A follow up to your reply to my earlier review. I wanted to bring my cat to you since you're so close to where I recently moved, but chose to drive 30 minutes to Fairbury Vet because I WAS given prices over the phone. The prices given to me for routine vaccinations were higher than at Fairbury Vet. I was also told what the starting price was for teeth cleaning for my cat. The starting price I was given was more than double the starting price at Fairbury Vet. So, I didn't review the wrong vet, and I'm not in your system because I chose not to use you after getting the vax prices and starting dental cleaning price over the phone. read more

They took us in on Saturday June 21st when we had to have our baby put to rest,they were so compassionate and they helped make it easier for us,a few days later we got the nicest card from them telling us how sorry they were for our loss which meant a lot because she was our baby,so we Had our other dogs record sent there and the girls at the front desk are so friendly,a really nice place to take your dog too!!!! read more

Very upset. Called today bc my kitten is sick and needs help asap. I take my dog regularly to this vet. They said tomorrow I can come in. I said it's not going to make it. I pretty much got "too bad." I'm so disgusted by this place. They don't care abt your animals, only money. Go to Mazon Just Animals and pay 10% of what these ppl charge for vaccines and a spay/neuter. You'll thank me for it. read more

I called 6 vets and none could help during an emergency. The last vet I called was amazing and said hold on let me call a few places for you. She got me to Dwight veterinary clinic. I do miss the lobby of places being open but I'm beyond grateful for my experience at Dwight! Every single person I talked to and the kindest of doctors. That day was one of my biggest nightmares and this place handled it with ease and care. My Oliver is healing and it's going to take some time, but couldn't be more grateful for the kindness I received here with professional knowledge. For going for shots and wellness exam I'd say you may be in the clear; however, good luck when there's an emergency. I don't have respect for a team of animal care providers who can't have the heart to even just look at my husband's dog when he came in bleeding with a deep wound on his face. Instead of tending to evaluation of care that needed to happen, the front desk could only tell my husband his dog had to wait 5 hours to even be looked at. What if this was a more severe emergency? My husband is told about price from $300-$700 when no one wants to even evaluate the condition of the dog. Customer care is lacking. We went to the clinic I always take our other dogs and were seen immediately, tended to promptly, and given a fair price for high quality work (not even $150). On top of this, I also don't have respect for the vet care here as they regularly were prescribing my husband's dog allergy prevention injections to stop his allergy symptoms when all that had to happen was a change in diet... which I encouraged when I met my husband and dog 3 years ago. Come on people... treat the source of the problem-- don't put a bandaid on it. Finally, you would imagine that apologies would be had or questions asked when I called to cancel our upcoming booster appointment, and I even stated we were changing locations. I am shocked by the lack of care this clinic has. Not putting a dogs health first is wrong. As my husband has been a regular client for years, we are severely disappointed in how he and his dog were treated today. We will never be coming to Dwight Vet Clinic, and would only consider to if the staff is changed. We are extremely happy and our dogs are well treated at my vet now. read more

We have used this clinic before for emergency after hours when we had a devastating loss to one of our babies and they were so companionate. They are a sister vet to our normal vet in Wilmington. This vet visit we were out of country (literally waiting to board the plane home) and our dogs got into a tiff and our pet sitter called to say she thought one needed stiches. She called drover 20 mins south and they took her in and sutured our boxer up. Not once did they give our sitter a hassle and they made sure our baby was well taken care of. I must say our minds were at ease when we were so far away and there was nothing we could do to help our baby. I would highly recommend this clinic for the love, empathy and respect they show they clientele. read more

Just like always, friendly, caring and thorough visit. I appreciated being able to bring him into the building and talking face to face. They understood both Henry's and my anxiety since it was a follow up visit after getting into chocolate. After asking if I had noticed any changes or if I had any concerns, I showed Dr. Haag a spot on the back of his neck. She told me it was a fluid filled cyst, and then used a syringe to drain it. They then took him to the back to do his blood work, nail trim and express his anal glands. Then I went to wait in my car. They called for me to fill out my check and then brought Henry out to the car when they were done. Since his visit was on a Saturday, Dr. Haag called and left a detailed message explaining the results if his bloodwork on Monday. Always happy with the clinic! read more

Business Manager at DVC. Dr Cronin's record in caring for my pets precedes 2000. Go back to the 90's and you will see, if records were kept, that he was always willing and able and made the TIME---even though his staff was smaller---to make a house call in an emergency. This was an emergency. I didn't know if my dog was deceased or not. She was unresponsive, but I believed she was alive. To be ignored in my plea for help is something I will never never understand...especially when in years past, I had loving reliable care. To say that "no one was available and you were tending to healthy animals"---is a slap in the face to someone who is trying to keep the pet alive. We live in a new age. Without a doubt. It is all about money. I just hope that individuals on your staff will NEVER have to deal with an uncaring person too busy to stop and help out in a crisis. read more

