David and Lupe absolutely did the best job. They took care of everything and anytime our friends or family talk to us on the phone, they remind us how much fun they had at our wedding that we hired Dynamic sounds to DJ and plan. David has a nice inviting voice that was able to get the entire room involved in whatever we were doing. The music selection (if there is a way to copy it and send it to us please do) was fantastic, tasteful and full of life. Lupe took care of every detail that we had no idea that we were missing. On top of that, they were a true inspiration to having a long happy marriage. Occasionally, we try to find them when they are running trivia. They have a great team and it's impossible to be in bad spirits when they are running the show. Thanks again you guys rock! read more

Dynamic Sounds Hawaii - Party & Event Planning Near Me

Having Dynamic Sounds Hawaii emcee and DJ for my baby's 1st birthday party has to be one of the best decisions I've made. Having paid the caterer over $6,000 to feed 500 guests and not show up until 9 pm (when dinner was supposed to be served at 6 pm) was just a nightmare. Because all the phone numbers I got via email just went straight to voicemail, David worked his magic and was able to get a phone number from his wife Lupe to get a hold of the caterer's owner, who supposedly "accidentally deleted my order". He did an amazing job continuing the party as it should while also keeping my guests informed and me calm. Prior to the party, I was in close contact with both David and Lupe. Communication was just superb. David listened and carried out my requests for the party, like our song choices. And, Lupe did an excellent job coming up with the timeline. Both would bring up concerns and suggestions/ideas that I wouldn't have thought of - just so everything going on during the party would run smoothly. In terms of price, they are more than willing to work around your budget. I would not hesitate for a second to work with them again! I really cannot thank David and Lupe, their son and staff enough for making my baby's party a success despite this huge mishap. read more

Extremely disappointed with our experience working with Dynamic Sounds Hawaii, which ended up with Dynamic Sounds taking our money & disappearing with 0 services fulfilled. My husband and I were one of many unlucky couples who had planned a wedding for 2020 and forced to reschedule MULTIPLE times throughout the pandemic. We landed on Dynamic Sounds after a few other DJs we had booked weren't able to make our new dates. After the first couple calls with David and Lupe we had a great feeling about them and were excited to move forward with them. Unfortunately due to additional updates and changes to covid restrictions in Hawaii we had to downsize and move our reception outdoors, to which we were told by our venue we wouldn't be allowed to have amplified sound due to the close proximity to hotel rooms and our ceremony being moved up to the morning. After sharing this info with Dynamic Sounds, they told us they couldn't refund our $1,000 deposit and that the venue prohibiting amplified sound for our reception was out of their control. And after we asked for a partial refund, CRICKETS. I completely understand the pandemic had huge impacts on businesses, but with covid restrictions easing, and wedding business picking back up, we didn't expect any of our vendors to rob us and disappear. Dynamic Sounds was the ONLY vendor who didn't offer any kind of refund (partial or full), or even an alternative service to fulfill the deposit we paid. Not the experience I expected when first speaking with David and Lupe. And definitely not something I'd recommend to anyone else trying to plan a special occassion, let alone their "big day" after 1.5 years of covid triumphs. read more

Oh my goodness gracious, I freaking love Lupe and David Louis. We had our wedding over a month ago and everything was absolutely perfect, and a big part of it is because of them. I initially heard about Dynamic Sounds from the Wedding Cafe, and I knew that I wanted to book with David. He was sooo knowledgable and seemed like he understood all aspects of the wedding process, and the wedding itself. I felt very comfortable with him and knew that he would provide excellent service. After agreeing to book with Dynamic Sounds, we had two interviews with Lupe to discuss the timeline of our wedding. Since I didn't have a wedding planner and was doing all of the planning on my own, she was a real lifesaver bc she came up with the most detailed timeline that I have ever seen. She actually had two timelines...one was the "simplified" version that goes to the vendors (except when my bridal party saw this they were so impressed with how detailed it was), and then she had an even MORE detailed version that was for herself and David, so that they knew exactly what was going to happen at every single minute. It was really great to see how organized she was bc it matches up with how I try to be. And so it made the wedding day so much smoother bc we knew exactly what to expect at all times. Another thing I wanted to give Lupe extra credit for is that my husband and I both had separate surprises for each other that we both did not know about (I had a hula dance and he had a singing performance). And Lupe had to be on the ball with this and make sure that we did not find out about the other person's surprise. Also, my bridesmaids came up with a surprise rap song for me as their "speech", so Lupe had to secretly coordinate with them and make sure that David had the correct song, etc. During the reception I thought that I was the only one giving a performance but I was caught off guard by all the other surprises and had no idea that Lupe orchestrated it all behind the scenes. It just blew me away how much work she put into keeping it a secret! And she did it so gracefully too! So Lupe mentioned that she helps with the wedding timelines but she doesn't always attend the weddings. We were so shocked and honored when Lupe made a surprise appearance towards the end of our wedding reception to congratulate us! It was such a sweet gesture and she literally made me cry of joy when I saw her! :*) Now for some well-deserved accolades for David. He was such a great MC and everyone raved about how fun our wedding was ("fun" was one of the top things we wanted our wedding to be). He executed a couple of really fun and interactive games and our guests had a blast. David was able to get so many of our guests to do things that I never would've imagined that they'd do. Haha. I'm sure the alcohol played a little part in it but I think it was mostly David. :) All of our guests had a blast and so did we! In all honesty I was a bit hesitant to book with Dynamic Sounds initially because I thought that their prices were a bit steep. But once I realized all that they were doing for us I felt confidant in my decision to book with them. And especially looking back at everything and seeing how smoothly things went because of them, I am so so happy that we did! read more

