For more than a year I have been searching for a new salon after losing the stylist who did my…read morehair for almost 25 years. I admit these were some big shoes to fill especially since I have my hair cut every 4 weeks, my hair is rather defiant, but I want it to always look nice. I was very impressed with the coziness of the New Beginnings salon, the ability to obtain an appointment that was timely and convenient, the warm feeling of friendship and esteem between the staff, the respect and concern they showed the customers, the quality of my haircut by Jessica and the very reasonable price. They even provide a discount for seniors, military and college students. Jessica took the time to listen to the concerns I have about my hair, the look I was trying to achieve and she genuinely wanted to make sure I left happy - which I certainly did! She used some new products, explaining their use but left it at that. I have finally found a new salon where I can walk in and know I will be comfortable with my stylist, leave delighted with my haircut as well as being content with the amount I spend. Effective, efficient, caring, and courteous are just some of the words to describe New Beginnings and their team! Thank you!!

I've added pictures showing my before, the inspo photos attached to the original appt request, and the result I left with for reference. I did not reach out afterward because I was not comfortable having the same stylist make an adjustment, and I live an hour away from the salon. I was initially willing to make the drive because of the impressive work with fine hair on your Instagram and TikTok, which is actually what led me to book the appointment in the first place. Unfortunately, the experience and result I received did not reflect the quality of work that led me to make that drive.

She gave me amazing advice and steps on how to start my curly hair journey. She said once a week to provide castor or olive oil to my hair (any brand but make sure it's 100%). The other week to provide protein to my hair (Aphogee) so it won't be so dry and brittle. The other week to use Olaplex so my hair can be strong and shiny. Ever since I followed her weekly treatment plan for my curls they are now full of life and bounce I really can't believe it! Last week after not blowing drying my hair for almost a year, I went to Maryluz and she recommended amazing products for my blonde hair and my curly hair. Everything to the Deva Sea Mask, Deva purple shampoo and a diffuser. Honestly Marysol & Maryluz are amazing and will actually take the time to provide a treatment plan for your curls. I kept reiterating that I did not want her to cut off length. Not only did she inches off my hair, the hair cut is really choppy and not blended well at all. I lost years of growth. Do NOT get your hair cut here. I want my money back. I also emailed the salon expressing my dissatisfaction and they ghosted me. They do NOT care about their clients. 111 dollars down the drain.

Fortunately, Lauren put me right at ease straight away -- it was clear from the time of our consultation that she was dedicated to making sure I'm super happy with my hair. And she definitely delivered! We talked at length about all my different options for achieving the high-dimension, low-maintenance blonde I wanted... including balayage, foils, root tap/shadow/melt, money piece, etc. and finally settled on a plan that would match the ook I was going for without damaging my hair too much. Lauren was honest with me from the get-go about what she did and didn't feel comfortable doing in terms of maintaining the integrity of my hair (we skipped bleaching the ends for that reason), which I really appreciated. From the moment she started painting to the toner and blowout/styling, it was clear that she *really* cares about her work, as well as the client's satisfaction. And I truly don't think the tone of my blonde has ever looked better! Not to mention, Lauren's sweet, friendly, accommodating presence makes for a really pleasant experience all around. Especially if you're looking for a "lived in blonde" that grows out softly and beautifully, I highly recommend her! 10/10