I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to Dwight Veterinary Clinic. They went above & beyond to help us figure out a solution to our GSD Zobrist's IBD. He unfortunately succumbed to the disease but the staff was very helpful and sympathetic. They allowed me my time with our beloved pet even though we were in the middle of Covid 19(we all had masks on). When we brought home our new GSD baby Jaz they were Johnny on the spot with getting her in for check up and again went above & beyond to be accommodating. Always thorough and professional. read more

It has been awhile from my last review since then doctors and ownership have changed. I left this clinic at their request because their receptionist has limited experience with seniors citizens and cell phones with care credit. It was a Sat. morning when and not a good day for my 14 yr old Charlie, (I later learned that due to his age he should not have the cleaning). He had been sick since his tooth cleaning in January 2021 to Aug 14, 2021 date put down. It was not unusual for Charlie to vomit, pee or feces anywhere in the house. Dr. Haag encouraged me to keep him going with minor solutions, $$$. After dealing with this for several months I started making appointments to put him down. After a few hours guilt would set in and I would cancel, this went on for the summer. Eventually, he could no long find his direction. I found him in the morning on my kitchen floor encircled with his vomit, pee, feces and unable to get up. I called made the appointment for 10:20 am and no mention was made to me regarding payment on care credit. When I got to the office, I called into the office report I was in the parking lot. I was told a tech would be out to get us. After over 1/2 hour the receptionist came out of the office yelling at me, (I was crying), about why I wasn't answering my cell phone. I was shocked, but replied why, my cell is shutoff and in my purse. She told me, I to needed to approve the care credit charge before the procedure could be done. To me and I told her, that meant going home approving the charge and coming back they would be closed. Then I told her this cat was going to be put down today, that was she was saying was b.s.. I went into the building and Charlie was put down. Once Dr. Amy was told what I had been dealing with she said that all that was unnecessary and he needed to be put down. When I left there was no one in the reception area to pay the bill so I went home. The whole day was a sad day for me, now I had to bury my Charlie. I went on to pay the bill but had a question so I had to wait until the office was open. That Tuesday I called their office talked with Jill, office manager and paid the bill. A week later I got a letter telling me not to come back. Apparently, the receptionist expected a 77 yr old woman to hop on her cell phone and approve an email which was on my computer not my cell phone. See.. my cell phone was never connected to the internet because I use it for emergencies and pictures.. I was their patient since 2005.. spent on the average of $3000 a year. Dr. Cronin had turned over in his grave, (the previous owner). read more

