Wow, I do not know why they get so many bad reviews. They are not maybe the best motel around town, but I have never had any problems of the 2 times I have stayed here. I recently came out here for business this time, and not for pleasure. I really didn't feel like spending a grip on a hotel when me and my boys were only going to be here for 2 nights. We got a room with 2 twin beds and a microwave and cable tv in the room. Air condition and heater was working fine. First when I got in my room the TV is a bubble TV for one. Most channels you get are super snowy. The TV loses signal supposedly due to construction next door. Well it's 7:30 at night there is no construction. The dresser has hair and wood shavings and crumbs all over. I have to keep my clothes in my suitcase I mean come on. I tried to call the office, the phone doesn't work. On top of that I lose power in my room, so finally they are gonna change my room so I pack up everything and when I go back to the office, the lady tells my oh its back on so no need to change rooms. I asked her since I'm packed up already can we still change the room is garbage. Response was well this isn't the Hilton inn. No it's not but you need to take care of the customers not treat them like trash. I'm an electrician from Vegas out here for about three months. It was clearly the same rug, curtains, tv and linens from the 80s. Bathroom was disgusting. I had the most horrible experience at this motel. If never rented a room from here don't ever do it. The staff is so rude. Starting with the night worker who works the front desk the cop that is I guess the people down there are in the mode of ripping people off for they make stuff up. They put other IDs in your profile so that way they can say you had an unauthorized guest in your room and they can kick you out whenever I suggest no one ever sleeps at this motel again. I'm just gonna lead with this right up front: the place feels a bit skeevy initially. I stayed here for four nights, and there's always people who look like long-term tenants or welfare recipients hanging out. There's tons of trucks parked around with a lot of areas dedicated to truck parking, so it's obvious they cater to that as well. But after a 4-day stay, I also want to say that all the people, both the employees and the people staying there, were super nice. At one point, several of the people staying at the motel came across someone with special needs who had gotten off at the wrong bus stop, six miles away from his intended destination. They immediately helped him, as he was a little upset. These are the sort of people that make the world great, and I immediately felt bad that I had judged them a bit harshly. People were quiet the whole time I was there as well. No one appeared to be selling drugs or partying in the rooms. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Yeah, they're dated. Look at the price you're paying for this place! There's no shampoo, hairdryer, or microwave, although there is a refrigerator. There's no wifi. When I asked, the person at the front desk said, "No wifi. We just have third-party wifi". I never followed up on that, but I'm guessing that means that one has to pay for it? The water pressure was fantastic, and there was plenty of hot water. The A/C and heat worked fine. There's ample parking at any time. The motel is in very close proximity to downtown Phoenix and just barely north of Hwy 17. It would be easy to slam this place and say, "Oh yeah, it looks like crap" but really, for this price, I would feel like a jerk given what they offer. My wife and I stayed at the Easy 8 airporter in Phoenix for 5 days and on the 5 day we spent all morning trying to make a reservation for another day which ended up taking 3 hours and when it finally went through at 12:00pm my wife went to the office to check in and was told by the general manager that there were 3 complaints about fentanyl smell coming from our room and they were not going to extend our stay and we had to leave immediately! I don't know who this person thinks she is dealing with but I will tell you this, they are not going to get away with treating my wife the way she did falsely accusing and Infront of other customers. I had just moved down from Cottonwood(about 90 miles north)and needed a place for a few weeks while I looked for an apartment. The area is sketchy and you have to watch your surroundings carefully, especially if you're walking. The 7th street(2 miles north to downtown) bus is right outside the front door and the airport is nearby. I stayed for 3 weeks at a reasonable rate of about $50 a night. The security is professional and keep the place safe. I was worried about loud noise and sketchy people outside my door but security kept it quiet at night. The desk staff is also professional. The only negative issue I had is the key card needed to be rekeyed several times over my 3 week stay. The bed and room was comfortable with a nice bathtub and shower. People criticize the TVs but mine worked fine and got cable. Recommended for value and being nearby downtown and the airport. read more

To summarize quickly - this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I've done a lot of traveling in my life, but I have never seen anything like this. If you are thinking about saving a buck booking this place, please take my advice and look elsewhere. If there was a 0-star option, I would put that as my rating. Here's a quick list of reasons why: Check in time was supposed to be 3 pm. We called to see if we could get in early check-in, they said no. We arrive just past 3 to check-in, and the staff says that they don't have our room ready yet. Of course they were happy to take my payment, but said to come back in an hour and try again. We come back around 4:30 to a massive crowd of agitated people. Once again we are told that we can't access our room (which we have now already paid for) and to come back later. It wasn't until nearly 6 pm that we finally got our room key, while dozens of others still waited. The room was disgusting. Massive stains all over the carpet (pictures attached), every surface was filthy, and our bathroom tub had dirty towels in