Believe me I have looked. My Dog was 12 and had a tumor and we had to put him down. It has been awful missing my dog but the vet has been nothing but compassionate. They said they would bill me instead of making me pay while I was sobbing and when I recieved an envolope in the mail thinking it was a bill it was a card from the vet telling me how sorry they are about what happened to my dog. They still have yet to bill me. Today I went back for my cat because she had some scabbing on her neck and when I paid they told me what the balance would be for my dog and informed me that they made me a paw print for me and I can get it in a couple weeks. I got in my car and cried! I just was putting together some scrapbooking stuff for my dog and was so mad at myself that in 12 years time I never took a paw print from my dog and they did it for me. I love this vet hospital. I can not believe how far above and beyond they have gone for my dog and I.

Not long after, I started bringing my male Rottweiler, Joe, in and that's when I met Jess. Joe absolutely adores Jess. In fact, I'm pretty sure Joe is Jess's favorite patient... even if he acts like a wild toddler on espresso the moment we walk through the door. lol! Jess knows exactly how to handle all 125lbs of him and does an exceptional job at it! Every girl who answers the phone goes above and beyond too--always friendly, always helpful, and always willing to make sure every question is answered. They make the whole experience smoother and genuinely welcoming. The clinic is clean, the staff is warm, and every visit feels thorough and unrushed. They take the time to explain everything clearly so I always know exactly what Joe needs. From one of the hardest days of my life to the ongoing care of my sweet but dramatic boy, Joe, Dr. Marco, Jess, and the entire team have been exceptional. I truly couldn't ask for better people to trust with my dogs' health. Highly recommended.

Everything but everything is wrong with this place They close doors for training or meetings, often -once almost all day for computers to be checked over. The doctors relay on techs too much and I had to contact tech to get message to doctor. Had an emergency with my girl and could not see Mottel for 7 days Had to use Marco the following day. My girl Hates her.. Marco was rough and my baby tried to bite her 2 times. They took texts.. Make long story short, she over medicated her I took her off and was better in 2 days...and I told them so.. one week later Marco contacted me through texting asking how she was doing and if the symptoms come back to contact her. Yeah Right!! The front desk clerk is an IDIOT! What is said here is solely what I had experienced and never want to again!

I knew the test took a long time that is why I waited 2 months for it. My pets worse condition had nothing to do with this wait I did originally. So please think what you want. When someone is that upset your job is to calm them done specially when it comes to a member of their family. In this case since my pets test results were worse he should of been put on meds the same day. Not when it's convenient for the Dr's to read it. After getting the results I knew what needed to be done and I'm not even a Dr. The cardiologist had it writing out what the next steps were. Thanks for the response but this response was completely false. I'm also glad I was able to get him on meds right away and already noticed a difference. So I'm happy with this new vet. Please next time take everything in conclusion before writing a review back. Thank you have a great day

The receptionists, vet techs, doctors--all wonderful--professional, warm, welcoming--and all took the time to carefully explain every part of the process, from the first appointment, diagnosis, surgery, recovery, financing, etc. Dr. Peacock is everything you'd want your vet (or your own doctor) to be. He is a highly experienced surgeon--and doctors at that level often lack the "bedside manner" so crucial to clear communication and a healthy doctor/patient/patient's family relationship. Dr. Peacock dispelled all those concerns the moment he walked in the room. He is warm and down to earth. He was so helpful--examining our dog, explaining the issue and appropriate procedure--and answering all of our questions (some of which we likely asked more than once) with patience, kindness, and candor. I can't express enough how positive the entire experience was. Every single person made us feel comfortable, confident in our dog's care, and welcome. And our dog is good as new (so to speak!) Thank you, everyone at Aurora!

