They have extremely famous "Brazos Gitanos". I prefer the classic guava flavored filling.

We ordered several appetizers and the Honey Burger. Food: Wings - a bit salty for my taste but well cooked Fried cheese - fairly good served with guava sauce Mini Empanadas - not enough meat on them but tasted well seasoned and very crispy. Chorizo en Vino sweet and salty. Served with several small pieces of toasted bread Honey Burger My son said it was good, double Pattie's with onion rings which he removed. I wanted the mini Alcapurrias, and they were out. I was hoping for arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas), and they don't serve it. The waitress stated that on the Island, most restaurants don't have the main rice dish and recommended I may find it in Pollo Tropical. We didn't order beverages as they only had tequila and rum, so I ordered a beer and could not order an additional one as my waitress only passed by once to check on us. Overall reasonably good, but I wouldn't visit again.

We were given a water and a menu and our server never came back to get our order. We went to place our order at the front, which they did take, but yeah, the food never came out. We went up to cancel the order and they said they hadn't even started making the meal yet. We told them to cancel.

It is extremely important for me to share this experience. We were visiting from Downtown Miami,…read moreFL. Today, 12/22/2025, my husband and I visited La Guitarra to celebrate their anniversary. As expected during the holidays, the restaurant was very busy. Due to limited parking, we decided to place a to-go order. My husband went inside while I remained in our vehicle, which was parked briefly in front of the nearby barbershop and La Parrilla. I waited approximately one hour, which was understandable given how full the restaurant was. During this time, a man (heavyweight) from a neighboring establishment (La Parrilla and Barbershop) approached my vehicle and asked how much longer we would be parked there. I calmly explained that my husband was paying and that we were leaving shortly. I also reassured him that we were not from the area and had no intention of inconveniencing anyone. Approximately five minutes later, an older woman (damaged blonde hair, missing 3 of her teeth, poor hygiene) from a neighboring business (La Parrilla and Barbershop) aggressively approached my car and forcefully pounded on my window with a pen, demanding that I move immediately. I respectfully asked her not to touch my vehicle. She responded in an aggressive manner, stating that she "owned the parking spots" and could touch my car however she wanted. Despite repeatedly asking her to stop touching my window, she continued her hostile behavior. At that point, I felt threatened and unsafe. This incident unfortunately reflects very poorly on the neighboring establishments (La Parrilla and Barbershop) and indirectly impacts La Guitarra, despite the restaurant itself having excellent food and service. While La Guitarra was full of customers, the neighboring businesses were empty, yet their representatives displayed unnecessary hostility toward patrons. Because of this experience, we have made the difficult decision not to return (we reside in Miami, FL), solely due to the unsafe and aggressive environment created by nearby businesses. I would like to sincerely commend the gentleman directing traffic, who identified himself as a veteran. He apologized to us multiple times for the behavior we experienced and showed genuine professionalism and kindness. To the owners of La Guitarra: your food is outstanding, but unfortunately your customers are being exposed to hostile and intimidating behavior from neighboring establishments (La Parrilla and Barbershop), which overshadows an otherwise wonderful dining experience.

It was yummy. Had their mofongo. It was the first time I ever had it so I'm not sure how great it is but really enjoyed it. Very filling. Also the service was top-notch. She helped me order and we tried talking to each other though neither of us speak each others language

Luckily they were served with fries which was the only good part of the meal. It was more of a wrap than a burrito. The service was poor. There were two tables besides ours and we were there for almost 2 hours. Much of which was waiting for our server to come take our card. Once we were able to pay, I asked for the bathroom. The waitress told me it was "all the way down on the left." I walked down and found two locked doors. I walked around the building and did not find any unlocked doors so I decided to try to find a bathroom elsewhere. On my walk back, the manager stopped me and asked what I was looking for. I told her and she had the waitress walk me over to one of the doors that had a padlock. She unlocked the door and directed me from there. The bathroom contained no toilet paper in either stall, hand soap, or paper towels. I went as far as to check the men's room which contained neither as well. The food is relatively cheap which is the only good thing I have to say about this restaurant. I would recommend looking for somewhere else if your looking for a meal on the water.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING…read more The risottos are incredible - rich, decadent, flavorful. It's not cheap in any sense but worth it. Vast amount of indoor and outdoor seating.

Great! Wish I could go back again to try the other meats and sides! We ordered a risotto of manchego cheese and the 1/2 Fogón de Asao (chicken, pork/lechón, both styles of ribs, and 5 mofongo balls). Also grabbed a cheese flan for dessert. This was enough for four of us to eat a late lunch around 3pm and not need dinner! All the meats were pretty good. Chicken wasn't too dry, lechón was almost like pulled pork ready to be pulled apart, and the ribs were done well. One of the ribs has a lot (15) of spices and tastes like a St. Louis style. Its meat was tastier (fell right off the bone) and was my favorite but might be tied with the lechón. I love BBQ sauces but didn't even bother asking for any there. Not quite sure if they would have had any, though, because Latinos tend to go for the pure meat taste and not use as much sauce like you might find in the southern continental USA. The service was very attentive and it filled up pretty quickly after we arrived. A band started playing a little while later. Word is that a young lady sings every other Saturday night and she's got quite an arsenal of songs (Spanish and English). Only downsides were missing her performance and the draft beer not being available (broke the tap the first week open and haven't gotten it fixed). If you're looking for good BBQ and plenty of food then stop on by. Plenty of parking and lots of tables. I could easily envision this place getting real busy on some evenings! Some pics are below! Time for me to go take a nap after all that food...