Dynamic Sounds Hawaii - With David Louis & his wife Lupe! She made a surprise appearance towards the end of our wedding and we were so touched! :*) - Party & Event Planning Near Me

To start off, David and Lupe are more than amazing. I owe my "Happily Ever After" all to them :). First of all, I first saw David and Lupe in action at my sister's wedding last March. I knew that no matter what, I would want them at my wedding someday. My sister first saw Dynamic Sound at the wedding cafés wedding workshop featuring the wedding timeline and reception. We are sure glad we attended that workshop. After I became engaged, my mom insisted that we have them. She said "if you don't get them, your wedding will be boring". Lol. Boy was she right!!!!! Everything from the planning process to the day of the wedding, David and Lupe are there every step of the way. You don't even need to hire a coordinator because Lupe takes care of everything for you!!!!! From a bride's point of view, I can say they both really decreased my stress. I knew that everything would be taken care of. I also really want to mention how amazing their ideas are. Lupe and David offered amazing suggestions for games, songs, and ways to jazz up the traditional things. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! My favorite idea was the way we had our tables get excused for lunch (buffet). Lupe knew that i really love Disney so instead of having a banquet captain come around, people were excused for lunch when their Disney song was played. I chose the songs and Lupe and David printed up cards with the name of their songs on the table. Such a great idea!!! It was magical. And I got to hear my favorite Disney songs. There is so much more to say, but I can't fit it in this review. Basically, Lupe and David asked me how I pictured my wedding day to be. I said fun and memorable. Hands down, David and Lupe provided more than I could have ever expected or imagined. To this day, people are telling me that my wedding was one of the most fun and entertaining weddings that they've been to. Please think of them for your wedding. You will not regret at all! I promise!! Thanks so much for everything David, Lupe, and all of the other staff from Dynamic Sound. Love you all. read more

Dynamic Sounds Hawaii - We love you David and Lupe. They are so incredibly amazing! - Party & Event Planning Near Me

David and Lupe were awesome to work with! We hired David for our MC/DJ and Lupe for our day-of coordination and that was the best choice we have made for our wedding. Lupe scheduled hour-long calls with us every 2-3 weeks to make sure we get the vendors we needed and having her help just made our life so much easier. You can tell that she is genuinely passionate about making people's dream weddings come true. David was super knowledgeable and fun to work with as well - everybody at the wedding loved the music and the vibe was just amazing. Thanks guys! read more

This review is so over due! My husband and I got married one year ago, and we still remember how perfect everything went because of our rock star team of support like Dynamic Sounds. We wanted an emcee who would entertain our guests and help us set the right tone. Dynamic Sounds did just that and more! They stepped in to help us make sure the technical stuff of sound and even playing our music for the event was take care of. We are so appreciative of all of their time and care. David and Lupe are such genuinely nice people too that it felt so great to have them be a part of our day. read more

My wife Julie and I chose Dynamic Sounds as our DJ/MC for our wedding and we could not be happier with how our big day went. Our experience with DS started with David while we were first shopping around with other DJ options. David was friendly, honest, and informative of what their process was and what he can expect from us through planning and execution of the ceremony and reception. We felt comfortable with the plan David established so Julie and me decided to go with DS. Shortly after we agreed on terms Lupe took over as our point of contact for the vendor, and the communication transitioned over smoothly from our initial conversation with David. After a brief introduction conversation over the phone, Lupe drafted us an extensive outline for both our ceremony and reception less than a week later. After only one more follow up phone call a few weeks later making a few minor adjustments to the initial outline we were pretty much set for the wedding. During this planning Lupe also made a point to retrieve contact information to our other vendors and our actual wedding coordinator which made us feel better knowing that someone else was keeping an eye over the whole operation. Once our outline was set, Lupe passed the communication for us over to Gary (the actual DJ/MC for our event) who we contacted about two weeks prior to wedding day. Gary was a blast to talk to on the phone. After a few short beatbox snippets and a couple hilarious Dad jokes, I knew we had our guy. We went over Lupe's outline one more time while bouncing some ideas off each other of more entertainment we can add to the day and Gary was open and very helpful to all our ideas, good and bad. On the wedding day, Gary met me just prior to the ceremony to introduce himself and briefly give me a heads up of what to expect as I walk out to the altar. He also introduced me to Tino, the man behind the music. The ceremony was perfect and all our songs were spot on to the exact second throughout, even through multiple transitions throughout the ceremony. As we moved to the reception and hecticness ensued trying to organize all the rowdy guests and family members, Gary did a great job getting everyone and the bridal party set for the grand entrances and first dance. Everything was settled quickly and the program continued smoothly. Gary and Tino did an awesome job not only sticking to our program but being flexible in a few instances. Gary charmingly addressed the crowd a couple times for brief intermissions allowing Julie and me more time to eat and even use the bathroom. Gary and Tino, along with our wedding coordinator, also organized an on the spot wedding anniversary dance for my parents (who happened to have their wedding anniversary the same day). I can't appreciate the efforts of everyone in DS enough in making our ceremony and reception as special for Our families as it was for Julie and me. Everyone in Dynamic Sounds was wonderful from the first phone call until our last good bye at the wedding reception. Thank you again David, Lupe, Gary, and Tino for all your hard work in making our day as special as possible! read more

