Great swarma place and low cost. Fast service. Better than a burger any day. We grabbed a quick lunch here.

Great food option in the area (there aren't many choices). The kebaps are just little over 3 euros. Super affordable and quite filling.

Shortly after sitting down and ordering, the waiter drops off a basket of bread with three different dipping sauces, one hot and spicy, a garlicky yoghurt and a Turkish style salsa and we try desperately not to overdo it on the bread before the really really good stuff arrives! I spy the waiter rushing back and forth with a frothy white drink that a bunch of other tables order and curiosity gets the better of me so I order one of those too, turns out to be a savoury yoghurt drink which is odd at first but actually really delicious! The mains we order arrive, lamb kofta sandwiched in fresh toasted Turkish bread, and beef kebab with frites and salad and they are both incredible. Now this where I go to town with the sauces they first brought to the table, as their lamb kofta sandwich whilst already absolutely delicious is made even more so with these sauces! And of course, there's always room for dessert which was made up of baklava and mint tea, both also delicious. Dinner here was simple but it was fresh and delicious and service was no fuss and efficient too! Definitely worth a stop in when you're after a quick tasty meal!

It was just a 15 minute walk from our hotel, Marriott Amsterdam. The restaurant was lovely with white tablecloths and great service. Food was delicious! Our favorite mezze was the octopus salad appetizer which was one of the many to choose from. Entrees were excellent: grilled sea bass x2, grilled sea bream x2, rack of lamb, and stuffed roasted whole eggplant. Both red and white wines were enjoyed too. We were too full for dessert so maybe next time we're in Amsterdam, we'll try it. Highly recommend Levant!

This restaurant is super cute and has a very nice second level that has tables indoor. On the lower level they have a patio which is right next to the canal and it has a beautiful set up. The service was amazing. Our waiters were very patient with questions, were caring and asked where we were from, and offered to take a family picture of us which we appreciated. From the start they bring a big platter of all the mezze available to your table and you get to pick which ones you want to have (prices are listed on the menu), they also bring a big basket of delicious Turkish bread which reminded me of a focaccia a little bit except a lot heartier and without the flavor of olive oil. We tried the hummus which was creamy and had a predominant flavor of cumin, the octopus which was very refreshing and flavorful, the tzatziki which was thick, refreshing and very creamy with a powerful garlic flavor, and the eggplant with tahini which was cooked to perfection, and just melted in your mouth. We shared a bottle of white wine which was really good and dry. For food we ordered: Sea bass fillet: two generously sized pieces of sea bass that were perfectly grilled and super flaky. They felt very healthy and fresh. Came with some salad on the side. Duck breast: super tender duck with a really nice flavor. The meat was soft, not chewy, and it felt pretty lean. Came with some rice pilaf that was also very well cooked and tasted really nicely. The combination of the duck, the fruit, the sauce and the rice was fantastic. Also generous portion. Sea bass with Turkish bouillabaisse: this dish was amazing!! The sea bass was flaky, and melted in your mouth. The sauce that it came with was also really flavorful and had some dill on top as well. Really enjoyed the other fruits de mer which came with the dish (shrimp, squid). Super decadent and filling! I used some of my leftover Turkish bread to soak up the sauce. Grilled chicken thigh: did not try it but my parents loved this dish! They said the chicken was very tender and that the sides were really good too (some greens, potatoes, and labneh). Overall really loved this place! I thought the service was splendid, the ambiance in the outside patio is unbeatable since you get your own private area along the canal, and the food was spectacular. 11/10 would recommend to anyone who is around the area and wants a place for a nice dinner!

It is located just one block south across the canal from the central train station We appeared to be the second table of their lunch window. The front door is on a busy street but the main dining room (and, I think, a small outdoor patio) fronts on a side street. We got a window table inside, which was good for people-watching during the meal. As this was our first meal after our flight, we were a bit jet-lagged, so my memories of lunch are slightly hazy. I think my wife and I each got a coffee (hers was a Turkish coffee) which were of the normal small European size. Three of us split 2 entrees, which was about the right portion size. One of these was very reminiscent of a kubideh kabob in terms of the form and taste. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I think we just got still water here, but they may have tap water (you usually had to ask specifically for that, we noticed later). Prices were reasonable. I think they had a bar area which may get more traffic during dinner hours. They also had a restroom for customers which, as would be the norm, was down a narrow flight of stairs in a cellar area. I'd willingly return here for a meal were I in Amsterdam again.

Tourists beware! It'd be better to cross the street and grab KFC - seriously!…read more The menu is very picturesque, though it is not available in English and waiting staff does not speak English very well. The first night, we ordered cheeseburgers which gave us stomachaches, the "burger" came out gray and sausage-like, definitely not beef! The fries were okay, but rather dry. I ordered a dessert which I thought was 3-4 euro, but they charged me 8 euro. They also charged us more for the burgers than what was written on the menu, a little sketch. We ended up coming back the second night since it was one of the only open places on a Sunday nearby our hotel, and thought we'd give them a second chance on their other food. Bad idea! We asked for the interpretation on a 4,20 euro salad, they said it was a chicken salad so we ordered it. Also tried the turkey soup (which came out pale, sickly yellow instead of the rich dark red in the picture). Didn't eat more than a sip of the soup! The crepe came with defrosted strawberries and the dough was very bland - beautiful pic, not so beautiful taste! When it came time to pay, they insisted we ordered the Caesar salad and charged me 15 euro (instead of the 4,20 I picked out)! I explained that we did not order that, the waitress who served us even agreed that it was a miscommunication, but the manager lady was adamant that we needed to pay the full price despite the miscommunication on the part of her staff. She said we should have sent the food back when we realized it wasn't what we ordered. We reminded her we couldn't read the menu and therefore didn't realize we got the wrong food. We ended up paying after a long discussion with a surprising amount of confrontation. You can bet we won't be back!
