    Very comfortable setting

What a fun place! The atmosphere is great, the people are fun, the wine names are hilarious and each has a story behind it. I enjoyed all of the wines we sampled and bought three bottles. The tasting is priced very well. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy a glass.

The hub and I ventured in for a tasting and had a lovely tasting experience. The name represents the fact that they have a winery and not a vineyard which means that they buy their grapes from all over the world and blend it into their desired format. The tasting room is warm and inviting & our pourer was very friendly. They have sweet fruit wines, off dry whites, and dry reds. The Cab Franc was my favorite. We'll return again soon.

The owner is very knowledgeable about different wines, grapes, regions. Tried both dry and fruity wines and all excellent

How have I not written a review for this place before? It's all the way in Elkin but well worth the drive. They have sweet, dry and red wines so something for everyone. Their sweet wine list has many more options than the others with creative names like Slut Dog Sin, Nasty Bastard, Spiker Dude, Elkahol (which are my favorites) and many more. A tasting is $7 for 7 wines and includes a cool glass. The staff is always extremely friendly and they tell you some of the history behind the winery and wines. They have a lot of personal photos up on the wall which gives it an intimate feel. There are 3 areas to sit and relax after the tasting. The bottles run from $12 and up. If you can't make it to Elkin then you can find them at the Tanglewood or Winston wine festivals. They also sell the wines in Winston at Corks, caps and taps downtown for almost $16+ a bottle which is pretty overpriced.

The best part was that the winery was dog friendly for both inside & outside - our two puppies were able to wander around as they please! We were blown away by the tasting which allowed us to sample 9 different wines. We loved the wines so much that we ended up buying 5 bottles to take home. Mandy also provided snack pairings with some of the wines - we had some locally made dark chocolate as well as siracha pimento cheese. The wine tasting room was also beautiful and quite spacious. There were adorable merchandise for sale including antiques, purses, jewelry, personalized towels. There's also a lovely outdoor area and seats on their porch for warmer days.

*pet friendly inside and outside!!!!*…read more We had a somewhat challenging time finding wineries that allowed dogs inside, and since it was august in NC, this was music to our ears that they do! We walked in and were immediately greeted by the friendliest winesta, Mandy, who has been there for over 4 years. She made us feel immediately comfortable and welcomed. She helped us get settled at a table good for our pup, and told us about the tastings. They have an incredible deal - 8 tastings for 15 with a take home glass or 12 without the take home glass; however, there were 2 bonus tastings, also a pairing with dark chocolate and a pairing with cheese (also available for purchase, which we did). Mandy's knowledge and enthusiasm were unmatched and we truly had the best time. We have done a lot of wine tastings over our time together and this was one of the very best we have ever done while the wines were quite good, it was Mandy who really made it special. We purchased two bottles of wines, a tub of the cheese, that we sampled, crackers, and beer nuts to go. Although we are only in Elkin for a short period of time, we are considering coming back one more time during a short visit! If we don't make it back this trip, it will be on our must do for our next trip!

Made in a wood fire oven the crust and overall pizza was absolutely the top that I have had recently. The creek if you want to walk down to it was very nice as well. I guess Elkin Creek is on the muddy side, but still quaint and nice to look at as well. Now the wine, I was not blown away unfortunately and each, had a way of making me think I was tasting some type of Kombucha due to the spices used in them an a lingering flavor. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it was that way through all of the six wines we tasted.

Pizza that we ordered was delicious, with brie and bacon and the perfect thinness. It was quite large as well for $21 and we're still thinking about that pizza. But the wines, oh no, I never went to a winery where the wines tasted like they had a vinegar aftertaste. The only one we could stomach was the "soft white". We ordered a bottle of it to have with the Pizza and then walked around the premises to enjoy the creek. We're sad in our hearts that the wine just wasn't our taste, but if you want great wood fire pizza and a beautiful location, definitely come here.

The greeting staff at the station were also wonderful. The wine tour itself was good (we chose the Green line). The best wineries in our opinion were Raffaldini and Piccione. I had an absolutely terrible experience with Vine Line today. Earlier in the week I had signed up…read morefor the final spot in one of their tours today as I made plans to spend a long weekend of wineries, waterfall hikes and breweries. And the wine hop bus tour was a major component of what I wanted/planned to do this weekend. In claiming the final spot on this particular tour I thought I would be joining other singles, perhaps, and some couples for a day of wine tasting and winery touring. But no. This was a a group of 8 30-something women out on a girls day out for a birthday celebration. Vine Line knew that when they allowed me - a single man (while social and gregarious I am in my early 60s) - to book the reservation and board the bus. In spite of this incongruity everything seemed fine until we got to the first winery when one of the women "without wanting to be rude" very rudely said they did not want me at the winery - a concept I understood because it seemed odd to me as well. She then told me I wasn't even welcome on their bus - a service I had paid Vine Line for, and not them - and that she had called Vine Line about this. A few minutes later I got a call from Vine Line confirming this. What was supposed to be a gorgeous fun day winery hopping turned into something awkward, uncomfortable, and embarrassing for me - and unnecessarily so given that Vine Line owners - either Shannon or Dennis - could have (should have) interceded so that I did not end up totally out on of place what effectively was a private tour. I don't blame the ladies - except for the tone/words of one of them. This was all on Vine Line. Vine Line's first solution was to offer a private driver to take me to the different wineries. No go - signed up to go to the wineries with other people and not to be privately chauffeured by someone I didn't know. I had to ask for a refund before I was offered one - that should have been the first thing they did. This would be a one-star event. But the owner did take ownership of the situation and apologized for it (although the further he went into his explanation the less logical sense it made but I decided not to challenge it - it was a negative enough day as it was) . Over two hours later they made a mitigating offer of two gift certificates for future use. Because the owner took ownership of this mess and apologized, and because of the mitigating offer my one star is now two stars. When I once again have someone in my life with whom I travel I will go out and give them another chance - this is something that really should have been a lot of fun.
