Alex and his team did a fantastic job installing a simple concrete patio at our house. I solicited…read morehis services on Yelp after reading through his numerous positive reviews (and even the one or negative ones) to determine he was the right guy for the job. Alex was very responsive throughout the planning and execution process, and even oversaw the entire installation. His crew were dedicated and skilled workers who were very kind. Scope of the project included covering an existing concrete slab. Alex made sure to add 3-4 inch rebar dowels every 24 inches and wire mesh to give the new layer something finer to hold on to, in addition to the binding agent for a more firm fusion. We also paid extra for the 3,500 PSI rated concrete given the Texas heat. Further, he extended the sides of our driveway, replacing the paver stone and gravel with level concrete. This also included fixing part of the walkway that had been pushed up by Live Oak roots, which was a tripping hazard, and now forming a smooth transition. Alex was also great when it came to pricing. He was very transparent, and me not being a concrete guy, asked a good friend who's been a general contractor for 30+ years to review the proposal and methods, and follow the work, all of which he said was done expertly. I'd highly recommend Ace for your concrete needs.

Review I hired Alex…read moreinitially remove and replace my driveway, add a front porch, and a sidewalk down to the street from the new front porch. The job took quite a bit longer then what I was initially told some of which had to so with issues getting the permit and the actual inspection for the permit for one reason or another. Other then the work taking significantly longer then expected the work did get done and the permit got approved, but there were a number of cosmetic fit and finish issues that I repeatedly informed him about that are still not resolved. With that work completed and despite the red flags with the work I decided to bring him back for a new porch and retaining wall in my backyard. Again the work took longer then expected it was difficult to get responses and dates for the work nailed down. I also made the mistake of of not pressing to have an actual written bid/invoice/work detail before starting. About a week after the work finished cracks started showing up across everything that was installed and some larger portions started to separation from the house. The areas that didn't separate started to pull on my slab starting to damage the house itself if not addressed. I informed Alex of this and after a lot of unanswered texts and a contentious voice mail and phone call eventually he came out to look at what was happening. He at the time suggested some caulking would address the issue and that they could seal the porch, for extra cost, to prevent cracking. Further attempts to get Alex to come back and fix the porch failed as he repeatedly didn't show up when he said he would and once when he showed up after I told him I wouldn't be around he cut some slots in the retaining wall and left after about 15 minutes doing none of the other work previously mentioned to fix things. At this time I informed him the porch needed to be fully removed as it's just causing further damage and he mentioned getting insurance involved and that he would come by on a date we agreed on. That date came and again with multiple calls and texts getting no response I finally gave up. Additionally I still don't have my fence back up where they took it down for the work and said they would put it back up and when they brought in the concrete truck they drove it on my lawn and broke my French drain. At this point I've hired someone else to remove the work that Alex did and to do everything over again correctly. I'm not out about $7k without any real recourse. Stay far far away from this business and find someone else to do the work. Check the photos I've added if you want more info.

Jose and his team fully remodeled our bathroom and did a great job! The process was smooth and…read moretimely. They started on schedule and completed the remodel within the initial quoted timeframe, 2 weeks! I met with his crew in the mornings to review progress and look at installation options. Jose communicated often, whether responding to questions or asking for clarification to ensure the remodel was done correctly. The bathroom looks amazing! Looking forward to working with Robles Remodeling on the next one!

Really 4.5/5 stars. Having lived with the original builder grade bath for close to 40 years, I…read moredecided it was time to start preparing to "age in place" and get my master bath completely redone - shower conversion, floor tile, cabinets, new toilet, wallpaper removal and painting. This was my first major remodel, so I don't really have anything to compare with. The nits I experienced were pretty minor and probably typical for a job this scale. I found Jose thru Yelp after verifying his other reviews were from real people and not AI generated. I had initially gotten quotes from several of the bathroom remodelers that advertise on TV and experienced sticker shock. One of them turned out to do only the wet area - I would have had to get someone else for the floors, cabinets, painting, etc. Their quote for just the shower area ended up being about what I paid Jose for the entire job. Another of the TV advertisers could do everything I wanted, but their quote was almost 3x what Jose quoted! Yes, they could do it in 2-3 days, but is that worth 3x the cost? One of the first nits I experienced was that Jose didn't tell me the whole master bedroom would be sealed off during the project. Not that big a deal, but I wish I'd known that in advance. They got the demo completed the first day. One of the more time-consuming parts was removing the old wallpaper, which seemed to take about 2 days (the old walls were completely papered). His crew foreman Javier is a master craftsman. I learned pretty quickly to trust his experience. When I had initially seen the tile backer boards installed for the shower, I thought they had forgotten the niche shelf I'd requested. He explained that goes in last. One of the other nits I experienced was that I had to buy a lot of the supplies myself. I would have much preferred just pointing to stuff in a catalog, and Jose go buy them. The biggest problem with that was the grout. I trusted the tile shop's recommendation on grout, and when I delivered it to Javier, he said that stuff is no good. He explained that since it has silicone, it constantly outgasses and leaves a film on the tile. I went online and saw some other reviews with the same comments, so that reinforced my decision to trust what he was doing. Similar experience with the safety grab bars. I just bought some from Amazon, which came with cheap nylon screw locks. Seemed pretty flimsy should you have to actually use them to prevent a fall. Javier was able to use drywall anchors to securely lock them in place. The last nit was the cabinet installation. They were in such a rush to finish the cabinets that the toilet hadn't even been installed. Since I switched to an elongated ADA style toilet, it turned out the medicine cabinet above the toilet could no longer be reached at the old one's height. They had to come back and lower it 4 inches. Again, an easy correction, but would have been unnecessary if they had put the new toilet in first. Jose's crew finished up in 2 weeks, but it was another week before the glass shower doors and mirror showed up to be installed. Anyway, they finally went in today, and I am very happy with the end results. My neighbor had his bath redone last year, and comparing Jose's work to my neighbor's handyman, Jose is miles ahead. I finally know what "Schluter" is. My neighbor doesn't have it, so there are sharp tile edges everywhere! Jose Robles Remodeling will definitely be in the running to do my other 2 bathrooms.