My dog was experiencing severely labored breathing and post-surgical complications and urgently needed oxygen support. I was already hesitant to come here due to the overwhelming number of negative reviews, but the emergency hospital I normally use did not have oxygen available. I arrived in a state of panic with a dog who was visibly struggling to breathe. What I was met with was shockingly cold, dismissive, and unprofessional behavior from a young woman at the front desk who clearly had no interest in helping or even pretending to care. Instead of compassion or urgency, I was asked, "Have we seen you here before?" When I said no and explained the emergency, her only response was, "Well this is why we tell people to call before they come in. We're full and can't take your dog." I was so taken aback by the rudeness and lack of empathy that I walked out, placed my dog back in the car, and then returned inside to address how inappropriate her response had been given the severity of the situation. While I calmly voiced my discontent, the only response I received was a dismissive "Mmmmhmmmm, ok" repeated a few times. No apology. No acknowledgment. No concern. Nothing. I was absolutely floored. This wasn't a scheduling issue or a routine visit. This was a dog struggling to breathe. The lack of etiquette, professionalism, and basic human compassion was astounding and deeply upsetting, especially in what could have been my dog's final moments. This experience fully validated every negative thing I had heard about this organization. By contrast, Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Naperville and Oak Brook, as well as THRIVE in Hoffman Estates, treated my dog with kindness, urgency, and genuine compassion over the following days. The difference was night and day. Those hospitals understood what emergency veterinary care is supposed to look like. VCA clearly does not. I will never bring an animal here again, and I will actively warn others to avoid this location. No pet owner should be subjected to additional emotional distress when they are already terrified for their animal's life. This was unacceptable, heartless, and profoundly disappointing.

We used to go to a very large vet practice and we prefer our pets to be familiar with their doctors (and the techs), rather than seeing a different vet each time you go in (unless you ask for a specific vet). As our pup, Ruby Bertha Marie, has gotten older, she is sadly having more health issues. Ruby has a history of mast cell tumors, so she has had MANY growths removed due to this history. Dr. Lauren Tassone is an excellent surgeon, and has always been willing to remove a small lump we find on Ruby (even when Ruby is in for her dental cleaning), to make sure Ruby does not receive many more surgeries than necessary. Our family is EXTREMELY PLEASED with the OUTSTANDING CARE and LOVE that Ruby is always shown! Taking Ruby to the vet is like seeing beloved family members. Everyone makes you feel welcome and that you are truly cared about! We are very THANKFUL to EVERYONE at Prairie State Vet for their help, guidance and moral support! Ruby is also enrolled in the THRIVE program and we have saved some money on her bills. We feel it it worth it to join. Finally, their new office building is not only BEAUTIFUL, but is very spacious (and always decorated beautifully for holidays)! We LOVE Prairie State Vet!

As the days went on he became more and more sick. His belly became enlarged, he was barely able to walk and it was obvious our time together was coming to an end. On Thanksgiving night, around midnight, I came home to find Lennon in very, very bad shape. He was clearly near death and needed immediate care. Lennon was never a patient of Pine Bluff Animal Hospital, but I needed to find the closest hospital to get him help as quickly as possible. Shortly after midnight, Dr. Schmidt agreed to meet my boyfriend and I at the hospital within 20 minutes. Dr. Schmidt immediately assessed Lennon and recommended euthanasia. Dr. Schmidt was so gentle with Lennon and handled him with such tenderness and clearly explained the options available to Lennon and what the next steps would be in a way that was both factual and empathetic. My boyfriend and I had a beautiful, private moment alone to say goodbye to Lennon and the doctor was so respectful of our time with Lennon. This next part I remember so vividly: when I walked back in the room after Lennon had passed away, Dr. Schmidt gently pulled Lennon's blanket up to cover him just like he was sleeping. It may not seem like much, but to me it showed Dr. Schmidt's character. He is compassionate, kind and caring, all of which extends past his obligation as a veterinarian. I chose to cremate Lennon and also asked for a clay paw impression. When I picked Lennon up to take him home for the last time, I looked down to find that Lennon's remains had been placed in a beautiful wood box with a brass nameplate and the clay paw was outfitted with his name and a heart. I was so touched that I cried in the parking lot for over 5 minutes. I've been meaning to write a note of thanks for a few weeks, but haven't found the right words. This review doesn't do my thoughts justice. To think that the veterinarian of a busy animal shelter accepted Lennon (a never before seen patient) on an emergency visit basis at midnight on Thanksgiving is absolutely incredible. I am humbled and forever grateful. One last note: shortly after Lennon passed away, I received a sympathy card in the mail, hand-signed by the staff with notes of sympathy, including Dr. Schmidt who wrote a note that was very touching. I was so emotional over the staff taking their time to remember me in my time of deep, deep grief. I can not recommend PBAH enough. These are folks who care deeply about animals, care about people and care about their hospital.
