I've been a customer for nearly 10 yrs over 2 residences. Never had any problems until recently…read more Short story, my unit was likely misdiagnosed twice and I had to get another company to fix it. I paid One Hour $473 more than the other company to NOT fix my unit, was made to agree to pay ANOTHER $644 when the unit wasn't fixed the first time and was told (by a fake manager) to be happy I wasn't paying $1200 instead. Then I was charged 2 additional months AFTER I cancelled my membership, had to call each time to get a refund, and was promised a call from management that never came. Save yourself some stress and go with a company that has management that actually cares about its customers. Long story: I noticed my heat was blowing in short spurts but my house was warm and I had a routine check up scheduled the next day. The next morning, the technician said my unit was frozen. They said they needed to check for leaks and it would cost $644. I agreed and they found one in the valve core. They fixed it and pressurized the unit. They said my unit was 'thirsty'. The next morning the air was blowing in short spurts and the unit was frozen again. I called and someone took my information and said someone from One Hour would call me back. All day, no call. I called again Sunday morning and got One Hour. They said they had no record of my previous days call. She said the next available appointment was the next day, Mon, and never offered to send someone that day. The next day the technicians said that they needed to do another leak search and charge me another $644. I called and asked for the manager and Lisa said she was who I needed to talk to. (To me that implied that she was the manager). She said even the most experienced technicians can miss a 'pinhole' leak and the technician that was there now was more experienced than the one Friday. I did not think I should be charged when the 'not as experienced' technician that was there Friday must have missed a leak. Again she said it was unreasonable for me to expect a technician to find a 'pinhole' leak the first time. She said that she was giving me a deal, the search they were planning to do was more extensive and cost $1200 but they are only charging me the $644. I told her I had no choice, I needed heat. They discovered they overcharged my unit by nearly 2 lbs on Friday. Because it was their error they did not charge me. After that, the unit worked fine for a few weeks. One Saturday morning it was below freezing, the unit was blowing short spurts again and was frozen. I called another company and the technician came within an hour. They said my fan was going out and was an easy fix that was covered by my warranty, I needed was to pay for labor, which was $122 plus the after hours fee of $49. (Total $171). He said when the fan is going out, you cannot check for leaks because the unit cannot pressurize. I called and canceled my membership with One Hour. She asked why and I explained the service and the rude 'manager' Lisa. She told me that Lisa was definitely NOT a manager. She also said I would be charged the membership fee on Jan 5th, as it takes a few weeks to cancel. I was charged Jan 5th, but was charged again on Feb 12th. I called and confirmed I was canceled and she had no idea why I was charged. I called back the next week to confirm that they had issued me a refund check and I was cancelled. Mar 5th I was charged again. Furious, I called the office and asked to speak with a manger. They said it takes 24 to 48 hrs to get a call back. This was on a Thursday and she was sure they would call me back the following day (Friday). The next TUESDAY I had still not received a call. I called back and she could see no one had looked into getting me a refund but she would. She could not see if I was still on the list to be called because she was not the one who escalated the call. I received the second refund check the following week and so far, no more charges. I have still to this day, never received a call from management. DO THEY EVEN EXIST????

This is the second time I have used this business. The first time was great, and very reasonably…read morepriced. The second time, not so much... My heat went out over the weekend so I called them to come out and take a look. After poking around for a few hours looking puzzled, the guy said I had a freon leak and I needed a whole new condenser unit. He sent another guy over who told me it would be $6k to replace it, and that it was best to replace the entire system for $10k. He tried to pressure me into it by offering a "discount", saying prices were going up in a couple weeks, etc. Thankfully, I didn't bite and got a second opinion. I called JLS Mechanical (recommended by my contractor). The guy they sent told me One Hour was completely full of it, and there was nothing wrong with my condenser. He temporarily fixed my heat so I wouldn't freeze overnight, then came back the next day with parts and had me up and running better than before for under $500! So either (A) One Hour is completely incompetent, or (B) they are con-artists. Either way, they almost cost me $9,500 I didn't need to spend. Definitely would not recommend.