I was so so so blessed to have Dynamic Sounds recommended to me. They were one of my favorite vendors to work with for our wedding. We got to work with both David and Lupe because we purchased the MC/DJ/Wedding Coordinator package. Let me tell you - soooooo worth it! Technically, on paper, it says Lupe was our Day-of-WC, but really, it felt like Lupe was our WC the entire way. She met with us several times face-to-face to make sure that we were on the right track. We live far from her, so I loved that she chose a meeting location in the middle so that we could meet halfway. During the meetings, Lupe was just so warm, friendly, totally organized, and helped us brainstorm creative ideas for our wedding and understand what our next to-do list was. She really helped us stay on top of things, and she scaffolded the information on a "need-to-know" basis so that we never got overwhelmed. For David's part, he really spent a lot of time walking us through everything and all our different choices during our initial video conference through Skype. He is just so well-knowledgeable and charismatic. We found out he has been formally trained and in the business for many, many years. Both him and Lupe even run workshops and classes (like at the Wedding Cafe for example), and they attend conferences and such to stay educated and atop their profession. David even met with us face-to-face as we got closer to the big day to review everything with us. The attention to details was awesome - name pronunciations, jokes he might tell, song and game choices, plan As and plan Bs, etc. Both David and Lupe take the time to get to know their couples on a personal level. They helped us craft a wedding that represented who WE are as a couple. On the day of the wedding, everything went smoothly without a hitch! If there were any problems, I never knew about them because Lupe probably just took care of it! Ha ha! They literally MADE the wedding what it was. I could not have done it without Lupe's help. She is just so organized, energetic, warm, happy, experienced, and lovable. And David's MCing was just AWESOME! He helped my guests understand the part they played in our special day - he made it so that our reception was not just a "sit and spectate" event. He got our guests involved and made everyone laugh, feel emotion, interact, and have fun. My co-worker thought that David knew us personally for a long time - that's just how good of an MC he is. I highly recommend Dynamic Sounds, and specifically, the MC/DJ/WC package. Because Lupe and David are husband and wife, they work together and communicate to ensure that the details of the wedding, the entertainment, and the script, all fit together like puzzle pieces. Everyone is on the same page. There's no surprises or unknowns when the big day arrives - just an unforgettable experience with loved ones. My wedding was the best day of my life. And I couldn't have done it without Dynamic Sounds. read more

David & Lupe are the best! They made our wedding more special than we could have hoped for! David is a great MC! When I was originally looking I kept coming across former club DJs here on the island and what we really wanted was someone who can hold his own on the microphone and get the whole party involved! Because let's face it you will have your playlist you don't need a DJ talking over your music you need a MC to make your day special and have the right words and thoughts to make it unique and David did exactly that and for a good competitive price less than these so called former big club DJs on the island. In addition I can't say enough good things about his wife Lupe who started out helping with our wedding planning and we ended up hiring her as our wedding coordinator, once our other coordinator bailed on us due to a better a better paying gig (can you believe that!) not only did Lupe step in two weeks before our date and save our wedding but made it more amazing and special that we could have hoped for! This Duo is amazing easily the best on island...these guys can do it all! -Much love & Mahalo for David & Lupe read more

I love Dave, Lupe, and DeeAnn! They were the best! Literally as we were interviewing Dave, he gave us such personal and touching ideas for the reception that it made both of us tear. His reception ideas were ingenious and memorable! Everyone at the wedding loved him. His personality was great! Everyone had so much fun! Our guests still tell us that our wedding was the most fun they have ever had at any wedding. Lupe was a joy to work with as well. Organizing the timeline with her and Kelly Sugano made the whole wedding perfect! I just wish Lupe could have attended the reception as well. read more

David and Lupe did an awesome job on making our wedding reception such a romantic, festive and fun event! The first time I heard on some of the ideas David suggested at the Wedding Cafe workshop on how to make ones wedding reception memorable and unique...I was hooked! So the next step was to set-up a consult with David and see if he can help us celebrate our very special day. Both David and Lupe gave great ideas on how to personalize our wedding reception. Lupe worked on our timeline for our reception and took away some of the stress since I was planning this wedding on my own. David did an excellent job as our emcee and all of our guests raved over how funny, professional and fantastic he was! He even helped make sure everything ran smoothly. Hiring Dynamic Sounds Hawaii as our emcee and DJ were worth every penny we spent! read more

This was the best vendor choice we made for our wedding! Not hiring a coordinator and planning it by myself, David and Lupe executed a reception to the detail that still has our family and friends saying, "THAT WAS THE BEST WEDDING EVER!!!" They created a timeline for our reception the allowed our guests to never feel bored or feel like everything is moving to fast. Their attention to detail is impeccable and truly how every wedding reception should be. They really take pride in their work and pay attention to the importance of that day and the real meaning of why this reception is taking place. We met with Lupe for all the pre-planning and from the very beginning she catered this day to the ideas and wants of us as a couple and totally reflected this event off of us. They really do care for their clients and put all their efforts into making this one day memorable for a lifetime. I TOTALLY recommend them to anyone, you will not regret it!!!! BEST investment for your special day!!!! read more

David and Lupe were easy to work with and were very considerate of making sure our reception worked for us. They were a referral from my cousin who used Dynamic Sounds for their wedding as well. There was a game that my cousin had played that they had initially recommended for us; when they realized the game had been played before the gave us another option and it worked out really well. As we were figuring out the specifics, Lupe got a bit mixed up on some of the details (my mom's name, and whether we had responded to their requests), but she was very responsive and it didn't cause any issues. One thing I would recommend is to figure out who is going to own the timeline. Lupe is great at setting up the timeline, but it's possible with a coordinator that there are too many cooks in the kitchen. David was a very natural and engaging emcee, and gave us some of our edited songs in advance so we could practice our first dance, etc. I left some things to the last minute, but David and Leah were very accommodating! read more

