This overall score is not based on the workmanship of the company, but on the customer service, which is a big part of any business whether you like it or not.

I got quotes from three different companies, and Premier Pavers was about $4k higher than the middle priced. I was still inclined to go with them initially because I appreciated their approach to the quoting process and their clear attention to detail. Where everything fell apart was during final negotiations. I explicitly asked for an all-inclusive price, but when the final contract arrived, it still called out items that were not included. I ended up hiring another contractor who was roughly 60% cheaper. If you have a large project and a flexible budget, Premier Pavers might be a solid pick because they are good with documentation and detailing. Ian took the time to talk on the phone when I first reached out about the project and the scope of work. He even reviewed some drawings I had done of the space and pointed out some things to think about for the layout (such as if we moved the fridge, we'd have to make sure we could access a water line for the ice maker). Ian met with us at the house to talk about the project, and we engaged Ian and IDR shortly thereafter. All told, the renovation took about 4 weeks, which was a great timeline and we are very pleased with how it came out. Ian was responsive, polite, and overall a pleasure to work with, and his subcontractors were polite, unobtrusive and cleaned up each day. We had used Marlon for some tree work and general landscaping approx. 2 years ago, 2019, and wanted at that time to remove a tree which was severely damaging our sidewalk to a point the sidewalk was dangerous. Unfortunately Cambridge had a tree removal moratorium in place so we had to delay this work. We finally decided to go forward with the tree removal, pay Cambridge the fine for removal and we called Marlon. Marlon seemed happy to hear from us again and have a repeat customer. Marlon sent his tree person out to provide an estimate for the tree removal, trimming another tree and removing a dead tree stump and sidewalk repair. Seems like a decent size smallish job. Marlon's tree man said he would have a proposal to us "shortly" within the following week. We never received a quote-proposal. We have left several voice msgs and have also sent two or three e-mails to Marlon and we have never heard back. Marlon has ghosted us. There is another review where Marlon scheduled an appt. and never showed up. If you want to be ghosted or waste your time waiting for Marlon well, then he's your man-company. Find someone else who does care and does good work. Too bad to lose a repeat customer.
