I'm honestly lucky nothing worse happened to my engine because of this mistake. Because of this experience, I would not recommend this location to anyone. Instead of offering a real solution, they simply reinserted the damaged plug and told me to "take it to a mechanic." My mechanic later confirmed that the aluminum oil pan was stripped beyond repair and had to be replaced. I contacted Take 5 to file a claim, but it was denied -- even though their own manager acknowledged the damage and sent me elsewhere. I paid out of pocket for a new oil pan due to negligence during a basic oil change. I gave them a chance to fix the situation, and they refused. If you care about your car, I'd recommend going elsewhere. I wouldn't trust this shop to handle even basic maintenance after this experience. Thanks for the response. I've already spoken directly with the manager at the store and explained my concerns. Unfortunately, nothing was resolved. I'm up here for work and use valvoline at home for all my vehicles services for a few years now…read more So I decided to stop in and get my oil changed and even asked them to swap out my wiper blades and air filters. Figured I could depend on them to do the right things, boy was I wrong. First of all, the new guy didn't even have a uniform yet so I'm not knocking his ability or effort, but he really struggled to get the oil filter off and the new one on. My issue is that nobody came and checked it after he was done. The air filter in that vehicle is a pain, but it has 6 screws that are in a plastic mold. I watched him take 6 out, and when putting them back in, I noticed his drill never torqued up - (which they should not be using a 24v impact drill for this, it's plastic). After several failed attempts, he realized the drill was in reverse. He then proceeded to torque up 2 screws and then walked away. When it came to the windshield wipers, it took 4 guys to just get one side of the front on, also, incase you're wondering, you need to whack the vehicle with a screwdriver over and over to install blades. Then comes the back blade, all 4 guys back there trying and trying before one of them goes and grabs the impact drill and a socket and starts to disassemble the entire wiper from the glass. Using an impact/hammer drill could very easily shatter the glass. I couldn't take it anymore, I jumped out and asked them if this was really necessary, as I've replaced that blade before and didn't need to do it. After one of them got huffy and began to walk up to me I asked to speak to manager. I explained the entire thing to him and he assured me nothing was done wrong on their end and that I shouldn't talk to them in that manner. He denied the screws were missing and tried to say they were already missing. You can see in the pictures how clean it is where the screw was and also fingerprints where they removed it originally. So I decided to just retreat and file a complaint via cooperate. Then it gets even better. I contacted customer service at the corporate level and filed my complaint. At which point I realized, that when the gave me my receipt, they also gave me someone else's recipient with all of their contact info and address and phone number and license plates numbers. So now the complaint has both receipts and information on it. 5 minutes after I was off the phone with customer service, Jeremy decided it would be a good idea to call to inform me that I was dumb because the vehicle on the complaint was wrong and that I just called him to argue but I don't even know what kind of vehicle I own then proceeded to call me childish while he hangs up on me. I'm not sure what planet we're on, but customer service seems to be a thing of the past.