My wife told our wedding planner that we wanted an MC that was funny, tasteful and professional and the first company she recommended was Dynamic Sounds. Before our wedding we met with Dave and Lupe several times to go over our time line and first dance. We really wanted to do several things out of the norm to ensure our guests were on their toes. They gave us great ideas for the garter/bouquet toss, different games during the ceremony, and center piece give away that were different from anything I've ever seen. Dave did a great job to make everything interesting, lively, and romantic at the same time. Our wedding reception was awesome and many of our guests said it was the best they've ever been to. One last thing....the game that everyone loved the most was the "Real Best Man" contest. It had everyone rolling on the floor laughing. It was the highlight of my night.....other than getting married to my wife. read more

Dynamic sounds was amazing! We hired Lupe to help us coordinate the wedding and Gary to DJ for the event. Both Lupe and Gary were very easy to talk to and extremely organized. Lupe was extremely responsive to all of my emails, calls, and texts. She was very reassuring and definitely helped our day run smoothly. We hired her for the day of coordination but she went out of her way to help plan everything months before the wedding. Gary was full of energy and made our reception a blast. He played the perfect songs at the right times so the dance floor was never empty! We would absolutely recommend them for any wedding. read more

If there is one thing I heard all night long at our wedding, it was "Your MC is soooo good!". He really was. I have a friend in this exact business who offered to do my wedding for a really good price. I've used him before for parties and he was fine for that. But this was my wedding day, not just any party. This requires much more knowledge, patience, and finesse. David brought all of that and he was absolutely worth every single penny--our guest's compliments and my sanity are testament to that. We worked with DeeAnn initially, starting from a year prior to our wedding. Then we consulted with David for a good amount of time about exactly what we wanted. I still feel like we were so vague with him--it's hard for me to describe what kind of people we are and how we want the ambiance to be without sounding so generic. We're fun, laid-back, low-maintenance people. That being said, I'm also a neurotic perfectionist with enormous attention to detail and a quirky sense of humor--I think I left all that craziness out when I met him. So I feel like he had little to go on. But he nailed it. Our wedding went off without a hitch. I hired Dave to do the ceremony music, reception music, and as my MC. He did everything perfectly. If you ever meet him, he'll tell you what sets him apart from other MCs...the little attention to detail to make sure there are no awkward pauses in your program. He'll also start throwing all kinds of fun and crazy ideas, if that's what you want, to make your reception totally unique. Our guests had such a blast and we did too with the ideas David had. It was a party...just like we wanted it to be. It wasn't boring or prissy or so structure that it felt starchy. Make no mistake, it was structured, but only the people behind the scenes knew that. Everyone else just felt like they were at a fun party. The rest of the planning process was primarily between Lupe (his wife) and myself. I feel like I gained a friend out of Lupe. She is just about the prettiest, sweetest little package of love and I can see how she and David make the perfect couple. She did all the legwork on our wedding to make sure that everything we wanted got done, even if I missed all her deadlines. She was always gracious and patient with me. David worked with me even on the day of when I decided to make his job challenging. Just before our grand entrance, he reminded me of what we were supposed to be doing: walk in, hand off the bouquet, dance, take back the bouquet, make my way to the podium to do Thank Yous. Thank Yous?! I didn't have time to write them yet, and stupid me...I didn't look that hard at the itinerary...I thought they were later in the program. No problem, David said. He can move it to later in the program to give me some time to come up with something. Phew!!!! BIG Thanks to him for that! The biggest compliment I can pay David and Lupe is to say that nearly every guest that attended our wedding told us that ours was the best wedding they'd ever been to, and that our MC was fantastic. He really was and I will hire David again in a heartbeat if I have any reason to. read more

Dynamic Sounds is the best! At the first meeting we had with Dave, he had so many great ideas to make our wedding unique and memorable. We did not want to have a repeat of so many other weddings we had been to that were boring and the same games. He really had a lot of great, new ideas that we hadn't ever seen before. Working with Lupe was great. Through every appointment, she was able to provide suggestions to on how to mix things up and personalize our reception. She did a great job putting together our timeline. Dave did an excellent job at our reception. He was funny and lively and kept the crowd engaged. We got many compliments on how unique and different our reception was, and that the games were great. Our guests have told us that it's the best reception they've been to as it was more fun and interactive, as well as smooth flowing with no down time and awkward pauses. I highly recommend Dynamic Sounds and would work with them again. read more

I first saw this company in action at my friend's wedding. I went stag and was worried that I would feel uncomfortable and lonely since I was by myself and not knowing who I was going to sit with and dealing with awkward small talk. I was wrong! They made me feel so comfortable and got the guests involved on making memories for the bride and groom. I had so much fun that I forgot that I arrived to my friend's wedding by myself! Fast forward to when I started my wedding planning process, I knew that I wanted to contact them for my wedding reception. We first spoke to David via Skype and he talked to us about what his services entails (which had meetings and a timeline for the reception). But we feel we got a lot more as they went above and beyond our expectations! Our wedding planner actually recommended them and it was good to know that they have worked together with past clients as well as get along outside the "office." All the vendors that we talked to said we basically got all our "key players" of our dream team which was nice to know that we hired the right people! I relied heavily on email correspondence in which Lupe was awesome in replying in a timely matter. Our meetings with Lupe and David were truly fun and I felt they really went above and beyond what we asked for. On top of the timeline that they made with my wedding planner they also included cards for our guests to fill out while they were waiting for our grand entrance. Some of these advice cards were read out lout which gave some laughs for us throughout the day. They also helped us create games as well as some special moments for everyone throughout the reception and we love looking back and reminiscing on them. With Dynamic Sounds, I knew that my guests would not be bored at all and would be invovled as much as they could or felt comfortable with. Thank you David and Lupe for all your help in our wedding! Hope to see you at another event! (hopefully when my siblings get married) read more

