We didn't stay for a meal, but rather we got a dozen doughnuts a couple of times. Each doughnut was better than the previous, with my favourite being the Piñata Colada. The staff were very friendly. On our way out of town, we stopped by for a half dozen doughnuts , and we could smell the food that the other patrons were eating. Some edible items have been put into the clearance bin for sale long past their printed expiry dates. Management was not professional or polite when informed about a produce item's price scanning higher than the sign had shown. It was saddening to learn from a Google review that the management had printed an unkind message on a former employee's pay stub. I don't feel I can support a business that would do that.

When I enquired, I was told it was not their responsibility if the supplier sends them different products, that they have over 5000 items and cannot possibly keep track if the supplier sends something other than what they ordered. I said I did not want this product that I had paid $35 plus $20 in shipping and they advised that I could return it but would have to cover the cost of returning the products myself. I live in Ontario and they shipped from their Alberta location. /beyond that 2 of the bottles had been damaged in transit - or packed and shipped already damaged - and the sauce was leaked inside the shipping box. When I sent a photo of the item from their website and a photo of the product I received, they told me it was the same thing!! I see positive reviews from people who were in Lethbridge and shopped in their physical store so I actually believe they purposefully scam online shoppers and then refuse any responsibility. They should be fined and shut down for unlawful business practices!!!

Later, when following up by email, they refused to refund and told me there is nothing wrong with selling expired food. When I told them I would have to make a report with my credit card company, they told me I that was threatening. I would think stealing your customers money is far more threatening behaviour. I would recommend that everyone submit reports to the Canada Food Inspection Agency. They will close the business down if enough people report the selling of expired goods. Don't risk buying from Umami Shop.

According to the two border security examining my vehicle, only Canada and America grow them. I didn't question it because I wanted to make it back to America. Anywho, the store is well kept.