I absolutely recommend DVC to any pet owner. I was lucky enough to call and they just so happened to have an appointment open for an emergency that my kitten had. This was my first time going here as this is a new kitten to us and they made the process easy and quick for new clients. The staff was very reassuring and Dr. Haag was so kind and clear on what our options were. She walked me through everything and gave me her recommendations while letting me decide what was best. I've used this clinic since 2005 thought highly of it but on August 14, 2021 that was the date my opinion changed. In December 2020 recommended a teeth cleaning for my 13 going on 14 yr old cat, Charlie. January 5, 2021 got his teeth cleaned. When I got him home he was a totally different cat needing almost 24/7 care. He couldn't stand on his own, walked in circles, and had a hellish odor on his bowel movements. His bowels gave of a horrible odor in diarrhea form. Dr. Haag, said sometimes after surgery strange changes can come to surface and told me to get him some fiber into him. So for a couple of months I was putting fiber in his wet food.. He had stopped eating his dry food. From January to August I had been continuously cleaning up after my cat and helping him stand while feeding. There were many times I would let him eat off the end of my lazy boy because I could keep his mind on his food. Many times from May to August I would make an appointment only to quickly cancel because I still had hope for Charlie with no heart for putting him down, The longer I put off the worse Charlie got, when I talked with Dr. Hagg, she would always encourage me with Charlie's health. Finally, around 1st of July his stools started to turn normal with partial diarrhea hit & miss. Charlie was slowly going down hill with in home accidents being more frequently by August he had no idea where his litter box was located. I could no longer keep track of where he would pee on my carpets and my house smelled like "Charlie". I had gotten water free soap to touch him up when it was very bad but that was only for a day or two. On August 14th, 2021 when I got up he had been lost on the floor not able to right his body and he had pooped rolling in his mess. Recently not rightly himself was getting to be a usual thing, I knew he was suffering and with his explosive vomiting Charlie was miserable. I knew that the only hope for Charlie was to put down. I called the clinic shortly after 8 AM, Maddy said they had an opening at 9:40 or 10:40, then she said something very strange. She said Dr. Hagg wasn't in but a substitute was there and she (Maddy) didn't think that the veterinary could euthanasia Charlie. I asked her how hard could that be it's a simple injection, why don't you ask her. She asked and told me yes, she could take care of Charlie. I then chose the 10:40 AM appointment. Now mind you there was no mention to me about payment. Charlie & I get to the clinic, no one else was in the parking lot. I called to check-in & Maddy said she'd get the room ready and send a tech out to get us. We waited in the car for 30 minutes, I holding Charlie crying my eyes out.. some other patients came in some had left during this time. Maddy, can charging out of the building loudly asking in an accusing tone, "why are you answering your email, I've sent it twice and need the bill to be signed for Care Credit before you can come in." I was dumbfounded.. I told her my phone was off and in my purse, she told me to turn it on and approve the bill. I told her I don't know how to do that on a cell phone, I' d have to go home to do it on my email & they'd be closed before I got back. With that I started getting out of my car stating, "this is a bunch of bullshit, I've never not paid any of your bills." proceeding into the building. The first room was ready for Charlie, we went in and I let him down to pace walk. Then the tech, Michelle came into the room followed by the doctor. I explained what Charlie had been going through the wet stools, vomiting for 7 !/2 months and the deterioration of his ability to stand, stay standing, falling, rolling around and loss of sense to go to the litter-box. The doc told me that he was in horrible health and really needed to be put down months before then. The most intelligent answer I had heard in months. She got the shots and proceeded to put Charlie at peace. I cried over my Charlie, my heart was broken but he was out of his pain and at peace. I got a letter from the Dwight Vet. Clinic on the August 23rd, 2021, saying. "The doctors and staff at Dwight Veterinary Clinic always strive to provide the best possible level of service for our clients and patients. Our medical guidance and recommendations for both emergency and preventative are dispensed first and foremost with your pet's health in mind. Unfortunately, our doctors and staff cannot deliver necessary veterinary care and recommendations without a polite, civil and comfortable relationship and communication with our clients, Your behavior and interactions with our personnel on August 14 have made it impossible for Dwight Veterinary Clinic to continue to provide medical care for your pets. Yelling at staff, using derogatory language, and exhibiting aggressive behavior is not only unacceptable, but also subject to legal action. Pretty heartless to a long time customer. A little compasion would have been nice. I took a stray cat in that had been bitten by a wild animal and I get told well if you cant afford it I can clean the wound and leave it open, or you can pay us 200.00 to fix it. this after I offrered to make payment during a hard time in my life... they have gotten a whole lot of money out of me over the years and I even made payments in the past with no problems..... forget you people, I'll drive 40 miles to go a different company. read more

The quality of care, professionalism, & expertise, ranging from the veterinarians and vet-techs on staff to the office staff who manage the scheduling, is the best. The Dwight Veterinary Clinic provides outstanding service to it's furry patients as well as their adoptive "parents." For the reasons stated above, we make the 56 mile one-way drive from our home in Frankfort, IL to Dwight. Easy access off I-55. The app connected with the clinic makes for easy scheduling of appointments and information specific to our pets. The DVMs write S.O.A.P. notes after each visit and provide a copy at checkout along with the bill. S.O.A.P. notes following pet care is extraordinary for pet care clinics. (FYI, a S.O.A.P. note is a medial standard for organizing & briefly documenting patient status by stating what is Subjective, Objective, Assessment, & Prescriptive/the treatment plan.) read more

We have always been satisfied with the excellent treatment our many pets have received over the years and the ability to "get in" quickly when a pet seems to have an urgent problem. Dr. Lou Cronin (now deceased was our first Veterinarian in Dwight and we maintained the relationship even though we moved to a community 20 miles from Dwight in 1977. Dr. Angie Haag-Eggenberger became our "vet" when Lou's illness became too debilitating for him to continue with the practice. She has the same exemplary abilities and empathy as Lou in caring for our pets. We highly recommend Dwight Veterinary Clinic for pet care. read more

I've been trying to get a hold of clinic for 25 mins! No answer, says closed. So I went to speak to an on call vet, after 1 min and 38 seconds, no answer, I was hung up on. When I called a couple weeks ago for an appt, they told me it was 300$ to spay my kitten! I have called other vets and no one ever heard of that high amount! My kitten is sick and wanted to bring her in earlier but says closed?? Where are they? read more