Friends have recommended Dynamic Sounds and have been used for 2 different wedding occasions. Both only had positive things to say. Attempted to book the dynamic duo owners Dave and Lupe about a year out and they were already taken! They had other MC's working with them and I was able to do 2 interviews. I was fortunate to find David D. who was funny and easy going. When wedding day came (first time meeting him in person), he gave my husband and I a hug and told us not to worry and assured us that the night was going to be fun. As busy as that day was, it was soothing to hear those simple words. Let me tell you, David D. was amazing! We only had time for 2 games, although they had ideas in mind there was 1 I wanted to play that involved each guest table so it was a huge crowd participation. I found the game on youtube sent the link to Lupe and went over it. That day came and sure enough we played it at the reception and it became such a big hit :) They took their time to watch it, learn it, personalized it and I am grateful because many of our guests enjoyed it. David D. kept the crowd entertained and was approachable for the audience. He also went above and beyond to help me plan a surprise performance. Some of the guest had complimented that it was one the most entertaining weddings they've been to. I would recommend having David D. as an MC at your wedding absolutely the best! Communication was key throughout this process. It was a destination wedding so everything was done via phone and email. Lupe and David D. were prompt on answering emails. As busy as summer weddings are, Lupe called me if she couldn't get a hold of me via email, notified me when she was on vacation and even referred me to Deanne in place of her, I had mentioned I was stressed and received a phone call that night. Upon our meeting, Lupe took authority on the timeline and provided suggestions and prepared time slots for everything that went on during the wedding. During the planning process, we could opt to provide a detailed song list during cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing otherwise providing the type of music/artist wanted was also sufficient. She played a key factor in keeping the reception stress-free, manageable, and was also familiar with some of my vendors so she took the initiative to email them with updates. Lupe is pleasant and wonderful. Tino was my DJ for the day who was also great. Being able to sing quietly to ourselves with our preplanned song selection did put us in a good mood. Prior to the wedding, John another DJ was able to remix together a few songs for a surprised dance for the groom. Without hesitation they were able to do it precisely the way I wanted it and more, no extra charge it was all within the same package no matter how many times we changed it! The rest of the songs during the night was also great, the dance floor was filled with people till the end. Thank you Dynamic Sounds for the great memories established. It truly was an awesome night and glad you guys were there to make it happen! read more

Dynamic Sounds Hawaii - With the famous David D.!! - Party & Event Planning Near Me

Oh, how I love Dynamic Sounds! Lupe and David are such a great team & couple! Both of them are an absolute pleasure to work with. From the beginning, they made sure everything was in order and they made the reception planning process very easy for us. As a teacher, I wanted everything to flow smoothly and that's exactly what we got. :) They really listened to what we wanted in our reception and went above and beyond our expectations. It's bittersweet now that our wedding is over. Getting to know such a fantastic vendor for over a year and not working with them anymore is a bit sad. It's a major part of our special day that I'll always treasure! Thank you so much Lupe, David, and Tino! read more

I can't say enough nice things about the team at Dynamic Sounds. They really provided extra value on our big day and here are some key reasons why: 1. Lupe created the perfect reception timeline for us to capture everything we wanted while we had our photographer and videographer. She also synced up with our coordinator so that i didn't need to send any emails, they were on the same page. 2. Chris, our DJ, kept us on time the entire night without feeling like we were on a time crunch. Everything was at a great pace. 3. Attention to name pronunciations, seems small but trust me no one wants to hear their name mispronounced. 4. Advice cards. We hadn't even thought of this until Chris and Lupe asked if they could do this. After our wedding, we had so much fun reading through what our friends and family wrote for us. 5. Great music. our dance floor was packed for the entire dancing portion of our night thanks to Chris and Tino keeping the music going. All age groups were on the dance floor enjoying themselves. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars! read more

Dynamic Sounds (Dave, Lupe and DeAnn) are outstanding! My wife and I decided to go with them to both emcee and dj our wedding and couldn't be happier with our experience and the way our wedding/reception turned out. Our initial contact was with Dave via Skpe (as we were planning our wedding at Ko'Olina from the mainland), who explained Dynamic Sounds' style/philosophy of focusing on creating memorable and personable moments. It was clear that Dave had many years of experience but still very much cares about his clients and the quality of his work. This friendly, caring and professional attitude continued on the planning front as we worked with Lupe (who we love), on figuring out our program, music and timeline. Lupe is super positive and patient and she spends a ton of time working with you to make your program special. She made us feel at ease with every interaction and we felt great about the program plans before our wedding (and took time out of her weekend to stop by our wedding to say hello...normally it is just Dave and his team on the day off ). With all of their experience, caring, preparation and time, it was no surprise to us that things turned out great and that all of our guests had a ball. They worked seamlessly with our wedding coordinator, Fred and Kate Events, and there were many compliments on the program, emcee style, and flow of the evening. Thanks so much for really making our day so special! We highly recommend Dynamic Sounds if you are looking for a tailored, memorable program! read more

