Best laundromat near the CBD, by far. Machines were all in working order and clean. The PayPal…read morepayment system worked flawlessly -- go to the link posted on the wall (using their free wifi, if you like), specify the machine you want to use, the amount of time (for dryers), and then you're transferred to PayPal to complete the transaction. As soon as you pay, the machine is active and ready to run. The wifi worked well, and there are outlets for your laptop next to a desk at the window. There's also a big table for folding laundry, and a clever gadget to help you fold your sheets. You don't have to guess about dryer heats -- a sign above the dryers tells you the temperature of each setting. Washers are $4 each. Dryers are $1 for 8 minutes. There's one large washer -- I forget the price. Discounted prices are available certain hours, which are advertised on the notice board. The only problem I had was quickly resolved. I had tried to use the vending machine to buy detergent, but the coin slot was jammed. I was able to pay with a bill and get coins as change, but the coins I put in got stuck. I phoned the two help numbers -- the landline went to voicemail and I left a message, but the mobile number was answered right away. He said he'd come by in 15 minutes to look into the problem, and he did. Shortly thereafter, a lady returned my call to the landline. When the owner arrived, he cleared the jam (caused by a sticky 20 cent coin in the slot), gave me my lost coins back, and offered me anything I'd like from the machine. The laundromat is in a small shopping center with its own small parking lot -- a few spaces are available for laundromat customers. I never had trouble getting a spot. It's near enough to the Gabba that I was able to walk down and watch a few overs of a Sheffield Shield match while waiting for my clothes to dry. The owner told me that they hope to add a location near the CBD, if they can find a spot with reasonable rent. Spring Hill is a possibility. I hope they do, as there is a dearth of laundry options in the CBD other than overpriced hotel laundry service.

I loved them because not only were they hella comfortable, but each time I wore them I felt a little Audrey Hepburn-esque. They made me feel polished, sophisticated and casually chic. They had a Chanel look to them without the price tag. I even went through a phase of not wearing them for fear of ruining them, but that's a story for another review. Well, sure enough as a pair of well worn shoes do, the sole gave up the ghost but I wasn't ready to give up on them yet. That's when I sent them into the shoe ER that is Hallelujah at the bottom of Broadway on the Mall (head towards the back of the food court to find this sole saver!). Within days my shoes were back to their prime and lasted for another 18 months before I finally had to say goodbye. All in all the repair set me back maybe $20 or $30 which compared to what I paid for them was a pittance. The guys at Hallelujah have also saved a handbag that for sentimental reasons (it was a gift from my oldest and dearest friend) I couldn't accept was gone for good. They repaired the leather and when they say invisible stitching they mean it. There was no telling on a glance that this well loved handbag had had a few cosmetic touch-ups. For reliable, quality and affordable service I'll always head to Hallelujah!
