too dark. He said he would fix it and cleaned the lense and called it good. Films still too dark to make out half the scenes. In my opinion complete waste of money. I'd rather drive to lubbock midland or Odessa from now on. read more

the last two times we have gone the screen was not lined up correctly with the projector, foreheads cut off, if it was text couldn't see any of text, and no subtitles when people spoke in different language, we laughed and were like is this a boot leg. the volume was very low for a theatre, volume could be louder. I live here so I know they can do better and hope they do, we only have one movie theater and enjoy going. read more

I have never really been in a small town, and being in Hobbs, NM definitely has the small town feel! Only being here for a weekend and possibly visiting in the future, I went roaming around for the usuals... good places to eat, the mall/shopping, and the movie theater. This place was right around the corner from where we were staying, didn't even realize it was a theater! It's a small building, but the place to be to watch a movie. The popular movies were selling out, so get your tickets early! The pricing was very reasonable! Nothing I'm used to seeing in California. Matinee (before 6pm) pricing - $6.50, and after 6pm - only $8.50! They have a small concession stand, but it had your basics, popcorn, hot dogs, nachos, candy and icees. We got the premier package which included 2 large drinks and 1 large popcorn for only $12! The staff was very friendly here. We were the first in the theater and got the best seats! (The seats also have the movable arms for the couples who like to cuddle). The experience would have been perfect if I were able to get the cherry icee (it was out). I bought 8 tickets for Toy Story 4 movie stalled 4 times. 6/27/19. Sprite had to be taken back. Only carbonation. No Coke. Only one worker that seemed stressed. Not a good experience for my grandkids or the adults. When we left I should have taken a picture of the lobby. Popcorn every where straws and wrappers on the floor. Not sure what happened but bad night for such a good movie. read more

I visited this place recently with family. The staff was friendly and the hotdogs are great. Family friendly and very accommodating for handicapped. We went on $5 movie day and as packed as it was it ran smoothly. The bald manager even assisted customers to the theatre from the concession stand. The theater has recently done a complete remodel of all of its viewing rooms. Nice upgrades with reclining seats, wide aisles, and reserved seating. I recommend buying tickets online or through their app to save some time from waiting in line as they honor the e-tickets that are sent by email. The concession stand lines can be long at times and if you are a regular customer, the selection of snacks never changes. Maintaining the building clean both inside and outside are still not as good as expected. read more

25 commercials and several movie trailers, the movie (Infinity Wars) still hasn't started, after over 40 minutes of TV and local ads the movie started. Very loud sound at least from the handicapped row (the only seats left), our seats vibrated. The theater has added new recliner seating with swing away trays. This we appreciated. read more

This place is disgusting and filthy. Overflowing trash cans every where with trash and popcorn on floors -carpet!! Carpet in theater aisles was filthy and had ground in food. GOOD thing the lights were dim! My feet were sticking on the floor because of spilled soda. WHERE IS THE OWNER??? CONDITION HAVE NOT CHANGED FROM A REVIEW A YEAR AGO. Does the owner even care or just making money off the concessions?? We bought tickets online for Friday and printed them out and the employees kicked us out when we asked if it was possible to still watch the movie with the refund. Now we have to buy more tickets. If it was possible, I would give them 0 stars if possible, like, WTF?! Good employees would let us watch the movie, we PAID for the tickets, not like we didn't. read more

This theater's major problem is the sound is wayyyyyyyyyy too low.........Any major city you go to has good loud sound so you can hear no matter what is happening around you........This one is so low that even in an empty theater you have a rough time hearing the words........music is loud.........commercials are loud.........but voices are so low.........need to get that sound up.... read more

This place is a dump. The trash cans were overfilling and people were just placing the trash around the bin on the floor. I SAT IN GUM!!!! and then I almost fell over because when I stood up my feet were stuck to the floor because of the layers of dried up soda. It's the only place in town so what can you do..... I recommend the ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE in Lubbock....then come back to Eagle 9 or like I call it the GHETTO. read more

The theater was filthy! Went to a 2 ish movie on a Saturday and place had thrash everywhere! Several employee's standing around talking and should have been cleaning. No reason the place couldn't have been a little cleaner. Must be nice not having any other Theaters in Town! read more