We first found Dynamic Sounds through The Wedding Cafe Hawaii's Wednesday Night Workshops. They were also recommended to us by my sister and brother-in-law who used their services for their wedding three years ago. After attending The Wedding Cafe Hawaii's Wednesday Night Workshops, and hearing what David Louis had to say about creating the perfect wedding reception timeline, we knew that his company was a perfect fit for us. We met with David for our consultation and liked his ideas, so we decided to book him. Afterwards, we met with his wife, Lupe, who created our wedding reception timeline. They are both very professional and we had a great time meeting with them! Dynamic Sounds is very flexible and they make sure to please their couples. They did not judge us, as we went on a more nontraditional path, and were very accommodating about it! For example, we decided not to do the garter toss, bouquet toss, or mother/son dance. We also wanted to take sunset photos, and they made sure to include that in the program since they knew it was important to us. They also were able to create a "dancing in the clouds" type of effect for our first dance, which we loved! On our wedding day, it was nice that David would check in on us every so often to make sure that we were doing ok, to see if we needed anything, and to let us know what would happen next in our program. Our main goal for our wedding was to make sure that our guests had a fun, memorable, and romantic experience. Dynamic Sounds was able to create that type of atmosphere for our guests. After our wedding, many of our guests have told us how fun it was and that it was the BEST wedding they've ever been to. We are so thankful for being able to work with Dee Ann, David, Lupe, and their other assistants. They are SO nice and were able to help us create the wedding of our dreams. We couldn't have asked for a better MC/DJ service! read more

Dave DJ'd our wedding and he was amazing! Dave and Lupe make a great team. He listened to our ideas, had wonderful suggestions, and kept our guests entertained! They truly made our wedding day stress and and kept everyone on the dance floor! Thank you Dynamic sounds for making our day so special! read more

Leading up to the day of our marriage, Lupe met up with us countless times to finalize our timeline and to make sure we felt comfortable with our wedding reception. On the day of, Lupe was there to make sure everything flowed smoothly and I knew I could trust her and her team 1000%. David Dunaway who was our emcee for the night did a fantastic job at making smooth transitions and of course making everyone have a good time. The DJ played amazing music that kept the dance floor alive the entire night after the formal program was complete. Jeff and I can't thank you guys enough. We wish we could relive every moment of it! We literally had the best day of our lives on our wedding day and it wouldn't have been possible without you guys! read more

You want to work with David, Lupe and team, TRUST me. I was extremely selective about my vendors, most importantly the DJ/MC because music is everything to me. I spoke with several DJ's and Dynamic Sounds was HANDS DOWN the most obvious choice as they stood out above everyone else due to professionalism, ease of ability to work with, willingness to give us what we want and overall good vibes. David and Lupe provided many tools and resources to guide us through the very stressful process of planning a wedding. These guys have got this process down to a science. They wanted to make sure everything was just the way we wanted it for our reception and boy did it work out. I am so pleased. They provided suggestions to us for personalizing our reception, they created a timeline that I gave to my day of wedding coordinator, they helped things move along seamlessly and most importantly, the music and MC services were ON POINT. This is your DJ/MC, look no further. read more

We booked Dynamic sounds to be the DJ and Emcee at my brothers wedding. In the months leading up to the wedding we worked with Lupe through email, filling out timeline forms and just trying to organize a program for the reception. Lupe was very patient with us, even up to the week prior to the wedding we were changing things around and she was kind in organizing everything to fit what the bride and groom wanted on their big day. We also worked closely with DeeAnn who made an effort to meet us where it was most convenient to us and I appreciated that. DeeAnn was very help in just updating us on what things they needed and what the bride and groom wanted. A couple of days before the wedding we met with our Emcee: Dave Dunaway. Right from the get go we were excited to have him as our Emcee. Very enthusiastic, local and warm personality. On the day of the wedding he was awesome! He incorporated a game into the program and EVERYONE enjoyed it! The team was very flexible with the program because what's a wedding without a few surprises? But they worked very well with us and we appreciated that. The only thing that prevents me from giving them 5 stars is that we simply requested no "Dirty/Booty Music" because we had a lot of church family there, yet it was played. I specifically asked although it was requested respectfully do not play it and it was still played. I had to go to the DJ and ask him to please change it to like 80's music or something else clean. He did but it wasn't really songs that people danced to. The dance started off great and everyone was having a good time but it died down no later than 30-45mins. I would still recommend dynamic sounds to other but you should be really specific and clear on what you want. read more

We had a small intimate wedding with our closest friends and family at Halekulani's Hau Terrace. David and Lupe is a dynamic duo of Dynamic Sound that made our wedding an unforgettable night. Their attention to detail, experience, and professionalism are what make them stand out from all the other MC's we interviewed Lupe drafted a detailed timeline of our wedding reception down to the last minute. I just have to say, as a wedding planning noob, this timeline was a life saver! Having a small wedding, we wanted to involve all of our guests in the celebration, so we wanted to include a lot of games and dancing. The order and length of the speeches, games, dances, activities were all laid out in the timeline, this helped the night run so smoothly. David and his assistant executed the timeline to perfection. As an MC, David was personable, funny, and engaging. All of our guests had a blast, it was definitely one of the highlights of the night to see all of our friends and family laughing, dancing, and having a great time. The night exceeded our expectations, it went without a glitch. Well maybe a small one, when I forgot my garter in the hotel room; but leave it to David to have a spare new garter just for such an occasion. This is where their experience in the business definitely came in handy. If you want to have a stress free, fun, and unforgettable wedding then book with them! It also helped immensely that they've done weddings at the Hau Terrace before, since they're familiar with the house rules and the staff members. read more

