Here's why I changed my mind: 1. They're competitively priced. Every time I've asked them to do work for me, they've been significantly lower than other quotes/estimates. At first I thought there must be a catch. But as I vetted them, I concluded that they were legit--they're just a relatively new company and they have a lean operation, so they're willing and able to cut good deals for their customers. 2. I like them and trust them. They're easy to talk with and work with. I was leery about loud demolition noises waking up my family, and they accommodated me. They've gone above and beyond to help me see what different options could look like (e.g., they invited me to see a nearby pool removal they were doing, they lent me samples of artificial turf when I told them I was interested in artificial turf, they helped me decide on the turf that would look nicest, and they didn't charge me extra for it). They didn't make big decisions or changes without talking with me. They've been reliable, hardworking, and transparent. 3. I like their work. They want to do a good job, not just check a box, and they're not out to cheat or gouge me on pricing. See the before and after photos to get a feel for their work! I had wanted to remove my pool to get rid of the safety hazard for my kids. And Legacy Demolition did that. Once I replaced the tankless water heater, I had to deal with the residual damage from the water. The insurance folks sent out a demo team to take all the damaged wall/ ceiling and mold out. The insurance gave my Contact info to a Renovation company they use and said that they would call me. After a couple of days, I did not hear anything so I researched and found these guys on Yelp. They came out the same day provided a quote and I feel that their prices were reasonable. The insurance had already paid me out for what they guesstimated the cost of repairing everything ( i didn't tell them how much I was paid out) and it was comparable to what they quoted me. Although they said if their quote was more, they had no problem going back to the insurance folks to deal with them in regards to more money to do the project. Thankfully, we didn't need to do that. However, I thought that was important to mention because I didn't realize that a lot of people do not want to deal with insurance companies. I was turned away a couple of times when I was trying to find somebody to Replace the water heater and I needed them To provide information to the insurance company. These guys came in and we're so quick and efficient. I had a partial ceiling missing in my living room and in my garage. The wall that separated my living room and garage were missing. The contractor for the first company I contacted (Napa Valley Concrete) requested pictures, which I sent, and set up an appointment to come look at the patch to provide an estimate. That was the last I heard from him. He failed to show up at the appointed time, and neither called nor texted me again. So, back to the drawing board. I next contacted Connor and Sons via their web site. Paul Connor responded within one business day. He showed up at the appointed time. When I thanked him for doing so, he said "That's our job, right?" :-) I related the all-too-common story to him of the first no-show contractor. Connor and Sons was reliable and professional through the whole process. Paul was communicative when personal circumstances delayed the work. They ended up starting the work on a weekend in order to fit us in between their larger jobs and bad weather. In the end, the concrete itself and its replacement was harder than Connor had anticipated. To be honest, I think they may have lost money on our little job.
