Swimming pool at the Wine Club party

This will be a three-part review of Dynamis Winery in Jonesville, North Carolina. One evening, while having dinner with friends, they told us about this great winery. Our anniversary was coming up, so I scheduled a weekend of a tasting for Saturday and their monthly family dinner for Sunday. https://www.dynamisestatewines.com/reserve-a-tasting/ Dynamis is on the top of the mountain in Jamesville, NC, about a 35-minute drive from Winston Salem off I-77. The owner bought the mountain, which comprises 192 acres of vineyards, 5 acres of apple orchards, and 1 acre of a peach orchard. The drive to the top of the mountain is beautiful and the setting once you get to the top for the tasting is breathtaking. The hill is the highest point in Yadkin Valley, and you can see for miles around. Our friends said that this is the only winery where they joined the "Wine Club". Reservations are required. The wines we tasted were exceptional. We ordered a charcuterie plate to go along with our wine tasting. Since I was driving, we had a single tasting, which my wife and I shared. All the wines that we tasted were wonderful. The staff is very attentive without being overbearing. Since the day was very warm, we sat inside but were still able to enjoy the beautiful view. There are tables outside, which at this time of the year are perfect. https://www.dynamisestatewines.com/browse-our-wines/ On Sunday we drove back up to Dynamis for the monthly "Sunday Supper Series". The weather was beautiful, and again we were able to take in the gorgeous view. The "Suppers" are prepared by visiting chefs. Our meal was very good and a great ending to our Anniversary Weekend. The price was $50 a plate, and wine and dessert (peach ice cream), were an additional charge. We ordered one of the rosé wines that we had tried the day before. We suggest starting your experience with a tasting (please note when making your reservation). On October 27th, the Sunday Supper with Damascus Culinary Concepts will be Beef Bourguignon (Beef Short Rib Braised in Dynamis Estate's 2019 "The Mountain") with Baby Carrots, Pearl Onions, Forest Mushrooms, Bacon Lardons. Like our friends, we also joined the wine club. There are two levels: quarterly, there is a three-bottle selection and a six-bottle selection. Dynamis selects the wines and vintages. The staff informed us that our wines would be available on September 7 and could be picked up at a party at the owner's home at the top of the mountain. When we got to the party, we were greeted by the staff like we were members of their family. We were also treated to one of the most beautiful homes I have ever seen. I have included some pictures. The home is a beautiful stone and wood house, with a magnificent swimming pool, waterfall, and a shooting fire. The kitchen is spectacular. https://www.dynamisestatewines.com/join-our-wine-club/ They served heavy hors d'oeuvres and wines. Other friends were at the party, so we enjoyed the afternoon, view, and food, and my wife was able to enjoy all the different wines since once again I was driving and didn't drink enough. The attendees listened to short presentations from two winemakers; they described the wines that they were making, and which will be available in the future. We had a great day, at a lovely spot. The home was stunning, and the view of Yadkin Valley from the top of the mountain was spectacular. If you like wine, spectacular views, and enjoyable afternoons I strongly recommend Dynamis. https://www.dynamisestatewines.com, https://www.dynamisestatewines.com/reserve-a-tasting/ https://www.dynamisestatewines.com/join-our-wine-club/ https://www.dynamisestatewines.com/browse-our-wines/ 1004 Highland Road Jonesville, NC 28642 (336) 468-6702

Enjoyed a birthday wine day with my friends celebrating two birthdays. We enjoyed a private tasting at this beautiful vineyard. The wine was amazing. I really wished that could have enjoyed one with a juicy steak. Our wine guide was also lovely. Very personable.

Great winery- best NC reds! Our second trip to Dynamis and what a wonderful experience. We love all these wines and were happy to share Dynamis with our friends today. Love being club members!

Dynamis sits on top of the highest peaks in Yadkin County. After a 2.5 mile drive onto the estate, a drive in which you pass orchards, vineyards, bee hives, and forests, you'll arrive at the tasting house, a converted lodge for the former workers of the estate. The grounds are immaculate and peaceful with ample shade and seating around the tasting lodge. The wine flights are expensive at $55 ($45 without a guide) for five wines. The wines and the personalized experience, however, make the cost worth it. They currently offer one white (a delicious French-style Sauvignon Blanc) and four reds (merlot, cab sauv, and two blends--alpha and The Mountain). The reds were all delicious, but the price tags are a little prohibitive for enjoying a bottle on site other than the cheapest offerings (Sauv Blanc-$35 and Merlot-$50). My personal favorite was The Mountain, but the cab sauv varietal was pretty awesome, too). Overall, the business is open by appointment only at the moment, and they're aimed at offering a luxury wine experience. The people are terrific. The overall effect is a success early on, but only time will tell if the strategy is sustainable in the comparatively cheap Yadkin Valley. For what it's worth, I'm a believer and joined the wine club to support the growth of wine, not location, culture in the area.