Don Faumuina- The emcee from Dynamic Sounds Honolulu was horrible! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! He was so rude to the bridal party and to the guests. When the bridal party arrived when the wedding planner told them to, he already had an attitude. Being very smart and disrespectful. I was shocked how he was treating us. asking questions we obviously didn't know the answers to because we didn't rehearse anything for the reception. And this was our first time meeting him. why would you ask the maid of honor "do you know where your going to stand" when she clearly doesn't know where to go because you didn't tell her where to go. and laugh when she tells you where she thinks she's supposed to go? And you say nope, your wrong. Aren't we paying you to be here and tell us where to go? Not act like your better then us. Act your age, not your shoe size. He was very unprofessional in the way he greeted us and talked to us. He talked to us like we were children. He had a stick up his butt the whole night. He acted like he did not want to be there! Do not request Don Faumuina! he is unprofessional, not personable at all, rude, disrespectful, a smart alec, he didn't care at all about anybody except himself. He didn't take pride in his work. He looked drained and was super grumpy. He wasn't funny at all. nobody was interested in what he had to say. he didn't relate to the couple or the audience. After the maid of honor and best man said their speeches He said "people always forget to prepare a toast" so he said a toast. But the maid of honor did a toast at the end of her speech. That's just one example how he was incorrect in what he was saying. You can jus tell he's doing his job for the paycheck, it's not his passion. He doesn't enjoy his job and it shows. And I will definitely call his boss tomorrow and let her or him know what happened last night so he can get talked to or written up because his attitude and actions were unacceptable. Good luck! read more

Dynamic Sounds Hawaii - BE AWARE of Don Faumuina!!! He has zero customer service skills and very unprofessional! - Party & Event Planning Near Me

Holy Crap! This team is awesome! We had Dynamic Sounds DJ/MC our wedding reception a few weeks ago. Two things I was worried about in planning the wedding - the food and the music! I contacted them early on and Lupe contacted me and had us fill out questionaires to help make the day go smoothly. We had two skype appointments with her to go over our timeline (which she shared with our planner to make it even easier). She gave us many tips and ideas about how to make the reception more fun.. my advice is to TAKE HER IDEAS!!! They were the best! Day of the wedding - David and his crew were awesome in keeping the crowd engaged. He played games, read advice cards that guests didnt know were going to be read aloud, and played the music we requested. We are from California and so were 99.9% of our guests. They had a great time dancing to the music we grew up with, and being in the wonderful surroundings of Hawaii. I searched quite a bit for DJs before settling on Dynamic Sounds. There were a few that were cheaper, but upon reading their bad yelp reviews, I decided to go with David and Lupe. Now I wish I went with them from the beginning, so I didnt have to waste time with other DJ companies. I will for sure recommend Dynamic Sounds to anyone who is in search of an excellent DJ/MC for their wedding. DO NOT LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE!!! read more

David and Lupe are incredible and did a amazing job at our wedding! Everything from helping us with our itinerary to making sure our night was as memorable as possible, they were exactly what we needed. When we were shopping around looking for a DJ for our wedding and we told people that we had started to talk to Dynamic Sounds, they said "Oh wow, go with them, they're the best!" Thank you!! read more

My husband's review was filtered (not sure why) so here it is...again: My wife and I just got married this past weekend. Words cannot express how happy we are with the quality of work and professionalism of Dave, Lupe and their team at Dynamic Sounds. We originally planned on using them for just our DJ services (for our music) and then found out that they offered two additional services: Dave is a professional emcee and Lupe offers reception timeline planning. We spoke with them and fell in love with what they had to offer, their extreme friendliness and the peace we felt speaking with them. Over the last 6 months or so, we worked with Lupe on our reception timeline, planning the entire program. We had NO idea what type of work it takes to make sure your reception goes smoothly and in a timely fashion. Lupe was the best thing and made us feel so relaxed with the situation! We love Lupe so much! Dave's work came on our wedding day... and we cannot tell you enough how much we are thrilled we decided to use him as our emcee. He was so professional, funny, and kept our guest laughing (but without risque jokes or having to bash people like other emcees do) and kept our program running so smoothly. Of course their DJs rocked too! We had so many people compliment us on our emcee and asked who's friend he was (since most people use a friend or family member). We said Dave is our friend, but also professionally is an emcee and public speaker. We had countless guests tell us our reception was perfect and were amazed at the games we played (yes, we played games and our guests had SOOOO much fun). You'll need to use Dave and Lupe to get a hold of the awesome games they have to offer. Bottom line, this was the best money we spent and we are so thankful to Dave and Lupe and their team for the EXCEPTIONAL job they did for us. If you are planning a wedding, you have to at least consider this company for your DJ, Emcee and Reception Time Line Planning. We promise you will not regret it. They are AWESOME! Thank you guys for making our night so special and perfect. Nashua and Amber read more

The words for our day: simple, comfortable, free-flowing, stress-free. I came up with those words during my initial consultation with David. Worked out well! One of our wedding guests observed that our wedding was one of the most relaxed ones she had been to. Great! A good friend recommended Dynamic Sounds who also emceed and deejayed her wedding years ago. I saw one of their DJs Gary at her birthday party - he ended up emceeing and deejaying our wedding. After doing our homework (worksheets/questionnaires to help with planning), husband and I met with Lupe to discuss the reception timeline about a month before the big day. Lupe worked really well with our wedding coordinator to finalize the timeline. Very happy with how the evening went. I would highly recommend Dynamic Sounds. My words of advice is to feel free to be very directive - for example if you want the deejaying and emceeing to be more in the background or simple, or if you definitely do not want certain songs to be played, or if you want a certain balance of slow-dance and faster-dance songs. Work it! read more

