BEWARE!!!!!!!!! $195 per hour. Replacing four simple ceiling fans cost me $1,465!!!!!! I do not recommend!!!!!!!!!!

We hired E-line for a small job in our shed. (The existing light fixture went out and I accidentally pulled it off the ceiling in an attempt to see if I could replace the bulbs.) The appointment was scheduled for early in the am. At the end of the "appointment window" I received a text that the electrician would be late. My days off are limited so I was a little perturbed, but was assured they would arrive in about 30-40 min. At the end of the 30-40 min., I received another text that it would be another 45 min. Again, a little annoyed. When the electrician did arrive, they did a good job changing out the light fixture. Since it is the shed (which we converted into a weight room) I wasn't too upset the fixture was moved from the original location exposing a different color paint, but the fixture is no longer centered in the room. Again, it's the shed so I let it go, but it does bother me when I'm in there and I wish they mentioned it before the job was completed so I could have had the option of a different fixture that would be centered in the room. I'm thinking this was a very small job so they kinda just didn't care...also probably why they were late tending to an emergency AC call. Lastly, the quote for the new fixture was given in the initial communication ($130) and I told them I'd have cash. It was not disclosed that the hourly labor rate was $250, which seems really expensive. (The total time for the job was 50 min.) In the end, we ended up paying $380 for a new shed fixture that is no longer centered and now we need to repaint the ceiling (and there was the time snafu.) For these reasons, I would be wary of recommending this company to someone. However, we do have a nice new fixture that works in our shed gym and the electrician was very polite and professional. read more

You know how old houses in SF will blow a fuse if you try to use the microwave the same time you use your television? Well my house was like that. Call me spoiled but I am just not having any of that. I found E-line through word of mouth. E-line does a lot of commercial work, but they do residential also. I called Tigran (awesome name, right??) and he squeezed an appointment in for me the next day. He's very personable, and did a great job during the initial walk through, explaining everything to me up front so that I won't have surprises later. He even gave me advice on what type of lighting to get to fit the architecture of my house, as well as made me aware of some other issues that should get adressed. Tigran works really hard and the workmanship is spot on. He got everything done on time, within budget, and even threw in a couple small things (like adding dimmers and replaced my janky lightbulbs). He's really considerate and called me whenever something unexpected came up to give me notice. It's been 6 months of me nuking food and being a couch potato under pretty new lights since he finished updating my home and I haven't had any problems. I've been doing business with Tigran for well over 7 years now and he has constantly deliver on time and on budget. I've had him work on big jobs as complete loft remodels to smaller jobs of installing or moving an outlet and each and every time it has been perfect. IMHO the guy is a little OCD at one of the lofts i caught him turning each screw on every wall plate so that it was perfectly horizontal so i asked him what he was doing and he proceeded to tell me that he liked everything to be consistent and uniform throughout- are you serious? a screw? needless to say i would never hesitate to use him as i can feel safe at night that the lofts he has done for me and my own home are all wired correctly and free of any defects that could cause damage or even death and on that my friends you cannot put a price tag on. read more

I recently had some work done by E-line. I had some electrical trouble at my house so i gave them a call to make an appointment. I explained the situation going on and sensing the urgency they fit me in right away for the next day. The owner is the one who actually came out to do the job which was nice to see that he doesn't mind doing the work. There are some many out there that feel they are to good to do the work them selves. He showed up on time which was great. He gave me an estimate of how long it would take and the cost. More them reasonable on both. He ended up finishing quicker then he originally thought which was fantastic because that gave me a chance to start the rest of my day early.
