Talked to Susan and she was awesome!!! She was very nice and helpful and took care of my issue quickly.

I'm a resident of Florida traveling through New York and EZ pass could not determine which exit I entered the toll road on so when I exited the toll road, they billed me for the full length of the toll road charging me almost $15 more than the actual TOLL when I brought this up to the agent, they said it's up to the driver to do their auditing they don't care I have been traveling to New York for many years. This is the first time I've ever audited the bill probably have overpaid all these other years not sure how this is legal but be very careful. read more

This EZ pass should be called EZ ASS. The representative was a total b***. Dee chastised me for the issue I was having and I was sweet as pie to her. The issue turned out to be they had the wrong state for the plate. Then she says I find it hard to believe you didn't receive a notice in the mail at your old address. How in the world would I know who moved into an apartment I moved out of years before. No mail was forwarded. Aside from that it's not my fault the camera doesn't pick up out of state plates in NY. EZ Pass is supposed to cover multiple states. No recourse now so I'm forced to pay late fees. No way to receive the discount BUT with this ridiculous system. NY state government should be ashamed of itself. read more

You guys actually suck. Big shout out to the call center Supervisor Felecia for being very dumb. How is it that I asked for a refund because ez pass auto replenished my account after 3 years of no use, and this dummy tried to take me through a whole bunch of hoops to get my money back. How is it that an auto renewal happened in the first place? Why was I told through case CAS-2287363-L3Q2N3 "There is no overpayment to submit a request for a refund." Then I log onto the website and there is no way to do it. How is it that this idiot was telling me the only way I could get my money back was to cancel the account and send back the ez pass devices and cancel my account. Why the f**k does it take you 2 months to even respond to the original case. And why is it now taking an extra 30 days for me to get my refund. Suck a fat one. If I don't get my money back within the next 30 days I'm going to dox the s**t out of Felecia, because she thought it was a good Idea to chuckle while on the phone with me after I told her I was pissed. Someone should probably warn her that if she did not do the right thing already she better make sure it's done. read more

Tell us about your experience: Awful. A picture says a 1000 words. They send me a text message asking us to update our payment method. As instructed, we reply "Help" for more information and to comply with THEIR request. You're then directed to a non-existent Ez-Pass logon page. You then try to leave a comment only to find out that they've disabled comments. Now they'll try to suspend my license for "unpaid tolls". Almost funny. PS: wish they'd bring the toll collectors back. They were pleasant. read more

On 5/17/2025 I was charged a violation for crossing the Gov Mario Cuomo Bridge. I did not receive the notice until 1/15/2026. I filed a dispute immediately and provided documentation that I was charged the exact date and time on my EZpass account. Response-NOTHING. I called on 3/3/26 and spoke to customer service. I was told that they would "ESCALATE" the dispute because it was clearly a mistake. April 2026 another notice but now I was charged a $60 late fee. Again, another call to the dispute line and I was met with the same incompetence. "We will ESCALTE this immediately". Again-NOTHING. 5/19/2026 spoke with dispute again. "We will ESCALATE this". I asked to speak to a supervisor but was told there isn't one in their dept that could handle this. Again-NOTHING. On 6/12 I spoke to Jared in the dispute dept. after I received a notice from a collection agency. I was told it "ASAP" will be added to the account. I said "UNACCEPTABLE". They connected me with Robert who was a supervisor in the dispute dept. Again, total incompetence! "There is nothing I can do" I said"Just take 10 seconds and look at the document provided that confirms I already got charged the toll. "I Can't, Sorry" This is the worst, most incompetent customer service department I have EVER dealt with in my life!!!!! read more

Online, the customer service is DREADFUL. I'm trying to find answers that are not on the website. The chat box online steps you down with a bot that can't answer anything, but when prompted to ask for an agent, you get another screen that requires your pass number...which is on a different screen that causes you to back out of the chat box, so you have to start over with the bot, only to ultimately get a message that the human chat feature is not working today...And is there a phone number on the site? Nope. Google that, wait on hold for 10 minutes. Oh, and if you want to close your account? No can do online, AND you have to remember the answer to your security question. Really? To cancel an account? But, NY operators are hilarious, so there's that. read more