We are so happy that we hired David & Lupe & their team at Dynamic Sounds to MC, DJ, & coordinate our wedding. They are very well organized, detail-oriented, creative, easy to work with, reliable, and professional. Working with David and Lupe to plan our event timeline was very easy. They provided great suggestions to make our special day unique & unforgettable, and were always available to our concerns. When planning our wedding David asked, "how would you describe your dream wedding?" Our response was Fun, Memorable, Stress-free, & Amazing. David and Lupe made it happen. Our wedding day went off absolutely perfect and our guests still tell us how great our wedding was, and we owe a lot of it to this team. David and Lupe are excellent at what they do and we were so lucky to have them be a part of our special day. Book this team right after you get engaged! read more

I hired Dynamic Sounds to be my wedding DJ and MC and couldn't have been happier. They also provided the music for my ceremony. I had so much fun at my wedding and I know a huge part of it was because of Dynamic Sounds. Dynamic Sounds also provided a couple of uplights for my ceremony. I had reached out to a few other vendors and heard what they had to say, but I knew Dynamic Sounds was right for me from the start. Before I even requested a contract, I had an amazing consultation with Dave. He spent over an hour explaining to me how and what Dynamic Sounds does to stand apart from its competition and answered all the questions I had. He even shared a few ideas on how to make my reception unique. Lupe was awesome - very friendly and easy to work with, which was a plus for me as I planned my Waikiki wedding from Las Vegas. Dynamic Sounds actually built my ceremony and reception timeline and Lupe had a lot of great input and suggestions that definitely helped make things easier for me. She was also very accommodating in meeting with my parents and I in person. Don was appointed our wedding day DJ and MC and he was awesome. I don't think anyone could have done a better job. He handled our timeline and crazy wedding guests really well. He was really good at going with the flow of our guests reactions to different things and keeping everyone's energy up. We had so much fun with all of our games (ideas courtesy of Dynamic Sounds) as well. We received a lot of compliments from our guests that Don was a great MC. And my dad continues to rave to everyone (especially those who were unable to attend our wedding) how awesome Don was. Any story my dad shares about my wedding includes how happy he was with Dynamic Sounds. read more

David and Lupe from Dynamic Sounds truly made our wedding unique and fun! I will never forget our first meeting with David. We spent two hours going over different ways we could entertain our guests. You can tell when someone has a passion for what they do and David showed so much enthusiasm for having the opportunity to plan our reception. A few days before our wedding we met with Lupe to finalize everything and go over any last minute changes. Lupe did an excellent job at organizing our timeline and putting us at ease. We were on a tight budget and using David and Lupe to not only plan our reception but act as a coordinator worked out perfect! We also had David arrange up lighting which matched our chair cover sashes. We had a family friend DJ for us. David worked closely with him to ensure all music was ready and provided him with a timeline. What makes them unique is they helped us tell our story of love. Talking about our lives and sharing memories of our parents to present the father/daughter and mother/son dance captivated our audience. Since we didn't have many single guys or ladies at our wedding David and Lupe had great ideas on ways to do the bouquet and garter toss. We incorporated a football with the garter toss and our guests had a blast. By the end of the night we were receiving many positive comments about our reception. If you want to have fun at your wedding then I highly recommend David and Lupe from Dynamic Sounds. read more

We had a destination wedding in Hawaii and spent a lot of time researching and interviewing DJs. David and his Team were very professional, very organized, not pushy, well priced, genuine, flexible, basically everything we were looking for. I know his website doesn't look like much (reason why we didn't consider them at first), but look past that and give them a call. Pre-wedding, they asked lots of good questions, got our play list, our do not play list, got dimensions of the reception room, etc etc. Day of the wedding they came early and stayed late. David was very helpful the day of with some adhoc changes. Very happy. Highly recommended. Thanks DSH!!! read more

David, Lupe, and staff at Dynamic Sounds were amazing! My wedding wouldn't have been nearly so great without them. They were the first vendors i booked after hearing them talk at a Wedding Cafe seminar, before i even booked my venue! From the beginning they were helpful, getting to know us and our vision for our special day. They helped plan out our reception timeline (perfect for me since I didn't have a wedding planner). We loved the little touches they added and how smoothly our wedding went (more seamless than most weddings I've seen). They even rescued me when I forgot my salsa dress and hula Muumuu to change into (someone had to run to the hotel to get them) and they were able top flip around the reception timeline the day of to accommodate. I felt completely stress free in their hands and can't wait for another event to use them again. read more

David Dunaway is such a gem and made our wedding so memorable! From the very first meeting we knew we wanted David Dunaway to emcee our wedding. His personality and all around awesomeness was contagious at every meeting and especially during our wedding! He listened to what we wanted and delivered. He was always available if we needed to talk with him (which wasn't very often but he always responded right away). David Dunaway and Gary (our DJ) were professional and so easy to work with. We always left our meetings with David Dunaway feeling better than we did walking into our meetings! So if you're having a rough day just schedule your meeting with David Dunaway at the end of the day and you'll leave feeling like the day wasn't a total loss :) Lupe was awesome as well! She was very ontop of it and never hesitated to give her honest opinion on how things could be changed to run more smooth (my husband and I really appreciated that!!). read more
