I wanted to put my review of Dr. Scarzella and her staff on yelp. I moved here from NJ and had…read moreprevious history with urological issues and had previous with bladder cancer. So, I was very concerned about finding a new Urologist here in South Florida. Well, I am so very happy I found Dr. Scarzella. She is amazing!! The first time I met her as a new patient I was so impressed. Dr. Scarzella was methodical in her process in getting to know me, and my urological history. She was very thorough, empathetic, thoughtful and caring while she took down the details of my health history. She did not rush the appointment and she answered all my questions and concerns. That is so important! In my experience, sometimes medical doctors can rush you through your appointment. I have left their offices feeling like the visit was unfinished or unsuccessful. That is NOT the case with Dr. Scarzella and her staff. I have been a patient for 3 years now and I couldn't imagine going to another Urologist. The staff office are equally as professional and caring! They make you feel special and well cared for every time! Anytime I call with questions or concerns someone always gets back to me that day. I honestly can't say enough about this Dr. and her amazing staff! The office is beautiful, extremely clean and that is also so welcoming. So for new patients sometime there is a wait...BUT she is so worth it!! I highly recommend her and her staff.

I never even had the chance to set up an appointment to see Dr. Scarzella: her "answering service"…read moremade sure of that by incorrectly stating that my health plan was not accepted at the office! When I began to question how is it possible to show up in the health plan network and yet not honor that plan, the woefully misinformed "screening" service agent simply chose to hang up on my call! I called back, and waited patiently but no one answered ... When I asked to speak to someone other than the lowly "answering service," I was told that there is NO way to speak to any of the clinical staff at her practice without first getting "vetted" by the incompetent "answering service!" That should have been enough to deter me from setting up an appointment, but I'm interesting in seeing just how bad things are, and perhaps file a formal complaint with my Medicare Health plan, and/or AHCA. To be continued ... ;-)

I was told to lie on a table with my pants off, and then the doctor walks in and starts talking before we have been introduced, and before I could even see who it was I was talking to. The it was, "turn on your side knees to chest," then boom, a finger up the butt. I cam in for painful prostatitis and that "exam" was incredibly painful. He then swiped my butt once with a paper towel, and walked out of the room, calling over his shoulder, pull you pants back up. He came back later, and once again did not look me in the eyes. He held a tablet and was focused on that more than me. He was obviously frustrated and upset, talking to the tablet, calling it stupid! "I hate these things" he uttered in apparent explanation. Then he was up and walking out again, saying, "FOLLOW ME." We ended up at the front desk, where he told me "The GIRL will check you out." I was so shocked i didn't have time to ask or clarify anything. What was my diagnosis? What was the treatment? The receptionist explained I was to be put on antibiotics, and to come back in month. NEVER AGAIN.
