Can you really describe a drycleaner as boutique? Well if you can, then you can describe it using…read moreLeon's Fine Dry Cleaning as a perfect example. I was a little shocked that it was so easy to identify along such a busy road because really, when you look for a dry cleaner, I expect them to be holed away in a tiny shack or some equally charming but slightly alarming space that only a dry cleaner can call home. But Leon's is perched delicately on a bustling corner in East Brisbane and is elegantly distinguishable. Its signature black and white emblem is painted along the shop's façade and on their very own specialist vans. Not only does Leon's consist of superior dry cleaning services, but just across the parking space, there is also Leon's Suit Hire; so you've essentially got all your bases covered. But honestly, walking into Leon's Fine Dry Cleaning is like walking into a hotel lobby. There are cushy lounges for those with a bit of a wait on their hands, as well as a gilded mirror in which to admire yourself as you wait. They have everything on record, and if you're picking up something for someone else like I was and, consequently, aren't sure what name the order is under, they can locate your item by simply looking up a phone number. It's super convenient and the service is fantastic. The back room is inundated with clothing on rails that look like rollercoaster tracks and when I say they have hundreds of items, I'm probably selling them short. Leon's is obviously a very popular place because the place is packed with clothing. There are suits, jackets, gowns, and a heap of wedding dresses all cleaned and packed to perfection. As I said, Leon's delivers a truly boutique dry cleaning experience second to none.

I have been a customer for about a year at Leons fine dry cleaners. My clothes were always needed…read moreto be redone as they were not cleaned properly the first time. I was always polite and paid the bills which were hundreds of dollars sometimes. I dropped an expensive dress from Paris (1000 dollars) in to be cleaned and asked politely could it be cleaned thoroughly as I would not be in town to bring it back. When I had driven home the man (owner?) rang me and rudely demanded I return and pick up my dress. I did as he asked and when I arrived he was in the store and had another male employee? in the store. There was no one else around and it was closing time. My dress was screwed up into a ball on the counter. I picked my dress up and said thank you. The owner? was shouting something rudely at me as I walked away. I was very intimidated and frightened as I was alone and there were the two men in the store. My dress was screwed into a ball and damaged. It is a thousand dollar dress just purchased from Paris. I quickly got in my car and left. My dress is damaged and I felt so intimidated. Why was there a need to damage my property. The owner? had heard me say it was an expensive dress from Paris. I have never been impolite and not even in this instance. I am devastated that this occurred, it was not necessary and it was very intimidating.

I have this ridiculously amazing full-length tiger poncho that's become my staple winter wear. I…read morewanted to get it cleaned to prep for this winter, and not fully understanding dry cleaning, I figured if I got the poncho dry cleaned (instead of throwing it in the machine myself), it'd still retain its lovely fluffiness. So I googled E Laundry. The website had this deal, three items for $25.95, so I was like - awesome! I'll throw in another couple of items to get fancypants drycleaned. I phoned up, told them I was a first-time customer, mentioned the three-piece deal, was super excited. I even got my items picked up by the valet service. Long story short, my card ended up getting charged almost three times as much as I was expecting, because the poncho didn't count as "standard dry cleaning" - in fact, they chucked it through the wash like I would have done anyway, and the dirt mark I was hoping would have been removed by professionals still remained. The website has a little asterisk next to "standard dry cleaning" and yet I've been through the site with a fine-tooth comb and can't find the fine print for that asterisk. I sent off a sadface email, got no reply for a week, sent another email, and finally engaged in some dialogue. I wasn't really happy at all with the response but they tried their best to stop me whinging by offering to clean the garment again, free of charge. Sure, that's really nice of them, but I couldn't notice a difference the second time around.

E laundry is truly a new take on the laundry and dry cleaning services of old. The have expanded…read moretheir services to every extent of cleaning clothes. We don't always have time to do laundry and some times it can pile up, other times its something delicate like a suit that we would rather give to the pros to clean than risk ruining it. In my case it was time to take the suit in. I haven't heard about them before but it was the closest to my house and to be honest i did like the way the outside looked with the big light bulbs around the sign and the black and white exterior. The staff were helpful and friendly and and asked if i wanted anything special or if the suit needed altering which is not normally done by the dry cleaners. It was a pretty standard order of just dry cleaning the suit and it cost just over 20 dollars which i thought was not too bad. They also offered to deliver it when it was ready but i opted out because its walking distance from my house. As well as altering clothes they also do fixes and embroidery. Along with all this they clean pet products like pet beds and blankets too. I also quite like the little cafe that is attached to E Laundry and is a good place to wait if you are early picking up your clothes.