it. The bed was worse than an air mattress. In the middle of our stay, our shower stopped working, and after calling the office to get someone to fix it, they said they had to shut the water off to the building and gave no reasoning. Our water was off for more than half a day. There are shady characters walking around at all times, day and night. It's hard not to feel unsettled when you're here. The airport is also right next door, so planes will fly over loudly all throughout the night. That gave momentary cover to all the screaming and yelling coming from outside at 2 am. We stayed for 3 nights and housekeeping never stopped at our room one single time to change sheets, bring towels, nothing. The only time I saw housekeeping at all was when they were throwing entire bags of garbage over the balcony on the second floor, spilling trash everywhere. To make things even worse, they charged my debit card THREE TIMES after our initial check-in. I discovered this while I was on the trip, and even after bringing it up multiple times to the front desk, nothing was done about it. They claimed it was a mistake in the system, but that doesn't change the fact that I was on vacation and low on cash because I've got unauthorized charges on my card. Long story short, avoid this place at all costs. Even if you are traveling on a budget, it's not worth it. I've stayed at some terrible hotels in my day, but this one takes the cake. This place makes Motel 6 look like the Bellagio in comparison. Would have rather slept in my car. read more

I really wish the negative reviews weren't really as bad as they seemed but this motel has continued to prove me wrong. I get it, you get what you pay for. But on their official website they had said we would have a fridge, only to arrive in a room with no fridge. We were informed that most of the rooms do not in fact have a fridge, we had asked to be moved to a room with a fridge but we were also informed that they had no idea which rooms actually had fridges. So we had asked to have maintenance bring one when they could, which we were assured that they would. Several days of calls and follows up and no fridge did in fact appear so our food did go bad. We later confronted the manager only to be told they acknowledge that their site lied to us but they refused to do anything about it. To their credit they do have an ice machine but you're not allowed to use it to fill up an ice chest as it has a small ice making capacity. Up to the room there were holes everywhere in the building and carpeting on the outside. Paint chipping inside our room and friendly little roaches skittering outside and around the building. Don't expect any room service. There was also questionable red on our door inside near the escape route plan where I couldn't tell if it was a red marker or blood smeared on the door. To ease my mind I just didn't question further. The lamps in between the beds did not work and honestly I have no idea how they are still holding onto the wall. There were limited plugs around the room which made it difficult to charge what we needed. Walls were thin and I could hear the conversations from our motel neighbor. My friend had this piece of metal sticking out from under the bed that kept stabbing her everytime she got in and out of bed. When I'd let the faucet run, little black specks would spit back up into the sink. I still don't know what that was. Please please read the reviews. I get it, it's okay if your just passing by and wanting the bare bare bare minimum. The check in staff were nice and there's security that walks around. Although it wasn't the safest feeling motel. The manager though, i wish she was more compromising and understanding of our situation. I also wish she would have agreed to even a partial refund instead of gaslighting us. I booked a room for two nights here. The reviews on Booking.com said it was outdated but clean. That was a lie. I checked in and went to the room. Where do I start? The carpet was filthy and almost black, and I could hardly tell its original color. The fabric on the chairs and the curtains were just as bad. The bed looked OK, but I wouldn't trust it. I didn't even make it as far as the bathroom. I returned to the desk and asked for a different room. The second one was just as bad. I returned the key card to the desk and walked out. I contacted Booking.com requesting a refund. Although the reservation was nonrefundable, it wasn't as if I had just changed my mind or whatever. When the property was contacted, they lied and said that I had occupied the room. When I have proof, I went to an Airbnb. Booking.com was no help and has lost a customer. (Realizing after the fact that this should have been a red flag). I literally only needed the room to get out of the house while my tub was being resurfaced, so from about 9 in the morning until after dinner time. When I arrived, they advised me that check in was not until 3pm (much more normal, admittedly) and that I couldn't check in earlier. This would have been basically a ninety dollar booking for about three or four hours, maximum, which was ridiculous, not to mention being useless for my purposes. Neither Priceline or the Hotel had ANY interest in refunding. Neither would have had any problem with handling the refund, it just boils down to greed. read more