I am a NJ resident and transitioned from EZ Pass-NJ to an EZ Pass-NY account a few years ago. The customer support experience has been wildly faster and better every single call. Frustrating and Useless Billing System I can't believe how poorly EZ Pass NY handles billing. They send emails saying I owe money, but give NO details at all--no date of travel, no location, nothing! How am I supposed to know what I'm paying for? It feels completely unorganized and unprofessional. Instead of making things easier, they make everything more confusing. Their system is a mess and their communication is terrible. Absolutely ridiculous experience. read more

I am a NY e-z pass customer for 3 years if I had a choice, I wouldn't be one. If I can rate E-ZPass at 0 I would. The app suck it doesn't notify you of hidden fees, when you call it's a long wait time, fees are excessively high, difficult to contact anyone, lack of communication, no written statements until you are in judgement, there are numerous departments, and no one can give you a clear response. There is no reason with AI and all the updated technology we have access to they are so far behind. The company operates as if they don't have millions of customers and you have to suck it up and eat it because it's using them or taking public transportation to get to your destination. read more

What a despicable scam! If you save your payment information they will make withdrawals under the guise of a threshold amount, without your approval. The latest scam is to tell you you have a zero balance, when you make a deposit yourvbalance is 3 times what they claimed. They confuse everyone into toll violations in order to steal your money. When you call the system tells you to call at another time. They are working closely with the police to scam as much money as possible from you every time you use a toll road. read more

I have been trying to set up an EZPass-NY account and receive transponders for my vehicles since August 20, 2025. EZPass has made multiple errors and has not provided me with electronic access to my account or shipped me transponders. After the first time that transponders were not sent, EZPass said they were resending them. I received a USPS tracking number from EZPass after inquiring a week later about not receiving the second shipment. It indicated that transponders were not sent. Today, EZPass reps told me they do not provide customers with tracking numbers. I have no way to access their online account system because it has been down for a month and their system will not provide me with access. I have been told I need a transponder id# to setup access to their system when my account number is not recognized, but there is no way to verify if this is the case or not. So, I have no way to see my billing information. Today when I spoke to EZPass reps, I was told they were opening an investigation on why my transponders were not mailed and it would be 3-5 business days before that was complete, and then some time after that EZPass would decide how to resolve this. Their customer service department is terrible. I am stuck in this endless loop of not receiving any service from EZPass while I continue to be charged for any tolls at a higher rate than if I was provided with transponders. I believe the NY State Government should find a different vendor to provide tool service, since EZPass is totally incompetent. read more

We have been EZ Pass NY customers for years and have never had any issues. Recently, our card was declined (unbeknownst to us), so they removed the card on file without our knowledge. They then charged us $25 revocation fee, $16 per tag fee (total of $57 in fees) and when we called to find out what was happening, the agent told us that they mailed letters to our house to notify us, but they were returned to EZ Pass (unbeknownst to us again). We received no notification at all that our account wasn't in good standing. We asked to speak with a supervisor and Darien (the supervisor) was incredibly rude and explained that it is "customer responsibility" to make sure the account is in good standing. He blamed us through the entire phone call regardless of the errors on EZ Pass's end and refused to help us with anything other than to tell us that they can't do anything except TELL US that WE should be better checking the account going forward. How often do you check every account you have that is on autopay? Working with Darien was absolutely horrible and as a supervisor I cannot believe he adamantly and rudely blamed us for something we had absolutely no knowledge of. I will be switching to NJ EZ Pass going forward so that I NEVER have to work with someone like Darien again. read more

I've had NJ EZ pass for over 2 decades. Service has hit an all time low. We added a new plate to the account and apparently the system did not take it. I'm now being charged multiple violations for a car that is registered to my account. Trying to get to customer service is impossible. They just DO NOT PICK UP THE PHONE. You can stay on for 1 hr, 2 hrs... and you will NEVER get a person to pick up. This is racketeering at its finest. Does not surprise my because it is Jersey on of the most corrupt states in the nation. They are extorting $ and you have no way to dispute because they just don't answer. The mistake is on them and they ignore you and hold you accountable. It's disgusting that they make millions a day and treat their customers this way. Only service centers are in central and south Jersey so this does not help us who are in north Jersey. Organization needs to be overhauled. read more

