5 Read the reviews and walked into Kingsmen Ale House on a Wednesday evening. Decent amount of people in the place but we had the entire little room off to the side by ourselves. Loved the mix of new and old music playing. Waitress was attentive. Ordered the cod with Parmesan & black pepper fries and smashed peas - it was delicious; ate everything on my plate! Went with my family and the service was terrible. It wasn't busy and we waited along time to get menus then drinks. Soup was supposed to be a dill pickle soup but was a curry soup with dill pickles thrown in was horrible. Waitress demand she would refill drinks never did till we asked again not busy. Waitress drop half of French fries off plate onto floor, wrong order of fries given to daughter waitress blamed it on kitchen for both said kitchen had been busy all week. Who cares it's now 2pm Saturday afternoon and quiet. Waitress only became visible and chatty when time to pay bill. Sorry you did not get a tip but it was a horrible meal and service. And you probably shouldn't tell a British person what is served in pubs in the UK it is far better food than here. read more

Overall disappointing, food was not fresh today, the stew was overcooked, the meat little more than a mush and waving a bottle of Guinness over the pot does nothing for it, tasteless. The selection of ales is very limited. I will be in no rush to go there again. read more

Arriving in Lethbridge this evening and after searching Yelp, we decided to eat at Kingsmen Ale House. The menu is loaded with English items. My wife had the shepherd's pie with Cole slaw and I had the Bangers and Mash with baked beans. Everything was scrumptous. We thought the mashed potatoes were especially good. I had the steak and mushroom pie and the flavors were great, the crust was well-done, and it was a warm comfort food I also had the bread pudding. Very good option!! Definitely worth a shot. Immediately walking into this Ale House, you feel like you are walking into Old England. Wonderful atmosphere. It is a bit darker, like most pubs are. Beautiful seats and tables! Ceiling is beautiful decorated and has a quaint fireplace as well with a nice stone wall. The menu looks like it is filled with authentic English food as well. I ordered the crispy pork belly with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. My wife ordered a Royal Roast Beef Sandwich with battered chips as a side. I was feeling adventurous to try something new because I have never had pork belly before so I thought I'd give it a shot. Turns out I am not a fan of pork belly! The garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables were honestly perfect! They were covered in a mustard gravy, which was quite nice. It was old fashioned mustard with seeds and all! Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure the pork belly is fantastic for those that like pork belly. It is very crunchy but the after taste is not for me. My wife quite enjoyed her roast beef sandwich. Her cheddar aioli was really good as well. Come with an empty stomach though! A lot of food on these plates for our small bellies! Our waiter was amazing though! His name was Daniel and he felt so bad that I didn't like the pork belly, was willing to go above and beyond but it just wasn't for me. Not his fault, not the chefs fault. Just not for me. Kingsman Ale House Is a traditional pub with excellent food. I had New England clam chowder which was wonderful. And I also had their award winning fish and chips for my meal. Take extra care with Google Maps in finding this restaurant. The restaurant is behind the 7-Eleven across the street at an Indian restaurant where Google maps takes you. Tracy, the waitress, took my reservation, and was concerned when I was late. There she was outside the pub when I got there. I had called and she went outside to make sure I made the right turn. Besides the food, it is rich and savory, our waiter, Daniel Yanke was a pleasant and professional host. He served my non-alcoholic beer in a tall chilled glass with the name of the beer on it. He remarked that they had high standards of service. This was also. evident in the quality of chairs and booths. It was a wonderful experience. I can't wait to try their signature cheese cake. I expect it's caramel and bacon is a unique and delicious combination. read more

Very good pub. I like the atmosphere as it was decorated with lots of things from the United Kingdom and Ireland. Had the clam chowder soup, fish and chips and they were fantastic. Prices are very reasonable too. My server was friendly and efficient. They have a large selection of draught beer including a bunch from the United Kingdom and Ireland. The two piece fish and chips are bigger than they look! I really liked their fries as they were nicely seasoned. Would defiantly go back if I am in Lethbridge again. read more

Really like this place. We have been twice now and am very impressed. They have an extensive beer menu, as a pub should (could used more stouts and porters, but that is a personal preference). The first time I went, I had the Guinness stew, and Butter chicken the second along with bread pudding for dessert. Amazing meals both times. They also get all of their buns from a local bakery, which is neat too. Service was fantastic. Both times the servers seems very knowledgeable about the menus, and were very attentive.