I booked a room for the weekend while I visited my son at ASU. I got home late after spending time with him and my room key didn't open my door. I went down to the office and there was a sign on the window that read "out to lunch. Be back in 30 minutes". I looked in the door and saw a man sitting at the desk so I knocked on the door and said "excuse me sir my door key doesn't work". He replied "oh well... I'm not getting paid right now so your gonna have to wait until I'm off lunch". I said "I paid for a room and I can't get into it". He replied "when you go to lunch on your job I bet you don't do any work". I asked again if he could fix my key so I could get into my room where all of my belongings were and he threatened to call the police and have me arrested for trespassing. I told him I would show my credit card receipt as proof that I paid for a room and he said "I'll make sure you don't ever have a room here again". He then called me a dumb ass and threw my key through the window after he fixed it. I come to Arizona often to visit my son but I will never again stay at this establishment. UPDATE: My key didn't work again today and as I navigated through the homeless women blocking the steps with a pit bull and bags, I went to the office where I was told that I'm now on the DO NOT RENT list...as if I were ever going to spend another dollar at a place where customers are treated like trash. Been here before and returned here for decent price. Some amenities on their website are not available and have to pay for Wi-Fi. Room is very dated with old boat anchor TV and no in-room coffee. Their "game room" which is really a break room of vending machines and few tables and chairs. Their restaurant and bar is a plus with decent meals and price. Based on the rules and regulations at this establishment, this place and the people that stay here must be that bad. But it is what you make of it and how much time you will spend here. However you are close to Sky Harbor Int'l airport as well as Downtown Phoenix. Walking distance to restaurants and close to sports venues such as Talking Stick Arena and Chase Field. Guests that drive here must display a parking pass at all times and also there is a curfew on visitors from 10:00pm to 7:00am. Also visitors must check in at the front desk. If you bring a guest in your room without checking in you will get booted. Also commercial drivers renting rooms out to others will be banned. There is lots of parking and a restaurant on site. Rooms are good enough for those looking for any place to stay. The TV is outdated for those looking for an HDTV flat screen. WiFi is available. There are better hotels in Downtown Phoenix as well as surrounding areas. There was an issue with my card being charged twice but the person working the front desk was able to fix it. read more

I was very unhappy with this room. Upon check in there was several sketchy people in front of the lobby. A woman seemed to be overdosing on something and called paramedics to the lobby before I even got to my room. Once checked in the heater was loud. There was constant airplane noise. The bed was uncomfortable. I heard gunshots. There were holes in the tile in the bathroom. The next day I left in the morning and returned at around 3:30pm. Housekeeping did not straighten up. I went to Pheonix for a concert and needed somewhere to lay my head for the night that was not going to break the bank. This place fit the bill. If you are not picky and you just want a bed for the night, then this is the spot for you. The room was clean and the water pressure was good. The only gripe I had about the room was that it had an ancient tube TV. They should get some decent flatscreens. I will definitely consider this place again if I go to a concert downtown again. They told me how slow they were yet put me facing the freeway. It was extremely loud and the lock on the door didn't work. There was no parking close to the room. There was 1 bar of soap. on February 18 me and my four kids went to EZ eight there was only one lady working the front desk heavyset curly hair Caucasian can't remember her name I do apologize I have a 16 year-old a five-year-old of four-year-old and a one year-old as I'm purchasing the room the receptionist asked me if I want a non-smoking or a smoking room. I told her I need a non-smoking room for two nights. The total came out to $194.12. She placed us in room 423 when my kids and I go upstairs to 423, the minute you walk in, you can smell the smell of cigarettes and there's an ashtray sitting on the table , I called the front desk 1 million times and nobody answered so my daughter and I go downstairs and there's a long line it took a about an hour for me to get up to the window because the receptionist was the only one on duty once I get up to the window, I asked her for a refund and she stated that once her security checks my room and tells her that it's OK that she can refund me I met the security upstairs me and my kids packed up our things and security told me that it's OK for me to get ref that the room looks OK. I packed up my kids and we go downstairs in the code again and there's another long line. We're sitting there waiting for another hour because she's the only one working when I get up to the window she tells me that she cannot refund me my entire money because security told her that the room had cookie crumbs on it and I explained to her that that's not security told me, had I known that I was not gonna get refunded my $194.12. I wouldn't I would've never left the room. I explained to her that she still has to give me my money because she gave me a smoking room when I told her I needed a non-smoking at that point she stated that she had no more non-smoking so she had to give me a smoking room so I asked her why would she asked me if I wanted a non-smoking or smoking she claimed that it was a miscommunication. I argued with her so I can get my money back and she still gave me only $94.12 and told me that I would have to wait till the next morning to speak to manager Lisa to get my hundred dollars back , when I speak to manager Lisa the next morning, she was extremely rude and kept hanging up on my face continuously would not even do her part as a manager and listen to the guest side of the story. She just claimed that she was not gonna argue with me and continue to hang up on my face, and at one time called me out of my name I pretty much was robbed from my money, and I asked her for corporate number and they would not give me corporate number told me to go online and find it myself. This is unprofessional And poor management. This place still owes me 100$Manager, Lisa will not let me explain the fact that her receptionist gave me a smoking room. My kids have really bad asthma and I cannot stay in a smoking room. They pretty much took my money. I did not stay there at all. and they only refund me for one night of $94 which is not fair. She stated that she had nobody there to clean up the room. That is not my fault that they are short of staff.