I tried to open an account for my son who just purchased a car in August 2024. His plate number was generated in August 2024, but for some reason the license plate was registered with another account... So we called the customer service that was very polite and tried to help, but he couldn't... He asked us to send a fax with the registration of the car. I asked him to send it on email, but he said that they can only accept it by a fax... LOL I told him that fax was used during the 80's and it's quite strange that in 2024, there is no efficient way to submit documents to E-ZPass. So, fortunately my printer has a fax functionality and I found a way to connect it to an IP phone landline. I tried to send the fax, but it didn't go... So I called them again... The woman on the line was NOT polite and didn't really listen to my issue... She kept asking for the account number and kept saying "You listen to me!!!" I tried to explain to her that there is no way to create an E-Zpass account without adding a valid license plate number, but she insisted to get the account number... At that point I said to her PLEASE LISTEN TO WHAT I AM TRYING TO TELL YOU!!!! At that point after explaining that there is no account number without a valid license plate, she told me "Let me talk to my supervisor..." After waiting for 10 min on the line, she came back and told me that their fax machine is broken... LOL And I should try again in couple of days... This is almost 2025, and this company still behaves like we are in 1972... Their website looks like 1995, and is awful to navigate... Their customer service is rude and unknowledgeable... They are monopolist who knows that there is no other choice, so why get better??? Shame on you E-ZPass!!! read more

Someone stole one of our EZ passes from a car we don't use often. It took about a month to see our bill was going up so I reached out to them. They said the charges were from our device for a vehicle with license plate that wasn't on our account. They said we were responsible anyway. They wouldn't even give us the license plate of the vehicle so we could contact police. Also wouldn't bill them for the fraudulent charge. Typical actions of a bureaucratic Monopoly. read more

For it's wait time, I have to be honest with 2 stars... However, the guy at the door giving out the waiting tickets was quite helpful and kind enough to let us know this EZPASS is for NY cases and not for NJ issue; which makes our trip in and out, not wasting too much time, I would give one more star for the helpful guy. (Someplace the staffs just don't care, and make you wait, and let the window clerk break the bad news!) Similar to DMV, coming here early side of the day helps a little..not much but it does. Plus the parking lot is always crowded and hard to get a spot. (The waiting line starts from parking lot...) They accept major credit cards. When a lot of places don't accept AMEX, they do here. read more

Took an hour on the phone with three representatives. My credit card declined two months prior. They never notified me and my account entered a negative balance of $26 over a statement period. Never got a letter, email or phone call. They added $50 in fees and happily sent a letter in the mail for that though. Meanwhile they disabled my ezpass and my account so I couldn't even log in to see or pay the balance. Phone rep said I could pay the balance and I requested to close the account if they didn't waive the fees. I told the supervisor I'm a nine year customer and always paid my bills. They didn't care but confirmed if I paid the fees I could close the account over the phone. Bait and switched after paying with the same credit card they have on file they said they can't close the account unless I mail them the request. What a joke of a company. read more

NYS Ez Pass system is terrible. My license plate is linked to an account that is in collections that isnt mine and they said there isnt anything they can do. That means anyone can put random license plates on their account and let it go into collections without the people knowing, then those people cant put their license plate on their own account. NYS did away with tolls so EZ pass is the only way to go and they are charging me 3x the amount they should be due to me not being able to put my license plate on my account. I called 6x, you wait on the line for 1+ hrs for someone to answer then never get a reaponse back or you get a tesponse back online that the issue was resolved and it hasnt been. And ezpass told me I needed to call the collections agency to remove my license plate from the collections account but they have no record of my plate. Ez pass ny operated by Mta bridges and tunnels is the worse. For a company to charge $50 revocation fee double the bill, is ridiculous. I'd give this company NEGATIVE 5 stars. This is the worst company I have ever used. Lets start with the tolls. They are always X'd out or cones in front, therefore making you go through the "cash only" section. When I didn't have the dam ez pass, then the "cash only" was coned off and I had to go through the ez pass lane. A bunch of muppets are running this company!!! and they still charge you fees. Yes they give 1-2 courtesy removals, but still, why do I have to take an hour out of my day and wait for your representative because you guys just can't get it right? The fees are RIDICULOUS. I put $25 on my ez pass account, and since I changed locations/addresses, there was no need to use tolls. Months later, my account is in the negative, yet they are still taking cash out of the account although I have not used it. This company is a scam and pure robbery. Your service sucks! Either change the way you run things or BURN to the ground. POS company. And gonna charge me $35 for penalty of service? I expressed that I worked overnights and am unable to come in during business hours because it is too far away from where I live. Did that stop them? No. I'll pay you, but fkn go to hell.