Love it here! The Rośa is my favorite and the patio sittings is pure perfection! I took a wine club here and they were absolutely amazing!

Lovely, fancy wine tasting experience. The tasting was unlike any other, served in large glasses held on a wooden board/tray. The weather and service was exceptional. Large property and a smaller building for the tastings so make sure to get a reservation to secure your spot. Worth the 40 min drive from WS!! I'll be coming back :)

Terrible and very rude service. Wine is also subpar for the price. Go to another winery.

Our flights: *Elkahol - I remember this one from years ago. It is still very good, great apple flavor, nice and sweet. *The Grateful Red - this was just okay, almost has a chocolate after taste, not for me. *BlackJack BJ - this had nice blackberry flavor, but we have had better blackberry wines, still good. *Slut Dog Sin - really good! Definitely got raspberry, but it was not overpowering. *Summer Daze - this was okay, it was definitely like a watermelon Jolly Rancher. *Spiker Dude - I am not a huge fan of coconut, so this one had way too much coconut for me. I got sunscreen at the beach vibes, definitely not for me. *Peachy Keen - this was very good, definitely peachy. *Bubba Lou's Choice - this was okay, definitely fruity. *Reel Good - I did not like this one. *Tattoo on the beach - this was okay, heavy on the citrus flavors. Favorites of the day were Elkahol, Slut Dog Sin, Peachy Keen, and Blackjack BJ. While Slightly Askew is not up there with my favorite NC wineries, they were still very enjoyable. They were super friendly, and are dog friendly on their patio areas. I would definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Both my wife and I like very dry reds. Most wineries that we have visited have had mostly sweet wines. Slightly Askew has a six wine tasting if just drys; two white and four red. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area. Very dog friendly with a water bowl on the deck and the owner brought out some treats (after asking if that was okay).

Made in a wood fire oven the crust and overall pizza was absolutely the top that I have had recently. The creek if you want to walk down to it was very nice as well. I guess Elkin Creek is on the muddy side, but still quaint and nice to look at as well. Now the wine, I was not blown away unfortunately and each, had a way of making me think I was tasting some type of Kombucha due to the spices used in them an a lingering flavor. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it was that way through all of the six wines we tasted.

Pizza that we ordered was delicious, with brie and bacon and the perfect thinness. It was quite large as well for $21 and we're still thinking about that pizza. But the wines, oh no, I never went to a winery where the wines tasted like they had a vinegar aftertaste. The only one we could stomach was the "soft white". We ordered a bottle of it to have with the Pizza and then walked around the premises to enjoy the creek. We're sad in our hearts that the wine just wasn't our taste, but if you want great wood fire pizza and a beautiful location, definitely come here.

The best part was that the winery was dog friendly for both inside & outside - our two puppies were able to wander around as they please! We were blown away by the tasting which allowed us to sample 9 different wines. We loved the wines so much that we ended up buying 5 bottles to take home. Mandy also provided snack pairings with some of the wines - we had some locally made dark chocolate as well as siracha pimento cheese. The wine tasting room was also beautiful and quite spacious. There were adorable merchandise for sale including antiques, purses, jewelry, personalized towels. There's also a lovely outdoor area and seats on their porch for warmer days.

*pet friendly inside and outside!!!!*…read more We had a somewhat challenging time finding wineries that allowed dogs inside, and since it was august in NC, this was music to our ears that they do! We walked in and were immediately greeted by the friendliest winesta, Mandy, who has been there for over 4 years. She made us feel immediately comfortable and welcomed. She helped us get settled at a table good for our pup, and told us about the tastings. They have an incredible deal - 8 tastings for 15 with a take home glass or 12 without the take home glass; however, there were 2 bonus tastings, also a pairing with dark chocolate and a pairing with cheese (also available for purchase, which we did). Mandy's knowledge and enthusiasm were unmatched and we truly had the best time. We have done a lot of wine tastings over our time together and this was one of the very best we have ever done while the wines were quite good, it was Mandy who really made it special. We purchased two bottles of wines, a tub of the cheese, that we sampled, crackers, and beer nuts to go. Although we are only in Elkin for a short period of time, we are considering coming back one more time during a short visit! If we don't make it back this trip, it will be on our must do for our next trip!
