E. A. Brady's is mostly known for their butcher shop, but they also do made to order breakfast sandwiches every Saturday! I saw a post about them recently on their Instagram and was intrigued by the weekly special sandwich as well as the very reasonable prices for what I assumed would be a quality product. I wasn't sure where to go to find the sandwiches, as we walked into the butcher shop on Lyon Street and didn't see anything. The employee at the counter was really friendly and told us to go around to the back of the building, either through the coffee shop or on the path next to the old Marcona restaurant. Sure enough, we found a Blackstone griddle with a whole bunch of eggs and bacon and a small line forming. I got the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich and Nate got the bacon one. We both added hot sauce mayo (you can also order with extra meat). We popped in to Lyon Street Cafe to grab a coffee while we waited and it was the perfect morning. They said they do the breakfast sandwiches every Saturday starting in April, and they will do it well into November! Each week has a delicious special that they post on Instagram. The sandwiches were definitely high quality and delicious. The egg was perfectly cooked with a bit of runny egg (but not so runny that it makes a huge mess) and the sausage patty was super flavorful and juicy. I loved the soft bun too. This is now one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches in town and I will be there as many Saturdays as I can! read more

First day of EA Brady's jumbo breakfast sandwiches was a huge success!!!!! I bet they beat any previous past sold out record they might have set. Everyone was on the run trying to feed the crowd and still maintained such great attitudes!!! The sandwich in the back was a Monte Cristo, the day's special, on a fresh Nantucket croissant. Got the chance to checkout Eabradys for the first time! I ordered both of their sandwiches (cow and pig) and they hit the spot. It's been a long time since I've had American-style bbq and this was the perfect place to try it again. I waited in line for a little bit over an hour (reminiscent of black napkin brunch) and I could just tell this was going to be great by how enthusiastic everyone in line was. The buns were soft and sweet. I'm convinced that anything from Nantucket instantly makes a dish better. The meat was incredibly tender and juicy, a legitimate melt in your mouth experience. Well-seasoned too, these guys definitely knew what they were doing. Sauce was mild but sweet and definitely got overpowered by the other flavors. Strangely enough the pickles were a big highlight. I don't even know how to begin to describe how delicious these were. Closest thing I can compare them to are the Famous Dave's sweet n spicy pickles, except a lot better. My only regret is not getting more :( once I placed my order I saw the beans and other side dishes come out... never have I craves baked beans like I did in that moment. Next time. read more

National Cheeseburger Day was on Saturday, and instead of going for a 50 cent McDonald's Cheeseburger, we opted for E.A. Brady's $10 Double Cheeseburger w/ all the fixins (pickles & raw onions), and washed it all down with Old Nation's B-43. We love, love, LOVE hamburgers, and this one was well worth the price! The meat patties were thick and grilled to perfection, and the buns they used held the Cheeseburger together - no random bits of bread or meat falling apart in your hands, even with all of the greasy goodness that was oozing out of the burger. I hope they participate in National Cheeseburger Day every year, because I would like to make this a yearly tradition! Aside from National Cheeseburger Day, my husband has ordered his raw Turkey Spatchcocked from them for the last two years for Thanksgiving, and it is well worth the price. They include the innards/neck during pickup, and we've used the neck/bones to make our stock/gravy while smoking the Turkey, and the innards are given to the pups as a nice treat. It's only September, but I've already started to remind my husband to place his Turkey order with E.A. Brady this year. :) read more

Denied service because of my service animal. I will never know how this place is because as soon as I walked in the door I was told to leave because I had my registered service animal with me. Which, is completely illegal, and I could sue for, but I left immediately because anyone who treats a customer this way does not deserve my business. I came in to purchase some cuts to go but before I could even barely get in the door I was told to leave. I have a medical condition that requires my service animal with me at all times, and I am legally allowed to have him with me, even in food establishments. I guess they feel they are above the law. They say wheelchair accessible, but clearly are anti-disability. So, don't bother trying, you'll be told to leave before they even talk to you or say hello. read more

A great place to get all sorts of cuts of meat and prepared meats . Their prices are on the upper end but their quality of meats are top of the line. They recently moved their location from Lake Dr. to Lyon St. which is way more convenient for me, with easy parking access. Always friendly and helpful service when I have visited. They helped us select some aged steaks for my mother in law's birthday that turned out wonderfully. I also get beef bone marrow longitudinally cut here which when baked makes a delicious dinner side. They have a wide variety of fresh sausage also. If you don't see it at the counter don't forget to ask the butcher directly as you can usually order specific cuts of meat ahead of time to pick up. read more

The bone-in ribeye from here is about as good as a bone-in ribeye can get. Plus the guys working here are awesome and super helpful with whatever questions you might have!! 10/10 recommend-- not a better place to get meat in GR. read more

Needed some chicken and decided to check this place out instead of Family Fare. Upon arrival I noticed clear eye contact and a friendly greeting from the man behind the counter. The place was also very clean, which a meat shop should be. No weird smells. Aside from raw meat cuts from a selection of animals, they also have some prepared meats, deli options, some food to go options, and a modest selection of grocery items. Positive experience. And the chicken was pretty good too, a bit pricey though compared to prepackaged grocery meats. read more

E. A. Brady's is making great sausage and and they're always exploring and perfecting different styles. Their Argentine "Chorizo" was a dead ringer for the wine-infused grilled sausage my Porteno co-inlaw served us at an asado in Uruguay. Their (lamb) merguez is very popular and sells out as fast as they put it in the case. These guys know their stuff and have trained at top-flight butcher shops elsewhere. It is so cool to have a really good butcher right in the neighborhood. read more

Decided to try a taste test for 4th of July. 12 adults and 4 kids tried 9 different sausages, 2 types of burgers and hot dogs. It's easy to see why the KIELBASA wins awards. It was incredible (and that's coming from a Hamtramck Pole). The other two smoked sausages, KASE KREINER and JALAPEÑO CHEDDAR were equally as good. The other favorites included the BEER BRAT seasoned with American (Budweiser) beer, a perfect blend of meat and beer, and the ARGENTINE which was uniquely delicious. The true show-stopper, however, was the all-beef HOTDOG. My 10 year old asked what it was. When I told her it was a hotdog she said "no it's not, this is too good to just be a hotdog". In all, I don't think you can go wrong checking out E.A. Brady's. All sausages and burgers were perfectly seasoned. Staff was super friendly and very informative. There was not a complaint from the group. I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you. As a side note, we had some HOT HUNTER SAUSAGE for the 45 minute drive.
